For us, this converted farmhouse was paradise for the two nights we stayed. The hosts, Francesco and Francesca, are extraordinary--warm, interested, helpful. We loved the charming restored rooms. The farm breakfast spread (including fresh-laid eggs!) is extraordinary and delicious. The b&b is a short drive from Scicli and Modica (about 10 minutes each), and only a little further to Ragusa,... I struggled even writing this review because I want to keep Villa Quartarella a secret it's that good. Francesco and Francesca are incredible hosts, they make every guest feel at home. Francesco seems to know exactly what each guest needs and gives individualized suggestions based on each personality. The farm is peaceful and relaxing, the rooms are inviting and soothing,... More

We loved our entire Sicily trip, but we brag about our stay at Villa Quartella. And how could you not?!? It’s a farm on the outskirts of Modica – with easy (and quick ) access to Ragusa and Scicli as well. The perfect home base. But, as a farm, it just feels slower. More quaint. Of course, the high quality... More

You’ll need a car to take advantage of this quiet and attractive B&B, which arose from an old farm located a few miles outside of Modica. Set amid fields and pastures, a cluster of former farm buildings (hence, “masseria”) has been beautifully rehabilitated into spacious guest and common rooms with modern facilities and amenities. It’s well situated for visiting the... More

Fantastic! Run, don't walk to your computer or phone to book a stay at Francesco and Francesca's farm in the country. We felt like we were in a timeless movie, like Cinema Paradiso. You pull into the courtyard of the farmhouse, and the effect is stunning. The farmhouse is beautifully renovated, and a new section on the end has been... More

Francisco was the perfect host who couldn't do enough for us, he's full of great stories and was especially welcoming to the children. Our room was beautifully appointed, the breakfast was great (fresh from the chickens, homemade marmalade etc) All round a great 2 nights in a charming and well renovated farmhouse location. Can't recommend it enough and we're definitely... More

Combine Francesco's congenial personality and hospitality with a stunning, converted farmhouse in a wonderful setting and you get the best experience for accommodation in Sicily. Breakfasts were superb with Francesco holding daily court with his guests and keeping us all amused with his humorous banter and anecdotes. The B&B, once you learn how to find it, is well-located for day... More

We stayed three nights here and truly enjoyed Francesco's hospitality and lovely B&B. The rooms are large and spotlessly clean and the grounds are beautiful with flowers, grape vines, fruit trees all around. Villa Quartarella is a fantastic home base from which to explore nearby towns and a wonderful retreat to return to. Francesco is informative and really helpful, speaking... More

Highly recommend this rural and characterful accommodation. A great base to explore the landmarks of the Baroque Triangle and only a 15-20 minutes drive to the beautiful town of Scicli stunningly situated in a gorge. Francesco was a wonderful host and could not have been more helpful in terms of restaurant tips and advice. The breakfast room experience was made... More
