The mansion is nice, but it clearly doesn’t offer the services of a 5-star hotel and it is overpriced for what it offers. In addition, the owner made the entire experience unpleasant for us. This is how: I booked on the phone and the owner offered me the luxury suite for 150€/night (instead of 170€) with the condition that she wouldn’t issue a receipt. (I shouldn’t have accepted this deal! I was in a hurry and I fully regret it.) She kept my credit card number, though, for the case of no-show. While on the phone, she asked me whether we wanted to dine at the hotel on the night we arrived and offered to bake us stuffed tomatoes herself. She did not mention a price for this service and we considered it a courtesy. At checkout, however. we were surprised to find out that: - she charged that dinner 40€ without ever informing us in advance (aside from the fact that 40€ is a high price for a vegetarian dish, compared to the finest restaurants on the island), - she also charged 10€, because we asked for 2 extra towels. Again, she didn’t inform us that the towels would cost extra when she handed them to us (needless to say that 10€ ipurchase price for these cheap and used towels). We expressed our surprise and negotiated with her and she agreed that these extra charges were due to a misunderstanding. She agreed not to charge us these 50€ at checkout. BUT! Later that evening and after checkout, I SEE A CHARGE 50€ in my credit card and an sms from the owner saying that it is unfair that we didn’t pay for the dinner and the towels and, therefore, she charged the card I communicated with her for the case of no-show! What an unpleasant surprise and what an impolite way of treating guests! (She didn’t issue a receipt for this either). Some further entails you wouldn’t expect at a 5 star hotel, which left us with a bitter feeling: - We had to move to the Deluxe Double room on our last night. This room does not have an outside window (only a window that looks at a 1m2 backyard, where guests hang their beach towels). Toilet odours have no way to escape and we had to live with them in the room. - The toilet brushes were very dirty and unsanitary in both the Luxury suite and the Deluxe Double room. - I had to repeatedly ask for hair conditioner and body lotions, essentials that are expected at a 5 stars hotel. - I asked for two extra towels and the owner asked me to pick them up myself from the mezzanine. - The water offered was not bottled and the bottles were refilled without being washed. - The owner was not wearing a face mask, although this is mandatory due to COVID-19. - The breakfast was basic. - The owner was treating the lovely cleaning technician, Maria, with disrespect. All in all, this nice mansion deserves a better management. Until it gets one, stay away!

Thank you Celia, that you give me the opportunity to mention my oppinion for the experience of your stay in our small luxury hotel. My first mistake was, that i gave you the opportunitty to visit our hotel with your 6 month baby, exceptional. The second one, was that i beleived you, that you wanted better price for a non refundable price of booking.com which was 170 euros and i gave to you 150 euros per day with breakfast time. This price was like this, because i had not to pay the comission for bookin.com, (15%) for the reason that you insisted to a special price and i agreed to make like this. Big mistake because people like you, couldn't appreciated it. Your reservation was from 24th till 27th of Septemper. Third mistake was, that when you called me to change the dates, ( you called me one day before to inform me that you was not comming on 24th but on 25th of Septemper ), i made my best to give you another room for the third day, because the room that you had reservated was full from other guests the forth day. Your receipt for the payment of the room, 400 euros, was with number 481 and date 28.09.20 ,in my block account. i never had to 'play GAMES ' with tax office and especially with someone that had a lot of but feellings for everybody and thinking how to made problems. Last mistake was to accept to cook for you and your husband, when you asked me like this, with the excuse that the boat was arrived late at night and you couldn't had to go around to find a restaurant with the baby at this time ( 10 am at night ). At the phone you asked me to prepared something vegan for you and insisted that you wanted to had dinner at the hotel. i informed you that we didn't offer dinner to our guests. It is too silly, to beleive that when you asked for an extra service in a luxury hotel, you didn't know that you have to pay for this. I could not informed you for the exact price of the dinner, because i didn't know what you used. I cooked for you specially GEMISTA, horiatiki salad, feta chesse, bread and a bottle of white wine. And all these for 40 euros. You was so ' inoccent ' and 'cheap', that you beleived that i had to offered you all these, without money. Informed me one hotel, that offered to you all these, without money. As i had mentioned you had a better price like a non refundable reservation, that was the reason that i asked you your credit card. You asked me to paid me cash, when you ll come. ANOTHER mistake OF ME , because to be polite, i didn't asked you the money at once. You paid me at 1.30 am the last day and when i asked you before the check out. All the people knows that check out at the hotels is 12 oclock at noon, but this time of COVID check out is at 11 pm. The day that you had to leave the hotel you asked me to leave at 4 oclock at the afternoon. i asked you to pay 40 euros more for this and you are not accept because as usual you didn't know that you had to pay for late check out. You left the room at 1.30 am and your husband worked at the leaving room at the hotel till 3.30 am. When i asked you to pay for the dinner, 40 euros and for 2 big towels that you asked me for your massage, which was extra service for the hotel and you informed that the guy, was not bring with him ,you refused. You gave to me only 400 euros for the rent of the room. That is the reson that i charged your credit card with 50 euros more. The next time i am sure that you know that if you asked some extra services, you ought to pay for that.

