Stopped off for a lovely lunch here; it's a quaint little pub serving real ale and massive portions of food from a large blackboard menu. It's right beside the Roman road near Hadrian's wall. Staff friendly and helpful. Wifi code clearly displayed on bar.

Awful Service here. The staff are rude and the owners are dishonest and do not care about their customers. I would never come back as my experience here has only left me with bad memories. I am surprised this business exists. AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU LIKE GOOD SERVICE!

Whilst staying in Haltwistle we called down to eat at the inn as my wife knew it offered wheat free gluten free options. The welcome we received from the young lady serving was lovely. She was very helpful, friendly and service was brilliant. A roaring fire, wood beams, traditional decor, comfy cosy seating and of course.. proper traditional ales /... More

We were starving on our way home today so decided to pop in to see what food was on. The pub is very traditional and cosy inside, the staff were really friendly, and the menu had lots of choices on it. I went for the steak burger which was huge and delicious, and my partner had the belly pork which... More

Been visiting this pub for quite a while, wanted to give new owners a chance but really missing Louise she was so friendly, which new bar staff aren't .. Food, still good if they have pies left, not great at planning and often run out, could do with making home made chips, not difficult and think the food offered could really... More

My husband had beef and venison pie and I have game pie both were delicious with proper short crust pastry served with vegetables. Very good portions. Nice clean restaurant area. The staff were very friendly and polite. It's lovely to find somewhere like this that do these kinds of pies. Good selection of real ales also a bonus. Would recommend

We ate at the pub 3 times on Monday 28th Sep the food and service was excellent. However we returned Tuesday and Thursday and the service from the two young girls was terrible I had to get up from the table for drinks and to ask them to come clear away our plates we had sat with them in front... Our son was asleep in the car seat and we were hungry after our walk along Hadrian's Wall. I'm seven months' pregnant so I'm hungry a lot! We decided to stop for something to eat. We didn't want to wake our little man so we sat outside and my partner went in to order. We knew the noise in the... More
