We stayed for 10 days in June, we could not praise the whole team at the Ruby Solimar. Every team member went above and beyond at every opportunity, they polite, polite and helpful. The hotel was clean. The food was very good, always something for everyone. Would definitely return and recommend
Arrived back from our first holiday with our 1 year old and it honestly was just amazing!! The staff are very friendly and nothing at all was a problem. Naturally having a 1 year old meant we created quite a bit of mess at meal times, I offered to clean up and the staff wouldn’t let me! They were all great with our little girl. The food was great, a nice selection at each meal, with snacks available throughout the day. Room was clean with air conditioning. Recommend 100%.
Do not recommend for family holidays. Staff in the restaurant are rude. We was approached by the restaurant manager who told us it is unacceptable that our 10 month old has dropped food on the floor. We usually clean any mess when we are finished but the baby and I were still eating at the time. Made to feel uncomfortable for the rest of our stay. Luckily there are many other places to eat in malia that are child friendly.
Had an amazing time at this hotel, beautiful and clean, the service and food is fantastic and staff are very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again. Its very near Malia but not right in the busy centre and a short walk from the Beach.
We have just returned from this hotel, it was part of a package from jet2. The hotel is of a good standard with a beautiful pool and plenty of sun loungers The food is of excellent quality and always fresh and piping hot. The rooms are very spacious with maid services daily. Every member of staff is eager to please. I would not hesitate to highly recommend this hotel, the manager Michalis Farsarakis is a real gentleman and is a man of integrity and good service. WELL DONE !
We have been living at Solimar Ruby Royal for 1 week (actually the last one tour of the season). We are really impressed about the place - very homely infrastructure, cozy apartments - we had a great view from our balcony (the seaside, hills, pool as well as Solimar Ruby hotel in the neighbourhood). The apartment was clean; everyday morning service was a standard, we've been provided with a bags of tea, coffee, bottle of water, and, what was really effective, towels shaped in artistic way - swans or butterflies - really brilliant approach and engagement of the stuff :) The food was fresh, varied and delicious (I am a person with very sensitive stomach and cannot eat everything). Beside daily breakfast, dinner and supper we could eat a snacks and have a broad spectrum of drinks, local wine (dry red and white) and beer serving until 23:00. The service (at the restaurant, bars, reception) was very friendly, helpful and polite. We even had a cool Zorba dance with Manager of the hotel :) It is worth to mention it is not so far from the hotel to the town centre. It takes approx. 5 mins walk to get the nearest bus stop in Malia, where you can take a ride to Agios Nikolaos and Heraklion (ticket price approx. 3,60-3,80 euros). To get to the beach in Malia you need approx. 15 mins walk. It is one of the most beautiful seasides - mostly sandy, so you can take wonderful longlasting walk along the coast or swim to the small islet there. However, there are also good beach checkpoints in Agios Nikolaos (e.g. Amoudi) but it is mostly rocky. After all it depends on where you feel better. If you want to get to the archeological side of Malia (Minoan Palace), it takes approx. 30 mins by walk from the hotel (entrance cost is 6 euros). Nearby it's also another amazing sandy beach. It was our first all inclusive holiday and it's more than we could imagine - we felt there like at home <3…
We spent 7 nights in Solimar Ruby and can't recommend it enough to anyone considering staying there. Hotel is clean, cozy with spacious rooms and all essentials you need. Rooms are cleaned daily with towels changed. We had balcony overlooking the pool that gave lovely ambiance while resting in the room. Pool area is big enough for all people staying and sunbeds are always available. There is kid's pool next to a small play area which our little one simply loved. Food was plentiful and very tasty, from breakfast through lunch to dinner there are international classics and local specialities to choose from. Bar is good and drinks are really nice. Big shout out to all hotel staff! They are all team of positive beautiful people who simply love their job. They did not leave any stone unturned to make sure everyone is happy and their smiles are reflection of atmosphere in this hotel. Service is top-notch with smile, politeness and really nice jokes. Everyday there is Manager around making sure that all is well, checking on all guests which is really nice touch. Location-wise it is around 10 minutes walk to the closest beach and shopping centre located on the local High Street. Placed in quiet area where only quads or mopeds can disturb makes it great place for rest. No club music bangs at night. There is wifi, but very slow so make sure you have enough data plan if you need to use Internet i.e. for work. Otherwise you are all sorted. Many thanks for all Team at Solimar Ruby who made our experience a really memorable one! Cheers, Bartosz, Karolina, Lena (Sep/Oct 2021)…
Great spent holidays! - good food, lot of everything, you have anything you want in good quality like chips, chicken, some local food like mousaka, you can make your own salad, have ice-cream for dinner, whatever you want! - good drinks, like really good :) i remember colorful drinks from other hotels as too sweet, not tasty drinks with No alcohol and here you can drink them all day! Also you have good wine and beer. - Close to the sea, beach with sand, sunbeds in septemeber for 7€/for 2 sunbeds. Closer to the centre of Malia although there’s not much to do in Malia. It’s perfect hotel for rest. Also you have very Close bus station from where you can ride to Heraklion etc. - and the most positive thing in the hotel: nice hotel service. Amazing, kind people who do everything for you to feel the best in the hotel. Cool bartender, very talkative, who make great drinks :) very helpful recepcionists and so nice waiters, they really care for you, looking if you have fork or something to drink to dinner. We are very satisfied with spending our holidays in this hotel. One and Only minus was bathroom with bathtub with kinda dirty curtain but it wasnt a big problem, we have our room cleaned everyday and whole hotel is also clean. :)…
quite a good experience. The hotel itself was good, the all inclusive food was not bad either, quite a good choice, frequent meals and amazing staff throughout the whole hotel. All inclusive alcoholic beverages could be better but i suppose this is what you get anywhere you go in this part of the world. Plenty of bars around if you want to have something better. The wifi for an additional charge - useless. Forget about working online while you're away but as I said you can't get everything. 4 out of 5 having considered all the pros and cons. Thank you.
I'd like to thank all the staff who did a great job :) Everybody very hard-working and genuinely friendly. For Polish speakers good news might be that the lady on the reception desk is a Polish-speaker. Those who about many TV channels have 6 at their disposal. conditioning: Solimar Ruby "the old part": Those who don't tolerate heat well should come in any time of the year apart from the summer as the conditioning is not the best though I heard it is going to be better. Ruby Royal - has new conditioning Summing up - I really recommend the place :)
