We stayed here after spending a week in Rome and it was amazing! It was quiet, beautiful, and fit our party (three couples) well. We loved the quiet and the views of the fall vineyards and it was a great base for us as we traveled around the different small towns in Tuscany and wasn't too far of a drive from Florence. We also enjoyed their pets, Dotto the dog is a friendly face and their cat loved hanging out with us. We dined in their dining room for one meal, and it was super tasty. As we were trying to be more budget friendly we ended up trying to pick up food at local markets and restaurants rather than staying for all meals.
Awesome panoramic view. Quiet and secluded at the top of a hill. Great location. A short drive to town, groceries and many wonderful vineyards. Staff does not micro-manage. Very hospitable and welcoming. We will return to this place.
From the first sighting of this magnificent property set amongst Sangiovese vines to the day we said goodbye, we had a great week staying at Romitorio di Serelle. The hospitality is exceptional and Marco, Lorella and Roberto made us most welcome. Purchased in 1998 as a totally run down property, they have completed a superb restoration and renovation and it now boasts some 12-14 apartments. Breakfast and dinner are available on site should you wish .... but you are also invited to self cater! We enjoyed dinner twice in our week and it represented very good value for money. Wi Fi is available if you insist on keeping in touch with the World. A wine tasting by local wine personality Pietro was a nice touch and local wines are available to purchase on site, should you run out! A beautiful swimming pool, comfortable lounge area, private sitting and dining areas for each apartment, and magnificent views of the surrounding landscape make this a true treasure in Tuscany. We were blown away and strongly recommend this property to all ........ and such a good location for day trips to hilltop towns of Chianti, such as San Gimignano and Siena as well as the smaller towns of Castellina in Chianti and Radda in Chianti. A couple of minor improvements? Maybe a small starter pack of washing up liquid, tea bags, coffee and sugar would be useful. Some board games available in the lounge area would be welcomed. Otherwise ...... perfetto!!!!!!! …
We enjoyed 2 perfect weeks at Romitorio di Serelle The owners and whole team are all very friendly including dog and cat. The garden provides many spaces to find an area to sit and most apartments have in addition own areas The pool is big and many sun beds around provide shady or sunny spots Several times we have enjoyed the breakfast (big choice of different cakes, eggs, ham, fruits, yogurt, cheese ... you don’t need any plans for lunch for the day) The 4 course dinner is very nice as well, offered Wednesday to Sunday If we prepared breakfast ourselves, we added some figs directly from the tree
Our first time in Tuscany was made even better by Romitorio di Serelle's beautiful location and the warm hospitality of the hosts Marco, Lorella, and Roberto. Breakfasts and dinners were superb, and there were excellent alternative dining options within a few kilometers of this secluded hermitage/farmhouse. Conveniently located near Castellina in Chianti in one of the most scenic areas of Tuscany. What a great way to celebrate our 40th anniversary! We want to go back!
