The locatin of hotel is perfect, near beach, night clubs, restaurants and shops. The staff, especially the owner is very, very kind, friendly and hospitable. Our room and the terrace was spacious and well equiped, there was everything what we needed for our staying. One day our room wasn't cleaned but anyway we got fresh towels and loundry without any problem. The air condition is extra charged but I recomend to pay for it (7€/day) beacuse it is very hot in a room. In front of hotel is nice bar Mango, which I recommanded too. Unfortunatelly we didn't have time to spend some time in the pool area, but it looks very nice and relaxing. We have really nice staying. Thank you for everything!
We just came back from a lovely holidays in Crete. Hotel we stayed was really nice. The gardens around, the hotel and the bar were gorgeous - well kept by Nico! The pool area was lovely too, music playing all day. There are loads of sun beds and a great pool bar where you can get your breakfast, coffee or drink while you’re sunbathing. They have gorgeous front bar and Raffaele who works there making one of the nicest cocktails you must try. The owners were so lovely during our stay and gave us some tips what we should visit around Crete island. I would reccommend this hotel to anyone as it’s right in the middle of everything close to the beach, nightlife resturants and local shops.
I would definetely not recommend this accomodation, because the apartments are just repainted with brown and beige colours but old furniture, bad mattress - I am having huge back pains from it. The bathroom is looking really bad and the water remains in the middle. It is mostly clean but they do sometimes miss some places... also the kitchen is not the best to be used since it is moldy.
Rooms on the web are photoshoped. Furniture old and damaged. Nice grass where is forbiten to walk ?! not a nice place for a family with Children. Night Clunb next to the door with noisy parties on a daily basis. Breakfasts everyday the same. Owners has the dog, his hair everywhere where you seat and eat. At the end owners charge you 10 € / per day for Air Condition. Easy way to get more money from the Tourists. Very dissapointed.
Ok, I admit it, I hadn’t heard of Malia before I booked our week at Danaides but in the months that followed, until our actual stay, I’d actually formulated a bail-out plan. To say the hotel has surpassed our expectations is an understatement. It’s quiet, it’s friendly, the grounds are just stunning and it’s totally family-friendly. Although there is no official parking, the manager went out of her way to ensure we had a safe place to leave our car. The apartments are basic, but very clean and the pool is just perfect. The owners are clearly very proud of the little oasis they have created - there are rules in place but by closing off the pool at 7pm they’re limiting the risk of accidents and broken glass. If you want to stay somewhere where you can do as you please without consideration to other guests there are plenty of other options out there. But if it’s the pictures of the stunning gardens around these apartments that lured you into booking, then accept that in order to keep them looking that beautiful, you won’t be allowed to picnic in the grass 😊 Malia old town of full of lovely restaurants and operates at a very different pace from the Strip - but there are some lovely eateries as you head down towards the beach as well. In short, I feared this would be a disaster. In actual fact it’s been perfect! …
