Excellent accomodation. Each room was named after a monk, (Thomas (Thome)was ours) great view over the valley. We only stayed one night as we were travelling the entire country but could easily have stayed longer. Short but memorable. Breakfast was superb and dinner was excellent with a real twist on unique mushroom soup......definitely left Campbell's standing. The staff was very... More

Everything about this place was fabulous. The food in the restaurant was magnificent. The rooms were spacious and clean. And the history of the building was great to explore. You do need a car . It is hidden away in the hills. A wonderful stay. we had a wonderful view of the valley

This hotel which is one is one of the Pousadas in Portugal is excellent. In the UK this standard of hotel would definitely have five stars. The room was quiet, clean and spacious. The food in the restaurant was superb and the choice for breakfast was extensive. Despite the pool being rather cold (it was only May) we did swim and... More

This uniquely situated property set in a quiet location 5 minutes drive from Belmonte has king size beds, large bright rooms and modern bathrooms with bidets. The main rooms, part of the old convent are warren- like and are furnished with many different sized rooms with antique furniture for cozy conversations. The small swimming pool was refreshing, and the scenery... More

Located in a former convent, less than 2 km from the centre of Belmonte town. The place is cozy, not big with views to the Estrella national park. The rooms are modern, well equipped we had a room with a terrace with excellent views. The place is quite, peacful with all kinds of beautiful public spaces, as you imagine a convent looked in the middle... Superb rural setting. Quiet peaceful location with welcome swimming pool to relax by. Food is excellent and worthy of a Michelin star, staff courteous and helpful, and the accommodation is very comfortable although room Frei Octavio did smell of damp.

The room is a very good size, chairs and bed very comfortable , beautiful furniture all over the place,we had a room with a view of the mountains. Dinner and breakfast were very good , all the personnel nice and willing to help. Shall recommend it.

After coming from a somewhat noisier place the silence in the Pousada was deafening. We were received very hospitable and have enjoyed 2 days of relaxing, nice food, the fantastic view, the large comfortable room, the pool and the nice surroundings. Very good price quality ratio.

Isolated location 1km from the village but this old convent has so much character. The rooms are named after Friars, ours was Humberto! Splendid views over the valley and mountains. The restaurant was good too with choices that included wild boar and large prawn. We took advantage of using the pool area for a spot of sun, towels provided and... More

This is a converted convent. Each room is named after a monk. Would advise a room near to Reception as ours was down a long corridor and, when we reached the room, we found that the electronic card didn't work. This mean a long walk back. This is OK if you are a monk with time on your hands but... More
