Where to begin ? Breakfast isn't the usual beginning of a review, but at Abbadia San Giorgio, it's an obvious place to start. The food is delicious and nutritious, with more fresh fruit than I've seen anywhere in my trip around Italy. Comfortable beds, a delightful room and bathroom, an outside cloister area for guest use during their visit, all...

My apologies to our wonderful hosts (we stayed in June/July 2014)for my late review. On arrival we were greeted with typical Italian warmness. Loved our location, room and the breakfasts were incredible. Thank you so much. The town of Moneglia is picturesque, friendly, interesting and food was great. See you again in 2017. Travelling with husband, 10 and 3 year...

A wonderful tranquil place to stay. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff to make sure we had a perfect stay of 4 nights. Excellent breakfast. Good recommendations for dinner and visiting interesting places.

We came from Corsica a week ago, I stay in this charming hotel for 3 fantastic nights. We have seen the St Giorgio Celebration and it was amazing ! This old monastery is fantastic! We found it by accident and booked 3 nights here. The staff was very helpful with everything, the rooms clean, quiet with tasteful interior and decoration. The breakfast was the highlight every morning, with fresh cheeses, hams and delicious homemade cakes! You could also order omelettes, eggs, coffees, whatever you desire. The train station is...

To hop off off busy trains and stroll the short distance in peace in a beautiful village is a pleasure. To then arrive at very special accomodation puts you into the right mindset. Personalised introduction to the hotel and region follows. The hotel going the extra yard extends to the room presentation. The breakfast deserves special mention as well. An...

I stayed for 4 nights and would certainly return both to Moneglia and Abbadia San Giorgio. Moneglia was lively and pretty but not overrun with tourists in peak season like neighbouring Cinque Terre towns. A beautiful location close to Cinque Terre by train and boat and on a beautiful coast line easily explored by train and boat. The Abby was...

We stayed for 4 nights and loved every minute. It was so peaceful and quiet. The staff are all absolutely wonderful and despite our very limited Italian and their limited English they went out of their way to ensure our requirements were met. Fabulous breakfast each morning set us up for the day. We found it great to be away...

We have spent 2 nights at Abbadia with our two kids. The place is simply great as it used to be part of a church and now fully refurbished. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. But what is amazing is the breakfast with several fresh cakes prepared every morning. They also serve gluten free meal.

“All the rooms are beautiful. If you want a little larger than a small hotel room, ask for a small junior suite. The large junior suits are huge as are the suites. All rooms are on the first level. Dining room is on the ground level. There is no elevator.”
