The staff are nice and the hotel is along the river. The hotel overall looks good but hotel spaces in general are not wide. the breakfast buffet is good. The wifi signal is too weak to use in my room however if you have a signal the speed is very good. The room is a bit small but not bad.... More

Nice peaceful hotel in a peaceful town with peaceful residents. If you have a room facing the river it's a great hotel but if you are facing the other side than.... The breakfast is good and the service is kind and efficient. Price is decent. Location the best. Linen could be renewed. Overall good place to stay if you arrive... More

Dear Michael, thank you very much for your positive feedback. We are glad you could enjoy your stay in our hotel. You are right, the rooms facing the river do have a great view with a peaceful atmosphere. But the rooms towards the city are also very quiet as we are situated at the edge of a pedestrian area and... More

Location is right in the centre of the city; with nice views of the river and the wooden bridge at least from some rooms. It's pretty quiet as it is in the pedestrian zone (follow street signs of hotel, gps of your car leads you on another way and you have to pass pedestrian zone. Rooms are average. The floor... More

This Hotel, while located right in Oldtown and next to some great restaurants gets the price for the worst hotel bed EVER. It is so hard that even my little one sleeping in between us on this one night stay woke up and said bed was hard. The linens are worn and the pillows are so flat that I got... More

After being in Germany and Netherlands for a week on business, and having been in several hotels, I was a bit disappointed with this one. First the good - extremely courteous and competent staff. A wonderful breakfast included with our stay, and a lovely location. The room also was clean and the location of the hotel was nice. The not... More

Good hotel, great breakfast, comfortable rooms with Nespresso machine, but do not expect to have wireless. Apart the connection issue, it still a good hotel located just in the old downtown. Rooms viewing the river side are more expensive, but has more space.

The staff are really nice and the hotel is right along the river, right where you wanna be. The hotel overall looks classy and the breakfast looks nice (Not vegan friendly). The wifi signal is too weak to use in my room and a coworker staying there said the same. The room is a bit small but not bad. However,... More

Stayed for a week. Had a large single bed rather than a double and the sheets were rough, and bed was not comfortable. No air con. ONE pillow only in the room, which was as flat as paper! Wifi was great though, no problems with a Skype call and a little streaming. Made to move rooms half way through my... More

Very nice rooms, and the breakfast is delicious! The rooms are excellent. The hotel host me for a month and my stay was excellent for all the time . The only one suggestion is to include some facilities for swim, gym or external activies especially for winter time.

We had last visited the restaurant Le Jardin in the Ring Hotel Goldener Knopf three years ago for lunch. That visit we thoroughly enjoyed. Today we were there for lunch along with another couple. Boy what a difference. The menu is a shadow of what it was formerly. At 1245 there was only one couple eating outside where we were... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We invite you to relax and enjoy a unique location, with direct view of Europe's longest roofed wooden bridge. Our hotel is situated in the heart of the old town of Bad Säckingen in the south west where Germany meets Switzerland and France. This historical building was first mentioned in official records in 1456. Joseph Victor von Scheffel, author of the "trumpet player of Säckingen" was a regular visitor who loved to spend his free time there. Over centuries the Ringhotel Goldener Knopf has grown to become one of the most prestigious houses in the region today. Our hotel is special - be it the stunning location or it's high standards of cuisine and guest pampering. Spoil yourself in our restaurant "Le Jardin" or gourmet restaurant "VinoGusta" and choose from our selection of delicious wines (about 100 different wines, mostly from the renowned Markgräfler area and the Kaiserstuhl). Whether for family occasions, wedding receptions, business meetings or conferences, the Ringhotel Goldener Knopf offers the perfect location. We cater for parties between 10 and 80 guests. ... more   less
