Detailed Reviews
This wonderful high standard hotel, isn't really a hotel. It is a private country farm with high quality suites geared for rural tourism, conveniently separated from the owners main house.
The whole farm is maintained in pristine condition with its typical white and yellow exterior walls and with impeccable service, suitable even for the most demanding guests.
The setting is peacefully breathtaking and you could swear you can hear the silence, whilst relaxing in the pool and watching the lazy green fields that stretch up the Serra de Ossa and down the opposite valleys.
The food and wines are excellent, traditional southern portuguese, sometimes with a twitch of Nouvelle.C. and I can assure you you will not be disappointed in this respect. Meals can be served in one of the 2 rooms suited for that purpose, both decorated with high quality materials and enough space for almost anything you think of doing there.
The suites are spacious, tastefully decorated and equipped with giant flatscreen tv's. Most have a private ground level patio, living room, bathroom and sleeping room, all with good size for more than a couple and though the standard is high, the ambience is also informal enough to make you feel at home.
The pool is set nearby the guests' suites, but far enough not to bother them with unwanted noise. It is around 20m long and big enough for the guests staying in the 8 (I think) suites which are available for visiting guests. There, you can either relax on the high quality stretchers sitting around the pool, or in the very comfortable poolhouse sofas nearby. There is also a completely separate cottage, if you are into extreme privacy.
The lady owner is an example of hospitality and kindness, matched only by the rest of her staff.
All in all, an extremely enjoyable and quiet country side weekend, with good food and in a setting to die for. Nearby attractions include a medieval convent, sightseeing spots in the Serra d'Ossa, megalithic monuments, boar hunting, field walking and the clay museum in Redondo.
Don't even think once... just go and spend some wonderful days at Agua d'Alte !

We hugely enjoyed our three nights in a little cottage at Agua d’Alte. The rooms were charming with simple, but elegant decoration - and it was great to have our own space. The pool was lovely and the never too crowded given the property has only a small number of rooms. We ate in every evening and although the menu is very basic, it was very tasty. A great base to explore the surrounding countryside before retreating to the pool when the weather gets too hot!

This is a excelent place to rest.
The room was tastefully decorated, very clean and with a lot of space.
For breakfast you have to go to the big house... it was just delightful... several delicacies of the Alentejo region, and home made jams and cakes...
For dinner we went to a very close restaurant... it was also great.
Hope to go back

The owners simply don't have a clue about welcoming guests.Be very carefull after 12:30 pm (check out time) they simply put you OUT from the facilities....
The treatment given to customers was a total shame.

We found this place for a long weekend hiking trip. The place is very tastefully designed with a lounge, eating area, pool barn and beautiful gardens. Unfortunately we experienced bad weather and could not enjoy all the facilities but the location provided for a change of plan! the hotel is situated between Redondo and Estremoz, an Alantejo wine region so we decided to visit some vineyards instead!

Everything about this place is just right: the estate, the rooms, the decoration (cozy and sofisticated). We spent a weekend to celebrate our wedding aniversary and it was very romantic: we had our very own cottage, the owners were very helpful, the surrondings are beautiful and Breakfast was great ( felt like you were a house guest with the maid providing eggs any stile and bread straight out of the oven).

Just 1h15m by car from Lisbon airport, this is an excellent luxury rural hotel to rest and enjoy Nature.
The decoration, cleanliness and food are very good. It is better to travel around by car, but it is also good to walk around in the coutryside. The owner of the house will give you good advise of what to do. Évora, Estremoz and Redondo are nice places to visit with traditional shops, good quality Portuguese brands, excellent price/quality restaurants. I will definetely go back! Visit this website to know more about Alentejo, Portugal http://www.visitalentejo.pt/en/

A beautiful, cozy and sophisticated rural hotel where details matter and effort is put to the guests well-being. Friendly and informal welcome makes one feel at home. Wonderful breakfast with organic choices. A short drive away from Estremoz, Vila Viçosa and Évora, the perfect place for a weekend get-away. Calm and peaceful, with a heated outdoors pool, a breathtaking landscape and a library for guests. Internet is slow and on-and-off.

Every year we travel with the same group of old friends to a good place in Portugal to be together, to enjoy good food and relax for 3 days. Every year the expectations are very high and we do resarch a lot. Agua d'Alte was fantastic, with awsome decor, warm hospitality and fantastic food ( we ate 3 meals and love it). But the best was to be toghether outside watching star filled nights or the views of the sheep in the field while relaxing at the pool.

Casa d'Alte is a fantastic place, on the road from Redondo to Serra de Ossa
It is a private country farm with very tastefull decorated rooms. In front of your room you have olive trees and you can see some birds and sheeps.
The service is excellent and the staff makes you feel very wellcome.
The first night we had dinner, and what a dinner. It is absolutely in line with everything else, very, very good.
Breakfast is served in the dinning room, and is very good, in quantity and quality. The home made jams are excellent.
We didn't use the pool because it was February, but we saw it, and the surrounding area, must be fantastic in summer time.
