We hugely enjoyed our three nights in a little cottage at Agua d’Alte. The rooms were charming with simple, but elegant decoration - and it was great to have our own space. The pool was lovely and the never too crowded given the property has only a small number of rooms. We ate in every evening and although the menu is very basic, it was very tasty. A great base to explore the surrounding countryside before retreating to the pool when the weather gets too hot!
This is the lowest rate I’ve ever used. I spent 3 nights here with my husband. The location and conditions of Água d’Alte are very good but it seems there is no one running the business. D. Rosa does an amazing job but there’s only so much one person can do. The best pro was the massage in the spa area. The biggest cons were the almost inexistent internet connection and the lack of attention to the client/shortage of staff (this is peak season and there was basically no one at the reception desk, imagine the rest of the hotel). If you want a snack or light meal at lunch time (in a specific time frame) you have to order it during the morning, so D. Rosa makes it for you. The same for a light dinner (there aren’t any “full” meals at any hour). Breakfast is barely enough and average quality. To replace online activities, there are some board games and dvds, which are stored in the reception area and breakfast room, and get locked away somewhere around 9pm (so you can’t access them and kill some time before going to bed, for example). Prices are through the roof.…
Agua d'Alte is a wonderful country lodge, very well appointed, cosy and very confortable. The suroundings are superb and you can admire them when relaxing at the gorgeous swimming pool. It is ideally located for visiting Alentejo, very close to Estremoz right at the Serra d'Ossa. The restaurant is very nice, fresh and home made food from Alentejo. All was excellent.
We found this place for a long weekend hiking trip. The place is very tastefully designed with a lounge, eating area, pool barn and beautiful gardens. Unfortunately we experienced bad weather and could not enjoy all the facilities but the location provided for a change of plan! the hotel is situated between Redondo and Estremoz, an Alantejo wine region so we decided to visit some vineyards instead!
We went during Easter to this great Country House. Three days and nights very relaxing where we had the best slipping nights I remember for long time. The house, rooms and surroundings are very well decorated. Lots of charm and cosy at same time. Extremely kind staff always there for you to help you with all your needs. We only had one meal at the house, but the breakfast is really great. Mrs Rosa and Maria João are extremely kind . We expect to comeback near summer with all family.
Idyllic location very close to Redondo Fabulously decorated place with fantastic service and frienship Very comfortable rooms, but the best is to enjoy dinner by the pool in a deep Alentejo with all the refinements of the true Alentejo tradition. A place that should be visited.
We warmly recommend this place to people who are seeking for relaxation and silence. The reception by the owner was warm, she gave great recommendation (restaurant in Estremoz, nautical activities and cute shops in Montaraz). As we were the only guets on 2 of the 3 days, breakfast was served privately on or own terrasse (thank you, Rosa and João!). The last night we could enjoy a romantic dinner at the pool lounge. Thanks to Rosa, we've had one of the best cod fish meals ever!!
We spent a week with our 4-years-old child at this beautiful and quiet place. Everything was perfect : the location, the accommodation, the pool, the food (we recommend the dinner option) and over all the kindness of the fantastic staff ! We highly recommend this place and hope the return there !
We spent five nights at Agua D'Alte in early December, and our stay was fabulous! Cristina, Mary and Rosa were delightful. Cristina helped plan and book our activities, Mary cooked our breakfasts and sweets, and Rosa cooked a delicious dinner. We highly recommend the dinner option, as it was delicious and representative of the region. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, complete with lovely patios. The grounds are expansive and designed to help you relax. Do yourself a favor... stay here, and leave yourself time to fully enjoy the B&B. Be sure to walk to the Anta Da Candeeria (dolmen) nearby, especially at sunrise. It's a beautiful and peaceful spot.
Very well located for visiting Estremoz, Evora, Monsaraz and many wineries and oak forests. Romantic pool(house). Cosy breakfast room. However, we didn't like the family room because of its small size ( officially 45 sq m ). Nice hacienda style main square. Very well maintained property and garden. Some very good dining options nearby ( O Chana de Bernardino, Convento Sao Paolo ). The double bed was rather narrow.
