The hotel is situated along beautiful sandy beach in a quiet area. It’s a perfect holiday destination for a relaxing time. It’s family friendly and has got excellent service. There are terrace villas, apartments and rooms along the seashore. In the village side there are old style alley ways, modern and everything is sparkling clean.
Me and my family spent 2 weeks at the Alexander Beach hotel and could not have asked for a better holiday. Beautiful location, stunning views, helpful staff and amazing food. The animation team were so friendly and energetic. The entertainment was fun and one of the animation team in particular; Femke, was a joy to spend time with and made our holiday the times better! Cannot rate this place and the gorgeous staff enough, highly recommended!
The hotel is perfect. Looks like a village with little apt rooms. Each room has a terrace and the rooms are big. The hotel has 6 pools and a private beach The food is great breakfast and dinner Very friendly staff Just a perfect vacation....
I recently (September 2019) stayed here and had a fantastic experience. The location is perfect, easy walk to Malia, it's right on the beach and there is a market (Gemini) located right in front of the hotel of you want to get something that the hotel cannot provide. The rooms are large and clean, there are multiple pools to choose from, and the staff are amazing.. I made friends with all of the bar tenders lol. The food was very good, all buffet style in the main dining area which was perfect for me - many options to choose from. You can order food at the bars also. The make a really good traditional gyro plate at the beach bar. The prices for drinks and food were very reasonable I think - roughly what I pay in the states - maybe a little less. I want to mention the staff again because they were just the best. There are set activities you can choose to go to if you want like yoga and beach volleyball, etc.. I didn't do any of that but it's nice to have that option. I will be coming back to this hotel again for sure.…
Having read several older reviews and having had a much better experience, I wanted to go to bat for The Alexander. In reading about the property, I noticed that a new general manager took over in October of 2018 which may explain why older reviewers had a bad experience and my September 2019 experience has been largely very good. The property is beautiful and to me, very reminiscent of Hawaii. I was delighted to find fragrant plumeria blooms tucked into my decoratively folded hand towels upon arrival. The staff is warm and friendly and very accommodating. The food, while buffet, is very good as such with a staffed omelette station in the morning along with about 80 ft. of breakfast items from cereals and breads to eggs, meats, juices and fresh fruits, veggies and cheeses. For half board guests like myself, the evening buffet is also very good with the same 80 ft. lined again with fresh veggies and salads, cheeses, breads, staffed fish and meat stations, 2 soups, and sautéed, stewed, or casseroled veggies some with meat. In addition, desserts include ice creams, cream cakes, chocolates and fresh fruit. Dinner main course choices, as well as many of the other dinner items changed each day. Having chosen the first dinner seating, I was able to enjoy a beautiful sunset each evening with my repast. As for noisy events, while several themed evenings were advertised during my stay (karaoke, disco, stand up comedy), I never heard even a decibel of disturbance. The pools are magnificently maintained and the ocean was both beautiful and friendly with clear water, shallow shoreline and gently lapping waves. A lifeguard in tower kept watch. While some of the room furnishings are “old school”, they are in excellent condition and the bathroom was up to date and very pleasant. The room was cleaned daily and kept in excellent condition. I arrived late in the day and the next morning my “do not disturb” sign was respected. Later that day, as I headed to the beach one staff member simply confirmed with me that I had no need of cleaning that day as I had been a late arrival, and that was that! On a recent tour of ancient sites in western and central Greece, I can very easily tell you what a 2 star hotel looks like and The Alexander is well above that!…
