A real portuguese rural house, great charme, quiet, with gardens, very near to Lisbon centre (10 min driving + 30 min ferry, or by bus) . Warm welcoming by the local lady Mrs Robelio, flexible and helping. A place to go for relax after a day in hectic Lisbon. Some apartments have kitchenette and private garden. Excellent for couples and also for families. Warmly recommended.
Excelent place to stay. So calm and quiet with all that you deserve for a great rest. Room was big and had all you need. The garden and the pool….perfect. Very good breakfast and the staff was great. Its very well located in river front and near great restaurants. Highly recommeded
A wonderful hotel situated in an old renovated stable complex. Quiet environment with trees, gardens, pool, comfortable rooms & caring hosts. Excellent base for birdwatchers looking to explore the Tagus estuary. Breakfast was fresh, tasty and with good variety of fruits, breads, cereals (and of course the Pasteis de Nata).
We had a two night stay here towards the end of March as our accommodation whilst on a bird watching tour. What a fantastic place. It's so quaint and we loved it. Our room was really big and so unique. The breakfast room is out of the courtyard and in a door on the street and is in a converted cellar/storage room with so much character. The choice of food for breakfast and the quality and arrangement of it was really good. The gardens are a delight and we took the time to explore one morning before setting off for the day. We stayed in four different places during our trip to Portugal and this was our favourite by far. We hope to return again.
Very well located in an authentic and charming waterfront village, just 20min off Lisbon airport. This place breathes history, and the big garden was a real surprise. Great breakfast and friendly personnel!
Ho was charming and helpful, and made our stay a pleasure. Tea/hot chocolate and cake on arrival was unexpected but lovely. The exceptional breakfast in the old wine cellar absolutely delighted us with its simple but fresh, melt-in-the-mouth flavours! A lovely location - a wonderful alternative for anyone wanting to glimpse a calmer, more real way of life than that found in bustling Lisbon.
Finding the entrance isn't easy (see pix) and, arriving late, finding someone to handle reception isn't easy. Not a good start - but everything else about this hotel was enchanting. My room was a mixture of traditional and ultra-modern. It looked out into the cobbled courtyard. The excellent breakfast was served in what appeared to be an entirely separate, but charming, ancient vaulted place down the street. Behind the courtyard and games room are (surprisingly) the orchard, the garden, the tennis court and the pool. The wonderful Robelia's English is just about enough. The last time I tried to review this hotel, it was rejected because they thought I must be an employee. Yes, it really is THAT good!
This hotel looks rather average from the street but once inside there is a spacious courtyard with the rooms opening onto it and a huge beautiful garden with a swimming pool and even a tennis court . Also a games room . The rooms are very spacious with a comfortable bed and our room even had a kitchen and two rooms in the loft. the staff were friendly and helpful and overall our stay was memorable. there are numerous restaurants within easy walking distance and aslo a decent supermarket. Definitely t5o be recommended.
After you have found the entrance, you enter a pretty courtyard with a gate to the peaceful garden. The room was nice and clean. Breakfast was really good, with lots of fresh rolls and fruit. Alcochete is a really good site for birdwatching.
It was a bit by accident we stayed here. But they offered pool, tennis court and games room which was good for kids. Copious breakfast and handy mini bar fridge in the room. I liked the way the room opened out onto a couryard so each room had its own front door. The lady who runs it only speaks German, which was fine for us. The area looks out to the Tejo river with sweeping views and there are simple Portuguese restaurants to eat at, great prices and you can practice your language as one place we went to didn't have any spoken English and only one hand written menu. It was great, fresh fish & jug of wine for two under 20 euros. Alcochete is not a scenic place so I wouldn't recommend it for that.
