Already at our arrival it became clear: The promise at their webpage was not exaggerated: Boutique hotel with 15 unique custom made rooms in an old farm house, a modern a la carte restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere in an old refurnished barn, being a perfect base for a stay in the middle of Fjord Norway. At the end of a three-weeks trip through southwest Norway we really enjoyed our stay at Store Ringheim and the warm and caring hospitality given by Svein, his wife Jorunn and their son Erlend. The farm has been for generations in their family and was converted into an extraordinary hideaway with unique customer made rooms even showing names instead of numbers thus reflecting their previous use at the farm. Our spacious double superior room was located in the Gardshuset with a fabulous mountains view and let nothing to be desired including all relevant state-of-the-art technology. Breakfast and dinner served at the restaurant "Floren" benefitted from products produced at the farms gardens and the families culinary skills and tradition. Although Covid-19 provided some challenges, they were mastered professionally and with a precautionary approach. We very much enjoyed our time a Store Ringheim and will certainly come back.…
We stayed in the “family room” that was nicely upgraded. Nice interior and exciting for the kids with a historic touch. The food in the restaurant was amazing. Local fish and lamb. Salads and strawberries from their own garden. This food was made with love! The owners of the place was so nice and gave great service. The location is perfect for day trips to all the outdoor activity Voss can offer. We can highly recommend this hotel.
A wonderful place to visit and dine at. Local food in beautiful surroundings, and the service just the best ever. We recommend Store Ringheim if you seach autencity and hospitality! Enjoy! This is Norway at its best. Kristin
Fantastic accommodations in a 1650 romantic room. Wonderful dinner and breakfast with home smoked meats & salmon. Friendly family operation assures a nice welcome. This would be a good hub location for day trips to surrounding towns. Walking paths to Folks Museum and city center. Outside dinner terrace overlooking Voss, lakes and mountains in warm weather is inviting.
We stayed at the Elde suite with the typical Norwegian decoration and a canapé double bed. We were told that the room we stayed in were from the 16th century (obviously refurbished) We went for the half board package including a 3 course dinner and breakfast. Surprisingly good!!! A bit pricy though... paid 135 NOK for a beer and 95 NOk for a glass of Malbec.... Anyway, a nice place on the CPI try side of u plan on visiting Voss and don’t mind to pay a bit :)
