We just got back home to Denmark and we are feeling the wedding blues. What we wouldn’t do to experience that day once again! Thank you so much for making our day better than we could ever have imagined ❤️❤️❤️ We are struggling to find the right words for how amazing the days at your wonderful castle was! Just thank you!

I succumbed to the charm described on the website of this promising address by reserving a room for 2 nights directly by telephone, without going through Booking.com or others. The price was very high (540€ for 2 nights) but I wanted to treat myself. The reality was unfortunately different. Access road for 4x4 only, no place to drop suitcases at reception, room not very clean, no bottled water in the room, no high speed wifi as advertised, wet cushions on the chairs in the terrace, basic breakfast with fruit juice served in cardboard packs from the supermarket and to close it all, no hot water for the morning shower. Finally, when I announced my intention to leave with irritation of course, I was told that my second canceled night would never be refunded. In short, a dream promise turned into a nightmare at this property.

This place was amazing! We booked 3 nights, not knowing it was gonna be one of the best places we’ve ever stayed at. A beautiful castle, super friendly and helpful staff that attended our every need and delicious food and wine - we just had to stay there for a full week instead! If we could give more than 5 stars we would 🌟 For people looking for a great stay in Chianti, close to wineyards and to discover all that Tuscany can offer, Castello di Tornano is the place you should book!

This place definitely deserves a good review. It’s a proper castle, in every way you’d dare hope. It’s spectacular to explore, but the views in all directions are equally awesome. The sisters who own/run the place are great characters. We liked them very much. You’re pretty much free to explore the site, and climb the many steps to the roof of the castle as often as you like. All the staff are in fact lovely. There’s a little bar area where you sit at the terrace and glimpse through the trees to the mountains as the suns sets. The restaurant is a fab spot. The wine (their own) is nice but the food was so-so - particularly compared to some of the many excellent meals we had in Italy. But still worth trying out their restaurant for the location and experience. I hope I return someday.

We took a mixed age group family of 8 for a wine tasting at Tornano and it was everything you would want in a visit like that. Daniela was the most wonderful host. Making us all feel welcome, giving us a passionate overview of the property and the area. She has lived her whole life in Chianti and her love for her home / region is really amazing. The view from the tower is incredible, the history of the tasting room is fascinating and the wines and accompanying nibbles were delicious. We all loved it and can’t thank Daniela enough. We will be back.

I wish I could rate this 6 stars! Truly, my sister and I could not have had a better experience, and were so sad to leave. We stayed in the tower and it exceeded our expectations (which were quite high). Everything was beautifully decorated, comfortable and clean. The property was gorgeous and so peaceful - everywhere you went you were looking over rolling hills of vineyards and lush forests. And the FOOD! We had just come from Florence and this was better than the food we had there. The breakfast was amazing and plentiful. And of course the wine was delicious :) Last but certainly not least, everyone who worked there was tremendously kind, friendly and continuously went above and beyond - from answering my many questions via email, to helping us book a taxi. We will be recommending the Castello to anyone who plans to come to Italy! Definitely easiest to access if you have your own car, but we did not and still made it work :)

A friend had stayed here years ago, so on our day spent driving around Tuscany, we had to stop by. The drive up is very steep and narrow on gravel, but we made it up (and back down later, thankfully!). The woman we spoke with at the front desk was very nice and told us how to climb to the top of the tower to enjoy the views. The castle is awesome and there are plaques with history and facts. At the top of the tower they have a great little space with awesome views in every direction. My husband and I spent about 10 minutes up there soaking it in (along with the sun on a warm fall day) and then walked around the property a bit. We bought some wine and olive oil that they make and were on our way. I was told you can also schedule wine tastings here so I'd recommend that if the timing works out for you!

What an amazing place to stay and start the more magical trip to Italy. Barbara who was in charge of reception and guests was so helpful with arranging some fabulous meals and experiences such as wine tasting at the Castle itself and some fun spots near by. The room was wonderful and romantic. The restaurant staff were all friendly and we had a great dinner our first night. Breakfast and lunch were great too! I highly recommend this venue !

We spent 5 nights in the apartment La Spiga. The castle, the pool, the gardens, the terrace are really stunning and quiet! But our apartment were very very noisy because it is situated under an other family room and you hear everything the neighbours do (toilets etc.) We have been woken every night...which is not correct for this kind of hotel. Moreover, after 4 nights, we had to ask for new towels and for toilet paper...two times, at 9 am and at 2 pm because nothing happened. Not cleaning too much for ecology is nice, but after a few days, it would be more correct to change towels before guests ask you...we pay 250 eur a night. That means some services, more than just a minimum! The staff is nice, but when we ordered a Martini bianco in the garden, the woman told us twice she feels pity because it is not her job. Hahaha... Finally, some equipments should be changed: tables at the pool for example.

Thank you for the review It is thanks to your suggestions that in 2022 the Spiga flat will be converted into a junior suite without a kitchenette. Also improving soundproofing. As anticipated at check in cleaning in the flats are done after three days of stay. As it happened. As far as toilet paper is concerned, we provide it at the moment of your arrival, but as rent the customer is free to buy what he needs outside. We are also planning to have new outdoor furniture! We look forward to seeing you in 2022!

Beautiful castle with an amazing view of the Chianti vineyards. We loved the place. The staff was very friendly. Nice swimming pool. The access is a little difficult to find with Google maps. We had dinner at their restaurant and the grilled meat was delicious.
