We stayed 2 nights at Meleto attending a friend's wedding. We stayed INSIDE the castle which was cool. I called it the Scooby Doo Castle as it looked a little creepy like that, especially in the dark. The location is hard to find - your GPS might not even be sure, so go slow as it took 3 GPS running... More

Like many we came to Meleto as part of a substantial wedding group. The whole place which consisted of rooms in the castle and multiple other buildings in the grounds were different. We stayed in a 3 bed apartment at the top of the hill which was newly renovated, aircon and heating throughout and a kitchen with everything but an... More

What an amazing place for our friends wedding venue. Absolutely stunning scenery and use of the different areas of the castle for each part of the wedding (ceremony, drinks, wedding breakfast, party etc) Wifi doesn't work in the castle rooms but you can use it either in reception or if you are in one of the lodges. You do need... More

We stayed in all the apartments surrounding the courtyard. This is an amazing place to stay. The views over the castle and the surrounding landscape are breathtaking. We all got together in the evenings for fun and games without the worry of disturbing other guests. Perfect for a big group. The salt water infinity pool is almost outside the apartment... More

23 of us stayed at the Castle. Everyone had the most amazing time. Gabriella showed us the most amazing time, hosting a fantastic meal with a castle and wine tour. The venue is an old castle but that is it's magic. You really get away from everything. All of the apartments and room have modern facilities within them and every... More

The castle is amazing, views and just about everything, rooms are relatively basic but the history in them are magnificent! A car is a must in the area, and we would recommend stocking up on food and drink if you don't just want to drink wine but all in all we loved it and had a great time there

Poor hotel services, for example there are no glasses, safebox in the room, old equipments, need repairing, no reception during the evening. The breakfast is poor. There is no restaurant (it is closed), but they have a Michelin sign .. I do not understand .. Late check in (15.00) and eary check out (10.00). The landscape is beautiful.

Very beatiful place with a good wines and toors for tourists. In the same time quiet and sescluded from the main tourists rush. The wines were in a very good quality and reasonable price for central Europe.

Very nice Castle almost in the middle of nowhere you could say! The views are great, the staff helpful, the rooms nice and clean. And you can always go for dinner in the village 3 km away! It's worth it!!! Also the wine they make is pretty good!!!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Castello di Meleto is in the center of an ideal geographical triangle formed by the cities of Siena, Florence and Arezzo. Surrounded by six beautiful houses, painstakingly restored in 2000, preserving its rustic Tuscan style. Each house has a private garden or terrace that overlooks the countryside surrounded by green vineyards and olive groves.Easily accessible and close to the accommodation we have two infinity pools from which you can enjoy an unforgettable view. In the basement of the castle, a real historical monument, a charming wine shop allows you to taste our wines, our organic extra virgin olive oil and salami of Cinta Senese from our farm. On request we can organize banquets in medieval and Renaissance style in the picturesque setting of the frescoed rooms. In addition, daily guided tours of the ground floor of the castle, the eighteenth-century theater, the dungeons with ancient cellars, prisons and the secret tunnel to escape from the Castle .. will make you to live an unique and unforgettable experience in a real castle in the Chianti area.Daily walks are possible on roads and paths in the area. From the same roads, the "Eroica”, an fascinating extreme racing with vintage bikes, takes place every year. The staff of the Reception of the Castle will be pleased to arrange excursions departing from the Castello di Meleto to major art centers such as Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Arezzo and Val D'Orcia. On the territory of the Castle of Meleto guests can enjoy cycling, horse riding and walking, immersed in pristine nature of the Chianti hills. Our restaurant, “ La Fornace di Meleto” , at the bottom of the hill, offers typical Tuscan menu and innovative dishes. The Castle's history is also a history of Weddings, such as those of Alberto Ridolfi's daughter Lucrezia and, in 1852, Baron Bettino's daughter Elisabetta: it could also become the history of Your wedding, against a background imbued with extraordinary beauty.Meleto Castle can offer Religious ceremonies in its catholic church, the Pieve di Spaltenna. The Celebrations can be organized as you wish: the entire Piano Nobile (a series of furnished and frescoed rooms) can be put at Guests' disposal together with the garden, a splendid terrace overlooking the unspoilt panorama of the Chianti hills for enjoying a touch of sun, and the Stables ( Scuderia in Italian) , where guests can relax or let themself go in dancing. We specialise in providing the perfect atmosphere for a truly unique party, whether a Tuscan Castle wedding. ... more   less
