Our journey in Catalunya continued, we have tried more than 10 restaurants in various cities and only one got close to the food quality we have experienced with Alicia, let alone none provided the personal touch. We are not the only one spoiled by the gourmet and wine experience, Ethan, our 3 year old son, now started saying he wants...

My husband and I spent two weeks in Barcelona during May 2013. As part of the planning for the trip, my husband requested that I find an opportunity to take a cooking lesson so that he could improve his paella making skills. After reviewing numerous classes offered in Barcelona, I concluded that the best class was not in Barcelona, but...

Catacurian is just the type of experience that one longs for when traveling - a glimpse into the kitchen and markets of Catalunya. Alicia welcomed us into her very comfortable home, fed us, taught us traditional Catalan techniques in the kitchen, nourished and enriched our lives. We left with new knowledge and new friends and a very happy stomach! In...

My girlfriend and I took the one day Priorat wine tour and cooking class. It was simply wonderful! We were staying in Barcelona and did the trip by train. Barcelona has three main train stations. The one nearest to our hotel was Sants Estacio. The train ride takes about two hours and will take you to the small station of...

Our 4 day experience at Catacurian allowed us to renew our contact with the earth and it's fruits, to thank every day the sun that warms the vines and all the vegetables and products than in Alicia's cazuelas (pans ) reach all their flavors. Alicia's hands like a sorcerer prepares the best of the Catalan grandmother's dishes helped by Mayte,...

Alicia is simply a magical person; a lover of life and living. Visiting Catacurian feels like being with people you have know and loved for ages, and Alicia cooks and treats you like that grandmother who always knew how to make the food that warmed your soul (though Alicia is far too youthful and lovely to actually be your grandmother)....

Everything you have read about this wonderful cooking vacation is 100% true and is even more amazing after you experience the wonderful food, wine and people. I have been on many cooking vacations, Provence, Florence, Mexico and in the US. This was by far the best cooking vacation (and maybe best vacation ever) I have had. My girlfriend and I...

Just back from a 4 day stint at Catacurian with Alicia and 3 of my friends for the class on Rice. Alicia, Maite and DooBop made it homey, comfortable and interesting. Every day was an adventure. We visited wineries, the rice farm and factory, and the first Monestary in Spain. The weather was perfect. We enjoyed walking on the trails...

Just finished a 6 day stay at Catacurian with Alicia, Maite and of course DooBop. Alicia's home is beautiful, and the accommodations are comfortable and welcoming. Each couple had a large bedroom with private bath including an awesome shower and plenty of towels. We were greeted each morning with a plentiful breakfast that paired healthy (granola, fruit and some amazing...
