We enjoyed a 6 night stay in this lovely B&B which is set in a peaceful location & within walking distance of Porthmadog. Mary & Gary are very friendly, made us most welcome and cooked superb breakfasts. Our bedroom was spacious, extremely comfortable & overlooked the attractive garden. We highly recommend Penaber & hope to stay there again.
We had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful guest house for three nights from 11/9/20 to 13/9/20 our hosts Mary and Gary where the perfect hosts, always found time for a chat and the breakfasts where the best I’ve had anywhere. Thank you both for a lovely stay we would definitely come back. Stephen & Karen from Liverpool
We had a two night stay in the B and B Friday till Sunday. We were welcomed by Gary and Mary who were fantastic hosts. The twin bedroom en-suite was immaculate. A lovely clean room, great shower, fresh laundered towels and it was nice to see anti bacterial wipes and hand gel in the room too especially during Covid. The breakfast was enjoyed. We cannot fault the hosts who were just so friendly. Nothing was too much trouble.Plenty to see and do in Porthmadog, Betws-y-Coed, Criccieth and Beddgellert. We will be returning again and again.
We have been to Penaber so many times I forget whether it's 8, 9 or 10 times. This alone should tell you what we think of the place - but just in case it doesn't, here goes.... Beautifully located just outside the town, Penaber has outstanding gardens and 3 guest rooms - all of which are spacious, light and airy, and well appointed with everything you will need. All bathrooms have new showers installed (nothing small and horrible to be found here!) and the overall experience is just great. Welcomed with tea or coffee and slices of Bara Brith (Welsh cake) thick slices with butter to help you relax - especially after a long journey like ours, from Canterbury in Kent, your stay starts off just right. Need anything special? Make sure Mary and Gary know in advance and it'll be there - in my case, unsweetened Soya Milk. I brought what was left home with me and am drinking it in a cuppa right now... Breakfasts are great, too. If you want the fruit platter, just remember to order in advance. Why is Welsh bacon so much thicker and tastier than we get at home? I lived on it (and scrambled eggs) - after cereal for breakfast - all week. Needless to say, all freshly cooked for you. Nothing is too much trouble for Mary and Gary, if you haven't already got that message from all the other reviews - all of which are extremely positive - and very well deserved. Needless to say - we'll be back again next year! p.s. This is NOT a hotel, it's a B&B - so the silly questions that Tripadvisor ask at the end are not relevant. Ignore them. Shelagh and Sam Mason…
