We were visiting relatives in town and we wanted to do some walking on Hadrian's Wall, The Grey Bull was ideally situated for both. The hotel is located on a quiet road on the edge of town but within easy walking distance of shops, restaurant/pubs and supermarkets. The rooms were very clean and tidy, we booked an double which was... More

As others say , this is an excellent choice. Large comfortable room with spacious e/suite with nice toiletries, decent flat-screen tv , tea-and-coffee etc, and a top class breakfast: buffet (with fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals) , cafetiere coffee , proper marmalade , as well as the "full English" (or whatever you want). Lovely owner couldn't be more helpful. Nice modern decor... More

We stayed here for 1 night in July 2015 during a trip through Southern Scotland and Northern England. We couldn't have asked for a nicer B & B. Our room was HUGE and comfortable. The ensuite was also large and everything was very clean. If you enjoy the historical touch, this place is interesting as they have several historical documents... More

We booked The Grey Bull at the last minute and were a bit dubious as we couldn't find anywhere else in the area. It was lovely. Kirsten was really helpful, making us a brew on our arrival and giving us advice on a nice walk to Hadrians wall. The room was clean and spacious and the breakfast was the best... More

This is a very friendly, family run business with the personal touch. Breakfasts are cooked fresh to order, big, and offers of more. Rooms are clean and overlooking a quiet road. Really peaceful. Good parking next to the building. Village is an easy walk away with food and pubs. Easy access to Hadrian's Wall and bus. Room has TV, kettle,... More

We stayed here for one night with friends who were visiting from the USA and we had a really fantastic stay. All of our rooms were lovely, the breakfast was just amazing and Kristin was so welcoming. If you are travelling through this area or down visiting Hadrian's Wall or the other local sights then I thoroughly recommend stopping here... More

This B and B was booked by my company, so I had no choice in the matter. I arrived very late after a long drive from London. Kristin met me with a friendly smile and offered tea and toast even though it was very late. A nice start to my stay. I had a massive room on the top floor... More

First time staying here and had a very warm welcome from Kristen. I was on my own travelling up towards Newcastle and Berwick to meet family and so had a frozen leg of lamb which Kristen kindly stored for me in her freezer over the weekend period. I stayed for 3 nights and made use of their kitchen, lounge and... More

Confirming the previous reviews there is not a negative point for this nice little hotel in Haltwhistle. Very nice room with coffee or tea facility and selection of amenities. Our rooms were on the second floor, and after 7 hours walking the idea of climbing up two steep flight of stairs was not a very welcome option, nevertheless you cannot... More
