We were warmly welcomed in this quiet hotel set in the hills. The room was comfortable and nicely decorated, we appreciated the surroundings providing hikes and walks. The only drawback was that there wasn't any restaurant or bar.

We spent four nights here in early February for a long weekend break. The finca is north of Aracena in beautiful rolling green countryside. There is a main hotel, but we stayed in one of the bungalows (alquerias). At this time of year, you do need to wrap up as it can get cold and damp in these parts, yet... More

The reception was warm and very welcoming. Stunning cottages with a lovely atmosphere. They do not serve dinner every night, especially during winter. The cottages are self catering so you can prepare your own food.

The highlight of our recent trip to Spain was staying in the verdant small mountains of northern Huelva where the terrain captures the scant moisture that passes from the south over the plains of Andalucia. And by far the nicest place we stayed in this region (and in all of Spain) was the Finca Valbono. The young couple who has... More

We stayed in a bungalow apartment in the grounds. We found the first bungalow rather dark and gloomy and the receptionist Rocia was extremely helpful in arranging for us to move to one that suited us better as she was with our other requests (valuables in the safe, borrowing hair dryer etc). We were staying for two weeks to go... More

This is not a bad place although in my opinion a bit neglected. It wasn't very full when we stayed there. Laundry services is great and breakfast is nothing to write home about but good. Its a very quiet and peaceful place. Bugs can be a bit of a problem in the warmer seasons. Wifi was bad so if you... More

We stayed in one of the chalets in the first week of January. It was lovely and warm, despite chilly outside temperatures at night. Comfortable and included an excellent breakfast. Very welcoming, friendly people with plenty of good recommendations for local walks. A perfect start to the year. We had dinner in the restaurant every evening, see separate report!

We stayed for 3 nights in the main hotel building. The room was very good and the view from the balcony was fantastic the sunrise especially. We used the pool and the grounds are nice to walk round. We didn't use the restaurant as we like to eat in different places. The town of Aracena is just 2km away and... More

I was looking for a place away from the August crowds where I could relax on the way to Southern Spain. This place fitted the bill very very well. It is close to Aracena but protected from the town by hillocks and trees, so very peaceful. The hotel appears to be an old mansion, with high ceilings, a dignified entry... More

We spent a wonderful Easter holiday in the natural park of Sierra Aracena y Picos Aroche. Delightful landscapes, wonderful paths to enjoy, and superb food. We lived in a cozy lounge, andalusian style, with fire place and kitchenette to cook at wish. Very enjoyable staff, always helpful to suggest the best spots to visit and best restaurants for a splendid... More
