We spent 7 nights in this paradise lost in the middle of the countryside surrounded by mountains (Although the city center of Arta is quickly accessible by car (10 minutes) It was extremely rejuvenating and so beautiful! The view was breathtaking. We were won over by the quality of the infrastructure and materials. The staff is adorable. The spa services are incredible, especially the massages performed by Damiano, who transports you to another world. The buildings, both modern and old, are beautiful and there is a great sense of detail. The breakfast buffets are wonderful and the meals in the Bistrot Badia as well. There is so much more to praise but the text will be too long to write about all the beautiful things about this hotel. We had a wonderful stay. Thanks warmly to all the team of the Hotel Carrossa!…
Stayed for a long weekend with friends. The rooms are fantastic and it is so quiet and peaceful a good nights sleep is guaranteed. The hotel has a high position and so commands amazing views in all directions. Lovely pool and spa. Restaurants good (we like the views and wider menu of the bistro over the Carrossa restaurant) and excellent wine list (albeit we only tried the Mallorca wines which were all really good). It isn’t an adult only hotel but there isn’t a huge amount for children or teenagers to do and the beach is 20minutes away).
It was really difficult to rate this because there are a lot of aspects of the property that are 5* but I definitely wouldn’t return. You know when you do your research that this property is very remote so unless you have a car you’re going to really struggle to mobilise around the island. There are towns nearby and there’s various beaches and resorts within 15/20 mins drive. We went to many places during our visit by car. It’s a stunning property, well designed for able bodied people and tastefully decorated. I loved the room. It was spacious, comfortable and clean. The pool is ample sized for the amount of guests that were here in August. I never struggled for a sun lounger. There are some reviews on here that have criticised it not being an adult only hotel and the hotel have responded to say it is a diverse hotel and they welcome everyone. You can’t argue with that when booking a child friendly hotel. However I do agree with other reviews that with the exclusive vibe of the property, it would be better suited as adult only, unless they were to build a children’s pool for them to play in as they can be quite disruptive in the pool area. Now for the worst part of the review: the breakfast experience and lack of air con in all of the buildings. The only sanctuary from August heat you will get is in your room. No where seems to have air con - either in the buildings where the rooms are, where food is served, the bar etc. we didn’t opt to sit in the lounge areas or the bar for this very reason. In 30+ degree heat it was very uncomfortable (if perhaps you’re not used to these temperatures). Breakfast is served in a restaurant with no air con, with a slatted roof that they don’t seem to close, and glass sliding doors that due to the lack of air con, are open as well. In 35 degrees the sun is beaming in there’s no respite from the heat, and there was a swarm of wasps constantly which were bothering you at your table and were going all over the food in the buffet area. From day 2 I saw staff trying to deal with the wasps by using bug spray and placing incense on the tables and in the buffet areas. This helped a little but didn’t prevent it completely. The breakfast had a small but something-for-everyone al a carte menu and the buffet had something everyone could eat, but it was more on the exclusive/healthy side. If you’re a full English and a few courses kind of person you’d struggle to fill your bags here. I really didn’t enjoy breakfast because of the heat and the wasps. They need to invest in air con and shut the roof and doors so people are cool and aren’t bothered by bugs. The staff were lovely and attentive, couldn’t fault them. All in all it is a 5* property but I wouldn’t return because it’s too remote and I struggled with the lack of air con (I don’t think I’ve mentioned it enough…). If you don’t mind the issues I’ve mentioned then I’m sure you’ll love it!…
As the title suggests. Wondering hotel setting, lovely rooms, if you get the right one, first one was not nearly as well laid out or naturally lit. The spa facilities are exceptional, as was the quality of the dinners and lunch (breakfast Ok). Service was very poor all round (save the bar). If you vacation for prompt well curated service, this is not the place, but all in all, very good hotel at a reasonable price point and can recommend going! 👍
Just what we needed. Great breakfasts - something for everyon & freshly cooked eggs to order, great views covering more than 180 degrees, amazing pool, sun loungers and service, delicious dining. Stunning!
Another side of Majorca . Away from the biz of the beaches . The hotel definitely met our expectations for a quiet break in the sunshine . The staff were very attentive , however like the rest of Europe a few more staff in restaurants would have been good .
This hotel is truly outstanding - so relaxing and beautifully appointed. If you appreciated excellent service in stunning surroundings you will be thoroughly spoiled by Carrossa. My teenage daughter enjoyed a 5 night stay and felt totally relaxed and everything was excellent
We spent three nights here. Highlights - large room, friendly staff, Badia restaurant, beautiful setting, good value Improvement - not a lot of breakfast options (predominantly continental, very few cooked items) Felt like more of a 4 star Recommendation: Need a car to get around as it is very remote
We had a wonderful time in Carrossa. Stayed for 5 nights, came to recharge batteries and what a place we’ve chosen! Simply the best hotel I’ve visited! You could start with comfortable room (petite suite). Ours was secluded with nice terrace, very nicely furnished. The room was being constantly cleaned whenever we left several times each day. You could talk about great setting with unbelievable views, that would charm you every morning during breakfast. Restaurants with great execution of meals, attention to details. For us the better one was Bistro Badia, where we’ve been almost alone every time, served with lightning speed, and the meals should be awarded… You could talk about generous spa, nice pools, massages that really help you fell better… But it would not work without the personell, those great people, who make you feel welcome, always smiling, always helpful. And them we would like to sen big THANK YOU. We’ve been to many luxury hotels before, but its the people, who make it exceptional.…
We had a wonderful week in April at Carrossa. Exceptional service, food and location and beautiful rooms in the old building. The spa is a real treat with a generous pool, great gym and huge sauna area. Strongly recommend this for a peaceful adult retreat, and perfect too for our A level revising 18 year old.