What a lovely place to stay, with great friendly hosts. A truly unique home circa last year 1860, with much of its original charm & features, sitting above the town. We could not have felt more welcomed & benefitted from the hosts local knowledge.

Excellent stay at this beautiful and authentic mansion. The host Rania was there for recommendations, tips and restaurant reservations of our choice (very useful at the peak season). The house is beautifully furnished with great attention to detail (Persian carpets on the wooden floor, comfy beds, fresh pressed orange juice and homemade marmelade for breakfast, etc.). Truly relaxing and unique.

We arrived at the hotel at 9.30pm to receive an angry woman asking why we were so late. Our boat came in at 9.15pm and we were in contact with her but she was keen to go home. During our stay the owner was dismissive and angry to all the guests and it was awkward. Breakfast was terrible. A donut cut in to 8 pieces, slices of bread cut in to 10 pieces with cumber on it and cheese, a coffee and an angry woman. Oh dear... On our last day she went into our room and decided to pack up all our items and move us out because she got the wrong date. The whole stay was absolutely hideous. Never again.. There were much better hotels in the hotel.

Beautiful old mansion which is well maintained while staying true to the original characteristics of its time. I will be visit the island again, but have no intention of staying there as the owner of the property is tremendously rude and pushy. She acts as is she is doing you a favor for allowing you stay in one of her rooms. I booked the suit for 2 nights over the phone and was told that I am lucky as this is an exception to her 3 day minimum stay policy. For this reason, she will only accept cash for a slightly discounted price (200 euro per night vs. 220 eur per night) and not provide a receipt (basically hide profits of her business to the tax authorities). I have no idea what I was thinking but in the spare of the moment I accepted this arrangement as this was a last minute booking and needed a place to stay. I truly regret this. Upon arrival she complained how I was 15 minutes late (remember, this is a 5 star establishment I should be able to check in any time I please). She was pushy to make restaurant reservations for us which we declined (She must be getting commission) and expected to be paid immediately and reminded of the ‘friendly’ arrangement she made (this was not mentioned over the phone). We did not have cash on us so asked to pay the next day. The next morning we have barely woken up and are having breakfast where she walks up to us asking to be paid then and there. We said is she could wait until the afternoon when we head to town and find an ATM machine at which point she declined so my partner went out to return with the money. She also said that due to the ‘friendly’ price we need to check out the next morning by 11 rather than 12 as she wants to prep the room for the next guests. Also, when asked to leave our carry on side bags on the property she declined but said there are lockers at the port. Due the to nature of my work I stay at 4 and 5 star hotels all the time and this is unheard of. Also, some basic prerequisite to be considered a 5 star hotel are e.g. bathrobes, new slippers (ours were reusable), toothpaste, bathrobes, possibility to book a room massage etc). Overall, I don’t mind paying high prices for a holiday accommodation but I do have an issue with unprofessional, rude staff and being talked down to and pushed for her payment. Did she think we would walk out on her? Also, breakfast options and portions were very little-also not 5 star level. Random note: there is a housekeeper called Rosa who is the sweetest and kindest! The owner called Rania would speak to her as if Rosa was her maid. Shame shame shame!
