We stayed at the Totem Friendly Hotel in late January. It’s certainly very friendly - all the staff are wonderful- especially Oscar snd Théo in the bar and Sunil on reception. We stayed in the loft apartment which was huge and fabulous and very Austin Powers- tremendous fun. We loved the ski shop in the hotel and being able to get our lift passes from reception - all so easy and stress free. Being able to ski from the door another huge plus. There’s only one area for improvement - and that’s the food. Breakfast was good. Dinner less so. It was buffet style. It was edible and not expensive when included in half board. However, I would have been very happy to pay a bit more for a better standard of meal with a more varied menu.
I stayed in this wonderful hotel for 4nights with my best friend- two 50 something Mums on a girls holiday - and we had THE best time! Nothing was too much trouble- the hotel manager was smiley and so helpful and the check in was seamless- they had sorted ski passes for the week and the ski shop was so easy as it’s right in the hotel, we were skiing within an hour of arrival. The snow was a bit thin at the bottom by the hotel but it’s so close to the lifts it was a joy. We had a twin room with mountain view and it was great- such comfortable beds and a lovely shower. The bar staff were great - Oscar was brilliant and we loved going for a cheeky Aperol before dinner - the food was tasty, fab salads and we had the fondue one night which was wonderful. ( the desserts are great even for someone who really doesn’t have a sweet tooth!). We went to the jacuzzi and sauna on day 3 and it was wonderful to look out onto the slopes while sipping tea- a real tonic for aching limbs…. The breakfast was varied and perfect for a day on the slopes, from start to finish this was a wonderful hotel and the staff were superb- Elizabeth was so cheerful and nothing was too much trouble… we will both be back with our families next year and hope all the lovely staff have a fab end of season xxx…
Lovely hotel Perfect location Covid safe Bar was a bit lively & at times hard to get a drink due to larger crowd, I was travelling with my teenage son so felt a bit ignored at the bar area at times . Food was average, unfortunately never got to try the cheese fondue as ordered but never arrive , was offered refund but never received unfortunately. However I would be happy to visit again The house keeping staff were very helpful
My son and I stayed for 4 nights on a half board basis in a club room. While the room was not huge it was really well designed with loads of storage space and great beds. Breakfast was excellent, dinner we found less so - it was fine rather than awful but not very inspiring - a bit “meat and two veg”, though the range of desserts was excellent. For us dinner would have been better with some soups and pasta dishes on offer too. The location is what makes this hotel so good, right in the heart of the village, you cross the road and start skiing, same at the end of the day. There is a kids sledging area in front of the hotel and loads of restaurants and a supermarket very close too (literally within a 2 minute walk). If I were to visit again, as I may well do, I’d stay bed and breakfast. The ski area of Flaine was superb with the pistes in great condition and minimal lift queues. There are many wide cruisey blues on which to practice and a good number of reds too, there also seems to be a significant amount of novice areas with many magic carpets.…
I’m 18 and went with my mum dad and sister. This hotel was perfect as it was ski in ski out. The interior was so cool and trendy with arcade games and spa with an out door hot tub. Another perk being the ski hire shop IN the hotel. All of the staff were so lovely the English bar tender Oscar made the best drinks and gave us fab tips on where to eat when we wanted to explore outside the hotel aswel as Alisair who was so lovely and helpful with our ski’s. We as a family and as individuals couldn’t recommend totem enough!!!
This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in! This was our 2nd time here. Location- Excellent ski in and out Room- Amazing. Went for one with a balcony this time, definitely worth the extra for a bit more space and views. Food- Buffet, but big selection of good food every morning and evening-including vegan option for my partner. Never had to queue. Bar- Great cocktails and chilled atmosphere to hang out in. Love the architecture and decor too. Spa-Never really busy, and I really enjoyed the massive outdoor hot tub with views of pistes and mountains. Staff- I don’t think it’s possible to get a better team of lovely people than here! Without exception always friendly, happy and genuinely pleased to help. We got to know Oscar and Theo in particular over the week (at the bar) and they really added to the experience. Making all those drinks maybe helped a bit……. Good times had We will be back👍…
We visited as a large group of ladies skiers and were looked after brilliantly. The rooms are small and compact but perfectly adequate. The half board option was definitely a good idea as the food is amazing (buffet style) and the chefs, waiters and bar staff were a huge amount of fun. Thanks in particular to the ski shop who sorted us out with our many requests, the reception team who welcomed us and looked after all of our needs and Oscar from the bar who with his fabulous team made sure we were always supplied with a drink and even introduced us to some of the local nightlife. The spa is worth a mention as a welcome end to a fabulous ski day! We were incredibly lucky with the weather and had 3 1/2 days of glorious skiing with the most amazing scenery…thanks Totem Neige! See you next year!…
Stayed at this place last week. The moment we walked in, the staff were there to greet us. The place is right next to the slopes and there are restaurants close by, but the Restaurant in the hotel was so good that we didn't bother. Hired our skies from the shop in the hotel and they were so helpful and friendly. The reception even sorted out the ski pass for us which only took a couple of minutes. We then had a locker in the boot room and stepped out within a 100 yards of the lifts. everything in this place was done right (with a smile) and to make things easy for you. if you are going to Flaine, then do consider this place as it made our holiday a lot more enjoyable.
This is a great hotel, very comfortable beds, super convenient and with friendly and attentive bar staff who know how to make a great cocktail! Oscar and Theo were very friendly and great fun. All the staff in the hotel are incredibly helpful, whether it’s a lift pass or a snowboard service they are always at your disposal. Great food, super convenient ski store and 200m to the main gondola. All in all it made a short 3 day trip to the slopes a breeze.
Hotel is excellently positioned for the slopes, with ski i and ski out access to the main bubble car and other lifts . Very clean and the staff are extremely professional and friendly, particular thanks to Oscar and Theo who looked after us very well in the bar, even though we kept them very busy! Have been before and would certainly go again. Thanks😊👍
