When we got dropped off we had no sight of hotel Frixos it was dark and was meeted by a man wearing plain clothes who escorted us down a dark alleyway and walked for around 5 minutes which made me feel unsafe. When we arrive at the hotel at around 12 at night we was greeted by a blonde haired southern woman who brought us in the reception area and said we may as well do the introduction whilst everyone was together. There was a brown curly haired girl stood there with 2 of the other hotel staff looking down and fed up not a smile or anything! The blonde woman said she understood that we was all tired from travelling (which we was) and asked for our passports to check in and then for a cost of €5 for European tax for each room. Then explained that the air-con was €45 for the week and that the ‘safe’ was €15 Euro for the week which none of this was mentioned previously to start with! We decided not to pay for this as we have always had that included even when very basic. Also none of the facilities which are mentioned on the booking site were mentioned, she had us stood there listening to her in disbelief for around half an hour and I’m sure not a single person felt welcomed. She tried having a little laugh on the situation but nobody found it funny. We was then treated like cattle being brought up to our room one by one. We personally was brought up by Stelios the apparent ‘security guard’. He didn’t help with our luggage at all and opened our hotel room door then just left. We then started to unpack a few things and as I opened the wardrobe A ROTTEN BANANA was left in the wardrobe!!! We was disgusted. I then looked on the balcony of the apartment and found an empty glass bottle on our window sill. We didn’t want this start to ruin our holiday but we was furious. In the morning we came down for breakfast and found out that we would be eating Salad and bread for breakfast all week, I mean who eats that for breakfast? After breakfast we asked the older man on reception who was not introduced to us about the Sauna Gym and Steam bath that was mentioned free & included on the website. I asked could I use the sauna and he said the sauna was €8 for each of us at one time!!! I was shocked and walked away. At the pool area I seen the rep that invited us to an invitation meeting I approached him and mentioned about the sauna and facilities that were included on the website and the hotel asking for a money to use them. He told me he never heard that’s before and it was false advertisement he said he would contact the team and get it taken down. After all this we was told at the ‘introduction meeting’ the bedsheets towels would be changed after 2 days and our room would be cleaned. The second day there was no sign of this. I decided to strip the bed and left the sheets off on the floor along with the dirty towels as I seen the cleaner was on our corridor. The mattress always covered in dirty stains ( PLEASE SEE PICTURES ATTACHED) which knocked me sick. She came into the room and started shouting at me in another language! I know it was shown as a 3 star hotel but this was a joke. I was appalled this made me feel even more uneasy and uncomfortable! Even the shower leaked all over the floor every time we used it for more than 5 minutes and had to hold it every time it was being used. I would also like to add I spotted ants and other insects crawling in the games room. If this is the way you treat your guests then shame on you all! There was no customer service whatsoever no ‘hello’ when we entered and left the hotel and never even got a smile which is basic manners! How lovely. We constantly felt uncomfortable here and not wanted and we did nothing to get treated this way. The thing that topped it all off was my boyfriend aftershave going missing which I payed £70 for & around €30 he was absolutely devastated and felt like he couldn’t leave anything around after this. This is actually the worst hotel I stayed in and I don’t think they care about there guests whatsoever. It’s a shame because this really put a downer on our holiday. There was no entertainment no fun or anything. Your hotel is a shambles. We are never coming back you should be ashamed! Regards.

Come here on a girls holiday, there was 6 of us and we had a great time. Hotel is a 5 Minuit walk from the strip. Stellios helped us carry our bags to our room, made us feel safe and is a great laugh. Everytime we got back from a night out we had a right laugh with him for about half an hour. The rooms were clean the cleaner cleans the everyday fullt. Would fully recommend coming again, the only thing I can criticise is the food, it wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t great either. Other than that we had a ball.

