This is a well run hotel with lovely staff. The rooms are modern and comfortable with excellent bathroom, ac and wi fi. Breakfast is generous and varied - we'd been spoiled by some really gourmet breakfasts at other places but the quality was reasonable. The location, just a hundred metres or so from Ortygia island is good and parking is often easy in the street outside, though difficult on weekend nights when you may need to park at an open car park very close by. I think next time I would prefer to stay on the island if parking is available, however, as it is not as difficult to drive onto the island as I'd feared. Siracusa is an excellent town with a lot to see and do and a good base for day trips to the south. While the hotel and staff are excellent I found it a little clinical and lacking character after staying in more homely places, but that's a matter of taste. The no food or drink in rooms rule is very old fashioned and disappointing in what is otherwise such a friendly and helpful place.
