I have found this place and it was a surprice for my family and friends. They wanted to stay longer at the sea and not to change for another place. But when we arrived, after a few minutes my son told me. "Mum, this is the place, where you want to come for a half of year and write a book We all loved this place iimmediately. First of all it has wonderful atmosphere. You feel like living in old times. The rooms are in traditional Sicilian style and fitted with all the facilities and comforts that one can wish for. We also liked the breakfasts - really fantastic. Silence, and birds, and beautiful smells... Thanks to Francesco, there was very pleasant , family atmosphere, he boiled fresh eggs for us every morning. We liked also home made marmelades, croissants... And Francesco was always ready to help us with anything, giving us very good advice about everything. He booked a dinner for us in the restaurant and we have never eat such excellent Pasta di Norma. Yes, this is the place, where you can feel Sicily.

We stayed with Francesco for 10 nights in October. What a fantastic place this is and he is the consummate host. We echo all the previous reviews - this is the best B&B we have ever stayed at. Nothing is too much trouble. We arrived late Sunday afternoon after having a tyre blow-out. Following two full days of rain in which Francesco kindly went out for pizzas and provided wine to save anyone going out in the awful weather, he also went with my husband in our hire car to have the tyre replaced at a local garage. This was way above and beyond anything we had expected. Always on hand to provide everything from directions, recommendations for dinner and where to go sightseeing. He even took us to the nearest beach one day and provided chairs and an umbrella. Oh, and I forgot to mention he cleaned the car for us a couple of times. How many other hosts would do that? Breakfast was an array of sweet and savoury including fresh eggs from the family hens. Suffice to say we would wholeheartedly recommend Villa Quartarella and are already reviewing our holiday plans to fit in another trip back to Sicily.

Although the weather was rainy upon our arrival into Sicily, Francesco made it unforgettable and very enjoyable He brought in pizza due to the weather and his concern for his guests. He also had a tray of delicious Modica pastries the next afternoon. Having the kitchen area and large gathering room really made it so welcoming for guests to gather. Francesco's love of Sicily ~It's culture and history are captivating!! The accomodations were spacious ~the breakfast delicious and the hospitality topnotch ! Mille Grazie !

What a lovely place to stay. It is spotlessly clean and the accommodation is excellent. What really makes this such a nice place to stay though is Francesco. Such a warm welcome, and then he will run through the places you might like to visit - including tips on where best to park without having to pay and good reasonably priced local restaurants. We only had two nights here in our visit to Sicily and really wished we'd been able to stay longer. It is extremely good value for money. Thank you Francesco (and your excellent assistant Giovanni!)

When people go to Sicily, this is the experience they go for. Francesco was the consummate host, the facilities were exceptionally clean, the breakfast was so filling and he had the best tips on where to go in the area and even better where to park for free. We went into the area with a good idea of what we wanted to do and based on Francesco's advise we turned it upside down and don't regret a bit of it. The local history of the B&B and all the artifacts found in the surrounding area just added to the charm. Highly recommend and would go back in a heart beat.
