We stayed for one night in June. Surprisingly easily found if you follow the hotel direction signs rather than the GPS ! As others have mentioned, the car park is pricey, but is secure and on site, if somewhat cramped. The option is to use public/on road parking with somewhat of a hike uphill to the property. There is a... More

If you could decide the perfect spot for a hotel in Hondarribia this would be it. Of course the location was decided a thousand years ago because of the views across to France checking for any army wanting to kick you out of the castle this hotel once was. The entrance is quite breathtaking, it is a mix of oak,... More

A different experience than a modern hotel, but with all the convenience you get in a luxery hotel. Lovely architecture in this medieval building that originates thousand years ago. We didn't have a sea view room, but with windows in to the patio/courtyard. We had very nice and calm breakfast there. We got the beautiful view from the terrace of... More

This is an old 10th century castle with all modern conveniences. Breathtaking views from the terrace of the bay. Difficult access to the very limited parking up a very narrow lane. As others stated many steps both outside to access the main square and inside to reach your room. The inside staircase is dangerous with limited handrails and lighting. No... More

We like staying in paradors - and architecturally this one is stunning. A wonderful medieval building that's been well renovated with around 50 rooms. We'd asked for a quiet room on the top floor but were told, on arrival, none was available so we were put in a room a floor below. It was a superior room with a wonderful... More

We arrived late and were surprised t get a lovely room with a view of the bay on the second level. Avoid rooms on the first level bcs the window faces foot traffic on the bayside. Agree with Munfsrule that there is one female employee at the front desk that is not very welcoming, but the rest of the staff was... More

Amazing building with secure parking, friendly but sparce staff but no help offered with bags and a lot of stairs. They advised us where to find a whole street of restaurants just 5 mins walk down the hill. Lovely terrace for drinks overlooking the harbour, rooms have good harbour view too. Very pretty inner courtyards for drinks also. No air... More

This is a late medieval border fortress called Charles V Castle. Very impressive, with internal patios, lovely rooms, big and decorated so that they fit the place. view is spectacular on the estuary of the river separating Spain from France. It has its own parking

Lovely old building, and the public areas were well refurbished, but the service was poor. We were greeted by a grumpy receptionist who handed us the key and pointed us in the direction of the rooms, and said it's down there. As she walked away, she threw over her should "welcome". I guess they have been told to say that!... More

This hotel was enchanting as it spills out directly to the town square. It has a wonderful feel, like you are between a museum and a castle. Amenities are not over the top, but make up for by being inside the walled city. Parking is not intuitive, but know if you are driving up the hill you are going in... More