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for a girls or boys holiday to Malia as the website has falsely advertised it. When we arrived there were no reps that met us when we came off the coach transfer. Luckily another person had been there before and knew where to go. It’s down dark alleys and very tucked away. This was also past 1pm in the morning. We then arrived at the hotel and got lectured about how to not behave on this holiday by the reps. We all felt like we was on a school trip being told what we can and can’t do which took them nearly over an hour and a half to lecture us and check us in. I understand the reps have a duty of care but it became uncomfortable. There was only one rep who made an effort and would come and chat to us around the pool but the rest of the reps we didn’t see all holiday and quite frankly weren’t doing their job. Luckily this was not our first girls holiday so I have a good idea what they should be doing but there was no sight of them all holiday. Not even when we left there was no one there to take us back up the dark alleys ready for our transfer or to even wish us well on our journey home. The hotel wasn’t very welcoming either, the staff are rude. Especially the night guard ‘Stellios’. You’re not allowed to play your speaker in your hotel room or on your balcony. Even when we were playing it very quietly we would get told to turn it off. It’s a party holiday what on earth do they expect! You were not allowed to bring people back to your hotel even though you’ve paid for the room, surely you should let people back. Stelios would ask for a payment if you wanted someone to come back to your room which is disgusting and unmoral when you’ve already paid for that room. I understand if you are being noisy but we definitely weren’t. He was discriminative to who he let in and who he didn’t, which is unfair and unprofessional. He was very rude when I questioned him why he was telling everyone to stop taking on their balcony’s and go to bed. He said he was a 41 year old man and to stop disrespecting him. Like are we on a school trip or party holiday? We were talking very quietly and not being noisy but he was shooing everyone to bed. We were just chatting and smoking on our balcony that we had paid for! Every hotel around that area is the same with their hotel guards, very rude and I have never, ever been anywhere so strict. So to be honest I wouldn’t recommend Malia as all the hotels were not accommodating for the party scene which is bizarre as it is a party town. There were family’s there who said it was also falsely advertised as they didn’t realise the hotel was full of young people. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel as the staff are rude and not accommodating to the party scene. If you’re looking to pull in Malia it’s impossible. The cleaner was so rude, would storm in your room not even say hello or would you like your room doing. She would slam the doors and have a face like thunder.

Thank you for your comment. First of all Stelios the night time security guard is here to look after everyone and check on everyones safety. If someone does not respect the fact that there are a lot of age groups at the hotel and continue to make noise or disrespect the other guests ,he will take place. Also for the guests safety people that come from other hotels must be checked , not anyone is allowed to be at the hotel. Thank you for your comment again! Hopefully next time we will fulfill your expectations.

When we arrived we was asked to pay a room tax- to which we was never warned about when booking the room. We was then told that we had to pay €10 a day for air con- when booking the hotel we were informed that there was air con provided and it also states air con is available on their website with again no mention of any cost. Thirdly we was then told we had to pay WiFi- on the website and the booking it said wifi was free? We was told our beds would be changed every two days- we was there for a week and had our bed sheets changed once, this is disgusting considering the room was boiling hot with no air con. We were also lectured about not staining bed sheets as we would have to pay- 2 of our beds were already stained. The floor was not cleaned once and the bin only emptied once in the whole week we stayed there. The breakfast was poor- I have never eaten cucumber, cheese, ham, tomato for breakfast? The sun loungers were pretty much all broken and you were lucky if it didn’t break on you or tip over as you sat down. The cleaner shouted at my friends to get out of their room although we were getting ready for an event we had paid for- they were rushed out of their room and came back to find the cleaner actually hadn’t even done anything to the room anyway? We had the same towels all week. The staff were ok, the reps there were amazing and couldn’t fault their service at all they made you feel as at home as possible and were always around to help you.

Thank you for your comment. The hotel towels get changed twice a week and the bed sheets once a week from the arrival day. The room tax is something that is mandatory and is a Greek law that we have to follow. In the website we mention the availability of the air con with an extra cost. The WiFi around the pool area is free of charge, the WiFi that you can have if you pay is the ones in your room. The cleaners come to the rooms every day but if you are inside the room they can not clean it so they move on. The hours that they visit your rooms are always reasonable (after 11:30 until 5 ). Thank you for your comment. Hopefully we will fulfill your expectations next time.

When we arrived at our hotel we were charged for our safe deposit box which is ridiculous. We were told there was free WiFi publicly available which it was not and my friends were charged €10 each to use WiFi on their phones. We were then lectured about staining the bedding and when we entered our room we found that all 3 bed sheets were stained. The stains were red and there were also brown stains on one of the 3 sheets. There were exposed nails under the dressing table which scraped my thigh when I sat down. There was an open wall panel in the bathroom and the shower was broken and leaked all over the floor. We only had one bin and it was in the bathroom and had to be used for our toilet paper understandably because of the Greek sewage systems but it wasn’t always emptied. Breakfast was okay but lacked variety. Hotel staff were friendly but honestly was a little disappointing. Rooms didn’t look like the website either. Hotel staff are rude as well. Charged for air-conditioning as well. Quite a dirty place. When they ‘cleaned’ our room all they did was make the beds with the same bedding, and gave us tiny towels and some of them had massive holes in them. The only nice thing about the room was the balcony but for a room for 3 there were only 2 chairs outside.

Thank you for your comment. There is a free WiFi area around the pool area. We have extra WiFi that is for your rooms. The cleaners come everyday at the room but if you are inside they have to move on. The hours that they are visiting ,the cleaners, are reasonable after 11:30 until 5. If you are still inside there is nothing that they can do. The aircon is extra as we mention on the website too.The balcony chairs was one mistake that we can admit probably because we did not find out earlier. You told us and immediately gave you one more chair. Thank you for your comments appreciated them . Hopefully next time we’ll fulfill your expectations.
