We were here on our honeymoon and had the best time. If you want to relax, this is a perfect hotel for you. The front desk, beach bar, and restaurant staff were all super friendly. It has beachfront access, which was lovely! The food options were fantastic!! You can tell that most people who come to this hotel are families looking for the all-inclusive feel on holiday. However, we didn't book the all-inclusive part and wanted to explore the town more. I would come back, it was a great property!
This was the fifth time that my wife and I have stayed at the Cretan Malia Park but this was the first time back since lock down and Covid. As always, the gardens around the hotel are kept immaculate and all common areas and rooms are equally well maintained. Overall, the hotel looks great after its recent makeover. The beach bar has been updated and sun beds on the beach renewed - and always available (we were there at the end of August beginning of September). It was also great to see many of the regular staff who have been there over the years. We went all-inclusive as we usually do, although we take trips out and don’t eat in the hotel all the time. Food quality was good and choice for breakfast at the buffet is vast. Evening meal is now better in one of the separate restaurants. Service at the Cretan restaurant and the Almyra restaurant was excellent, as was the food. My only complaint was the portions are far too large. Overall, a great holiday. My only complaints - having to wait and sign a receipt each time you get a drink. I actually prefer just give my room number, pick it up at the bar and take it to where I am sitting. The other big change from the previous times we have been there (usually August) is the number of small children. In past years, the clientele generally did not have so many young children below the age of 3. The noise at meal times ( breakfast and dinner) and continual yelling was actually unbearable at times! Might it be possible to have “family dining rooms” at meal times? In my first ever review of the Malia Park I called it an oasis of peace and tranquillity – I must admit not any more in the main hotel areas, the beach was fine. Will I be back, yes of course, it’s a great hotel, but maybe with ear plugs!…
More eco-friendly than person friendly. Disappointing rooms (no bath, 1 towel between 3 on occasion for shower) and beach is tiny and quite sore on the feet, customer service average (hard to get things done). VG food - really good (bar breakfast which is quite good), nice pool (when not closed for a kid’s poo which I appreciate is parent issue than hotel issue) - just overall probably not quite what used to or hoping for but not overpriced. Malia nearby is, well, malia but old town is nice. Sissi a big disappointment - was hard to find a restaurant where the menus weren’t filled with pictures of the food…
We had a wonderful stay in this hotel so well managed! their hotel app makes it all so practical and I am no tech expert! we are well traveled and a bit anxious reading all the critics, as it turned out it was one of the best experience we had and our first all-inclusive one! What a positive surprise. Amazingly friendly and competent staff (special mention for Eva at Mezze and Erini at the Shack) : The food is really good and fresh! do not miss the baklava at the Mezze as it is an unexpected delight! The whole hotel is entirely covid safe and all your senses are constantly enhanced. beware though that most pools are no deeper than 1, 50 meters. Also, very baby and family-friendly, although fully booked we never felt overwhelmed, and no sunbed issues at all. If we had to change few things for it to be perfect I would say: Bigger rooms ( our garden bungalow was small for 3 pax), better music performance by the pool in the evening and more e-bikes to be available. Also, they should oblige small kids to wear diapers as the pool got closed to due a toddler s special gift in the pool, but even then very rapid fix and cleaning of the pool .. maybe they should let the shallow pool for kids and the one deeper pool for adults and teens only. for the food, they should change the menu every two weeks as though very good it can get repetitive at times. but otherwise, we highly recommend it and we will go back for sure!…
I have stayed in Cretan Malia Park with my husband and 1 y/o daughter in September 2021 and its definitely one of the places that I would totally recommend! + Great service, very professional staff + Amazing food (same breakfast every day but really a lot of things; dinner at main restaurant is above expectations; dinner at other restaurants 10/10) -/+ Cretan and other restaurants a bit pricey but totally worth the money (you get discount if you take half-board) + Very clean + Beach hotel, towels and sunbeds provided by hotel + Pool area for both adults and small kids + Kids club plus playground with friendly stuff (a lot of toys offered) + Spa, cooking class and other stuff offered -/+ Gym is small but enough for holiday purposes There are also few downsides which I find minor - No option for nice evening walk (the hotel is more or less in middle of nowhere) - In my opinion not for young pairs (no party options, a lot of kids around, Malia rather distant)…
Amazing. Beautifully furnished, wonderful rooms, service 10/10, food quality is high, lots of restaurants option for a human-sized hotel. Pretty location, amazing for kids, and also for adults! Loved it
Beautifully designed spaces inside and out. Room was attractive yet practical with lots of storage, great AC and a comfy bed. Pools were clean and large, so plenty of space to spread out away from other guests. Beach area was the highlight however with lots of comfy sunloungers and a great beach bar. €4.50 for a beer felt reasonable for a 5* hotel beach bar. Plenty of spots for safe swimming. Opt for a bed up on the grass for a bit of peace and quiet. The quality of the food was excellent, in particular at the a la carte restaurants. Half board guests have a €20 per person contribution towards the bill at the a la carte restaurants which was enough for a main course. However the service was hit and miss, sometimes perfect, other times just plain bad- one evening it took 50 minutes to be served out first drink after sitting down! Most of the other guests are families with young children, more of a family focused resort rather than a design hotel (although amazingly designed throughout!) so would recommend couples look elsewhere for a relaxing break.…
We booked a bungalow. Unfortunately or with intent, this is an apartment of 10-12 parties. Of course, including children above you and on both sides. The definition of bungalow is different. Absolutely unsuitable for couples without a child or singles looking for peace and relaxation. The almost entire hotel is annexed by babies and toddlers. An unbearable background noise, for example at breakfast. Here, too, there are many beach loungers. Simply not an audience for my girlfriend and me, disgustingly this antisocial behavior, unfortunately the better-heeled 5-star audience is no exception. The hotel doesn’t mind
Loved our stay! Hotel is super l clean. The staff was so great! It’s an excellent beach. Love the Cretan breakfast upgrade they offered, well worth it! My inky recommendation is to put your beach towels down early. They do not have many beach chairs for laying out.
