After a 30-minute boat trip from the main land we arrived at this one-hotel bounty island. The boat arrives at 10:30 am and check-in time is 4:00 pm so be prepared to change for the beach before you have a room. The hotel constitutes a large number of luxurious bungalows, connected by a raised wooden board walk. The bungalows are... More

Excellent place to go but the hotel is not very good. No water 3 days in a row. Room where it smells not good. The cayo is beautiful and really a place to go when travelling to Cuba. Maybe better to go only for the journey...

This is a stunning spot with a beautiful beach and lots of peace and quiet. The bungalows by the sea are nice and clean. Food and service is average, but it does´t matter - still one of my favorite places in Cuba and close enough to Havanna for a shorter outing.

The beach and island are really secluded, BUT: the staff of this state-run hotel is lazy and hostile, and the food almost unedible, with everything that looks fresh as a supplement. When I called from Switzerland to book, the reception told me within a second that they were full, whereas I could obviously find a bungalow through an agency. It... More

The beach is beautiful with very little people. The reef is further out, so snorkelling from the shore one does not see much. Hotel and service are not great. Dinner is included and pretty ok, but not as good as Cuban homestays.

We only went on a day trip from Vinales and so were not allowed to use the hotel facilities, only the restaurant and toilets. The buffet lunch was included but was very basic and drink priced at the " discretion" of the barman. Warm and weak. The worst thing was the most sickening toilets I have EVER ENTERED. BOTH MYSELF... Cayo Levisa is the perfect romantic getaway. Its small size means that there aren't hordes of tourists most of the time. The 10am boat delivers a handful of day visitors which tend to stay around the main restaurant area but its easy enough to walk at either end of the beach to get some peace and quiet. The 40-odd wooden... More

My biggest problem is the galahotel organisation, through which we booked two rooms in this hotel. The rooms were confirmed and paid for. Two days in advance a girl from Gala Hotels (Busra Erdogan) called me. Since we were already in Cuba, it was difficult communicating. The line was bad and Busra's english not very good. Due to overbooking she... More

Was looking forward to snorkelling in the morning and relaxing on the beach in the afternoon on a day trip to the island. There seems to be a lot of building work as you walk from the boat to main reception – the snorkelling trip was overbooked and the boat subsequently broke down – there were not enough loungers on...
