Detailed Reviews
Nice view on the river and nice installation.
Three points to slightly improve the stay:
- the person in charge of the room cleaning needs to be more attentive: forget to put some tissues while the box was empty one day, forget to change the glasses and the towel the following day.
- the choice of meal in the evening does not include salads and this is a pity.
- very poor quality if witfi connection in the meeting room
But except those minor points very nice place to stay.

Not our first stay, arriving by public transport it is a short walk from the bus station. The girls on reception are very helpful, the tall man in the bar area not so much. We ate dinner one evening, it was excellent, good selection and well presented. Breakfast was plentiful and all from a help yourself buffet (the scrambled egg was a tad dry). The room was clean and warm, towels could have been a better quality. BBC1 and 2 available onn the television.

Good value for money, clean and spacious rooms with an excellent view over the river Rhine. Bed was too soft to my liking but this is a personal preference. Excellent breakfast with friendly staff ! Sliding window in room was not locking, a bit of a safety breach, trust it has been fixed.

The short of it: Clean, modern building, nice location, poor management.
The long: We booked a 2 night getaway at a decent price via the company's own website. Almost went for a luxury room with a jacuzzi but opted for a room with river view instead because it had twin beds and not a double. Also put that in as a request on the booking.
Apparently that was a bit too difficult to accommodate for the hotel and we got the first round of apologies for it after we'd paid for the room of course. Rooms are modern and clean but very bare. Two towels and a bad mat and a shower cap in the bedroom. 3 off brand coffee capsules and two tea bags and a sign prohibiting meal ordering and that's pretty much it really. There's individual airco which works and a central system which is extremely noisy so bring earplugs!
Breakfast.. they were proud they had a buffet again. Cheap cereal, very limited choice in bread. Some cooked breakfast items but all lukewarm.. Due to covid you have to book a time but apparently that's only for one morning at a time.
Dinner the second night, which was included with our package, turned really surreal. We had made a reservation but that had disappeared, common according to the restaurant staff.
We decided we wanted a drink first and looked for a table to escape the copious cigarette smoke. Ordered drinks and some snacks (bitterballen) which i had to hunt down after 20 minutes. They came, not with mustard but with a strange sauce and apologies (as do most things in the hotel).
Dinner, we had the menu snatched from our hands as soon as we mentioned we'd pre-booked the dinner. When you do you basically get a choice between a maincourse with a dessert or a starter and it happens to be whatever they have too much off. Decent quality dishes but tiny portions.
After that I gave up and we headed into town for some proper icecream.
It's a strange hotel. Nice and modern building but the cost cutting is very apparent everywhere. From the bare rooms to the almost total absence of napkins to the 98% very young (and therefore cheap staff). Any other chain could make something really nice out of this but not Fletcher!

Not a very friendly welcome, extremely business-like, bossy person. Food ordered in room (because of covid) but there was a mix up (somebody else in the hotel didn’t get their food, maybe; we didn’t find out until later because we had so many foil-covered dishes to bring in ourselves from the cart in the corridor). Food looked nice, but was not that good (not hot, most vegetables undercooked, lack of taste, chicken dry), had obviously been sitting around for a couple of hours at the very least (to be fair we arrived quite late, but they could have just said it was too late to offer full diner service) and very expensive. Shower had no pressure.
The cherry on top was our discovery the next day that they charge you 15 euro for a “late” checkout (only 2 hours) - never heard of this anywhere in the world.

Stayed for 3 nights on a bed and breakfast deal through Booking.com. Efficient check in, and our room was clean and the air con/heating worked well, which was good as the duvets were a little thin.
Breakfast was the usual self service buffet and the coffee from a machine.
We enjoyed our stay, very relaxing which is what we came to do and the hotel is about a 25/30 min walk from the city centre.

We lunched here with two couples. I had to ask to see menus. It took a long time before our orders were taken and even a longer time before the meals were served. I must say my broodje kroket was good but the others had uitsmuiter. The bread was cold with cold cheese and cold ham with three fried eggs.

Hotel de Wageningse Berg is situated on a fantastic location. With panoramic views on the river de Neder-Rijn and wide green meadows on the sides of it. Furthermore, right next to the hotel lies a beautiful botanic garden (Arboretum). Furthermore, the service in the restaurant is great and so are the food and the accompanying wines. Value for buck!!

Nice hotel in beautiful surroundings. We had a suite with bubblebath. Nice staff ( especially cleaning staff) and breakfast. After breakfast in the morning hiking in the forest and botanic garden belmonte.
Only bummer we’re fridge not working and bath slippers size to small for adult men. My size is 43

It will take approximately 30-40 minutes for a person to walk to downtown. To the main road it’s 3-400 yards, but unfortunately I don’t know the bus schedules. Taxis are far between in Wageningen, not unusual to wait for 30 minutes. I will definitely live somewhere down town next time I visit.
Not sure, we did have late dinners as well but pre informed the hotel. I am sure they will arrange something if you send them a mail and ask. The hotel staff is very flexible.
