Cannot say enough about our wonderful time at Casina Incocco. The rooms were spacious and bright. It is so very authentic but somehow they managed to add modern upgrades without changing the original character of the villa. Marjie and Fiorenzo were unbelievable hosts and would help us plan our day trips everyday and provide directions and maps. You get a true sense of the local Italian lifestyle and culture. Rosy the dog is adorable and we became quite attached to her. We would definitely go back again.
Exceptional host, food and location. Best stay I have ever had and luckily fantastic weather too! The horses and dogs are adorable and Margie and Fiorenzo are more than happy to suggest the best local places to visit.
This was our third place to stay on our trip and it was a drastic departure from the elegance of the Hotel Val Di Sogno. This is truly a working farm with horses and chickens and such. But what a wonderful experience we had. Fiorenzo and Marjie were so warm and generous and gracious that it was a pleasure to stay here the three nights. The room was large as was the bathroom. (though for those who are shy, the glass wall in the bathroom looking out into a field might be a problem) The bed was ok. I expected a little more comfort from this famous bed they spoke of, but that was a minor point. Breakfast was awesome. The focaccia Fiorenzo makes is the best I've ever had, the homemade bread was delicious, and the cakes were heavenly. Eating in the old church was neat also. It is quiet, peaceful, and has a lovely view. We came late here the first day and the restaurants up above the inn in the small village were having their off day and so Fiorenzo drove us down into Arona, made a reservation at a fantastic restaurant, and then picked us back up again. Now that's better service than any hotel or pension I have ever been to! And he's funny on top of it all. What a great person. The church is open unlocked at night and you can go in make yourself a pot of tea or coffee and snack on any left over cakes and jams sitting there. And you have to try Fiorenzo's coffee. Wonderful! The only problem we had was the dirt road that leads the last 300 meters or so to the inn. If one can even call it a road. It is full of gullies running across it that are deep. Our car scrapped several times and it was rather disconcerting to drive it at night. Don't come here with your Porsche. And make sure to write down the directions that they give on their website as your GPS will not find it and will take you to a field that isn't even close. The signs are rather difficult to see if you don't know where to look and you think that you're driving onto someone's farm at times. But when you find it, it will be worth it.…
The most amazing place to stay near Arona. Cannot recommend highly enough, the accommodation is fantastic - huge rooms and luxurious bed. Breakfast in the old church is a great experience and the food was delicious. Marjie was the perfect host: arranged us a transfer from the airport, lovely welcome, made us a dinner reservation within walking distance and recommended a walk for the next day. Fiorenzo's focaccia is the best in Italy - fact! The most amazing stay.
Such a warm pleasant stay. It is difficult to imagine a nicer place and kinder hosts. Horses, dog, cats, geese, hens etc. Access to immediate community in the nearby village via the hosts who are lovely. We will hopefully return soon.
