We stayed at Il Granaio for a weekend. The site is a little way out of Modica so it is very quiet. The pool area is beautiful, lots of trees that create a pleasant atmosphere. Our room, a junior suite had all the amenities and included a jacuzzi. It was very comfortable. We had lunch a couple of times, everything was very fresh, and mouthwatering. Lunch is provided in the gazebo, the shade and breeze make it perfect for a summer lunch. We also enjoyed dinner at Il Granaio, a 4 course meal at only 28 euro per person, fresh, delicious ingredients, with the meal being provided in a balcony area overlooking the fields, it couldn't have been more beautiful. The service throughout was super. I sprained my foot quite badly whilst in Modica and the staff at Il Granaio were on hand to provide me with ice and offered to drive us to the pharmacy. They were really very kind. They also have a lovely spa where you can have a massage. Last thing, the cakes and sweets offered at breakfast time were delicious. Really well done Il Granaio, a beautiful location, great service and delicious food. Would love to visit again.

We just returned from a trip to Sicily and our first few nights were at this lovely resort. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the rooms were clean and well appointed and the grounds are beautiful. If you stay you must have the dinners there- they were the best we had during our vacation. You will not be disappointed. Highly recommend this hotel if you are staying near Ragusa.

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights. We arrived, by car, in some of the heaviest rainfall that we had experienced. But the welcome was warm and we really enjoyed our stay. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed. We were probably one of the most distant from parking and reception but WiFi was strong. On our first night, we ate locally, 500 metres away, but ate at the hotel restaurant on the second. Giovanni, the host, was very proud to tell us we were having olive oil which had been pressed that very morning!. The food was delicious and complemented by good local wine. Breakfast was also a delight. Our table neighbours were repeat returners from the Isle of Wight and we could understand what drew them back. Highly recommended and a good location for exploration.

This was our third visit to Il Graniao and I'm delighted to say it is still as wonderful as our previous stays. For us, it is our Sicilian "home from home" and we wouldn't consider staying anywhere else. As soon as we walk through the door, the stresses and strains disappear (only to reappear the minute we arrive at Catania Airport for our journey home - it is a nightmare of an airport). However, as soon as we get home we have the pleasure of remembering the wonderful holiday spent with Giovanni and his family. We spent 12 nights at Il Graniao, our longest visit so far, and were delighted with every meal eaten. All home made and, although dinner is a set menu, we were never disappointed. We used the Spa 3 times and had a couple of massages - all very luxurious. The property is comfortable, clean, the family and staff are very friendly and we will definitely return.

This location was the 4th place we stayed in an 8 day trip through Sicily, with each place in an agritourismo setting. It was by far the nicest facility operated by very nice people. The chef had the night off but we were recommended a restaurant just down the road 400 meters which was a good recommendation. The rooms were spacious and clean, grounds and facilities well maintained ( nice pool) but due to the time of year, not used. Breakfast in the morning was more than adequate. As an indicator of the quality of management a question was posed to the owner about the fruit of the cactus plant, and instead of settling for an explanation he took us to the back of the property, picked and prepared one for tasting. The only thing that marred our opinion was the challenge in finding the place. The GPS sent us repeatedly to a run down location with a huge ReMax realtor sign on it. It was found finally but not without an exasperating time. All other reasons would rate a 5 rating but a few other signs would be great.
