We booked the hotel quite late in the evening, and they still had vacancies. It took a while to check in, the staff seemed to be busy with the bar and bistro which had surprisingly many customers for a wednesday night in a small village. The room was ok. Shower head and water pressure could be improved. Beds ok. A... More

We couldn't get close to our intended destination, so we settled for the hotel above. We stayed only one night, but could not be much more pleased with what we found. The room was well appointed, clean, with starch white sheets and linen. Everything worked well and the room was snug. The bar was well filled and busy, but we... More

As per the title, I was not there long enough. One of the friendliest hotels I have stayed anywhere in the world! This small populated town of Rathkeale would have to be one of the nicest townships going. The owners Damien and Brenda are great and their staff headed by Lisa are just the utmost professionals that know how to... More

It was good value for money, however we found the mattress was a bit too hard. However, the staff were pleasant and accommodating, and the food was good. It was a handy spot for somewhere last minute to stay. Wifi was pretty much non-existent.

Travelled down from Northern Ireland to do some business so initially booked due to value for money and I have to say I have been pleasantly surprised at how this hotel simply ticks all of the boxes and this is now my 2nd time here. Rooms are spacious, very clean and all the rooms are equipped with free Wifi. It... More

We stayed here for two days. The room was great with excellent wi-fi and tea/coffee making facility's. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I was looking for a local famine graveyard and the receptionist who did not know of its location got the manager who was able to help me, Later that evening the receptionist and the manager checked... I stayed at the Rathkeale House Hotel for a night, and highly recommend it. Rathkeale is a really beautiful location. Just down the street from the hotel is a lovely scenic walking path which goes for miles, and the gardens are beautiful with a great view of the cathedral. The staff are warm and helpful, the rooms are great and... More

I had a meeting in the hotel this week and the staff couldn't do enough for us. We booked it last minute and it went without a hitch. We stayed for lunch and I can't remember the last time I had so much on my plate at the beginning and didn't leave a thing. If my body would have allowed... More

My wife and I were invited to a 50th birthday party which was being held at this lovely hotel. Even thought we had had lunch at this hotel on previous occasions we had never attended a function there before we were looking forward to this one as my wife would be meeting friends she had worked with some time in... Nice choice. Could have had roast beef or pork, there was also a veg lasagne as well as salmon and a chicken kiev. Opted for the Kiev. Large breaded chicken breast with a hint of garlic butter. The chicken was really moist and tasty. Usual suspects in the veg and plenty of mash or chips. Worth a visit!
