Terminal Neige, a great place to stay
This hotel is definitely a jewel in Flaine, it was recently taken over by new owners, and they’ve made the Terminal Neige a great place to stay. The outside of the hotel is typical Flaine, ugly concrete, but inside, they’ve used it rather than disguised it, turning it into a modern and pretty cool hotel, but in a very unpretentious way. The staff a very relaxed, friendly and helpful, I can’t comment on other languages, but their English, in the most part, is fantastic. There’s a spa with large outdoor hot tub, small gym and a couple of saunas, you have to pay for the use, but only 10€ per day, plus you can have treatments, but I didn’t try them. The food is fantastic, it’s a buffet, with things like lamb shank, roast pork and tuna, all cooked superbly, but be warned, in the evening, there won’t be a chip or chicken nugget in sight, so if you’re a fussy eater, plan to eat elsewhere. Breakfast is both continental and cooked, with plenty of choice. The hotel isn’t quite ski in ski out, but as close as it could be, there’s a short walk to the nearest lift, or a walk and ski to the other main cable car, so the location is fine. It’s close to the shops, bars and restaurants, but you might not want to leave the hotel!
Thank you for your nice comment, the whole team is delighted to read that you appreciated your stay! We are looking forward to welcoming you soon for your next stay!

    All good.
We were in room 512 on the forum side of the building, The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet at night. The room was small but adequate. There is a kettle, Safe, hairdryer etc, There are a couple of English TV channels Inc Film 4 (running live UK time) Food is served Buffet style, Breakfast between 7 - 10am and Buffet Dinner has sittings at 7 and 8.30pm. Food was plentiful with a good choice available, gluten free bread available, cheese fondue at no extra cost on request daily. Drinks are free at Breakfast but not on an evening cost a minimum of 7 euros for a glass of wine. Access to the wellness and fitness areas are 10 euros per person per day or 45 euros for a 6 day pass. A back massage starts from 45 euros for 20 mins.Free to use heated ski locker room although no boot heaters.Totem has an excellent location right on the forum with Ski school meeting point, Lifts, Supermarket, Various restaurants and bars, Post office, pharmacy, bank, ice rink, toboggan run, All within a few meters of the hotel. Staff are doing a great job.
Many thanks for your lovely comment Rachael, we are glad that your appreciate your stay with us! See you next winter!

Ugly from the outside but great on the inside!
My son and I stayed for 4 nights on a half board basis in a club room. While the room was not huge it was really well designed with loads of storage space and great beds. Breakfast was excellent, dinner we found less so - it was fine rather than awful but not very inspiring - a bit “meat and two veg”, though the range of desserts was excellent. For us dinner would have been better with some soups and pasta dishes on offer too. The location is what makes this hotel so good, right in the heart of the village, you cross the road and start skiing, same at the end of the day. There is a kids sledging area in front of the hotel and loads of restaurants and a supermarket very close too (literally within a 2 minute walk). If I were to visit again, as I may well do, I’d stay bed and breakfast. The ski area of Flaine was superb with the pistes in great condition and minimal lift queues. There are many wide cruisey blues on which to practice and a good number of reds too, there also seems to be a significant amount of novice areas with many magic carpets.

I don't do many reviews but this hotel really deserves a positive endorsement. The hotel is well positioned being close ( less than 5 mins walk) to a main lift. Like most French ski resorts Flaine was built in the 70's brutalist concrete box style which many including myself find ugly and the hotel is part of that development. However, you spend most of the week inside or looking at the beautiful mountains. The hotel certainly lives up to the friendly name with staff in the reception, bar and restaurant area going out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Most of them also spoke excellent English. Inside it's a bit quirky but the eating, bar, lounge area is pleasant and more than fine for a 3 star hotel. I am very keen on my food which was the best part of this hotel. Each night there was an excellent roasted meat, fish and a casserole option. There was also an excellent selection of carefully prepared and presented vegetables. This was after a choice of starters and soup. The deserts get spec

Staying in this hotel is not only experiencing a bit of architectural history but also being treated with such kindness and friendliness by the staff. Although it was te last week of the ski season and before the hotel closes until December, the service and the food were amazing. We had half board and loved the food every day. The restaurant staff were friendly he best. The hotel has been renovated but in a very sensitive way honouring it’s modernist heritage. Wonderful views from the restaurant terrace and the spa / outdoor jacuzzi. Highly recommended!

Brilliant gem of a hotel. Very near to the slope, and the staff are friendly and attentive. This was our first experience in Flaine, and we booked to go back to the same hotel next year. The room was comfortable and clean. The food is excellent, has plenty of choices, and is tasty and never boring. We would recommend this hotel is you are staying in Flaine.

My 3rd stay. Great hotel, superb rooms - I’ve stayed in the standard, superior and a suite; all excellent and I think offer value for money in this price bracket. Great atmosphere and a very friendly team in bar/restaurant. Half board is good value, meals all buffet style. Food varied and delicious but sometimes kitchen slow to replenish (this has happened each time we stayed). Spa is lovely too - stunning view from the hot tub! I’ve stayed with family and friends; recommend for both.

We had a fabulous stay at the Totem hotel at the beginning of March, the internal ski shop is perfectly situated and the staff amazingly helpful. The locker rooms lead straight out to the piste so it’s a great ski-in ski-out hotel for access to the plethora of slopes that Flaine has to offer. The hotel itself is very comfortable, reasonably priced and staffed by the best! Everyone is so friendly, helpful and obliging & excelled at making us feel welcome. A true lesson in excellent customer service! We’ll be back for sure….

I stayed here for 5 nights for a ski trip. Location was fantastic. All staff were helpful and friendly. The bedroom was spotless and was cleaned everyday of our stay. The food was absolutely delicious, we were half board so had our breakfast and dinner included. There was a great variety of food. The spa in the hotel was also beautiful, really quiet when we used it, and the outdoor hot tub was lovely. We also hired our ski equipment from the shop in the hotel, staff there were really friendly & helpful. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay!

A very good hotel which could be excellent! The location from Geneva airport (only 1.5hrs) and the slopes (almost ski in ski out) is fabulous. Flaine resort for skiing is very good, a great choice of blue and red runs and super easy to navigate. We booked club balcony rooms and found this category of room to be comfortable, spacious and modern. We liked having the balcony so we could open the door for fresh air and the views were lovely. The lighting in both the wardrobe and bathroom needs to improve though. The staff in the hotel were extremely polite and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast had a good variety of options but it would have been a plus to have an omelette station and a few more hot food choices. Dinner was a mixed bag I’d say. The salad bar and desserts were fabulous. The main meals were a bit hit and miss and there were no alternative options for our tween/teenage daughters so they lived off of pasta and bread for 7 nights!!! We would choose to stay here again, overall it’s a very good hotel but will a few tweaks and it really could be great!
