Stayed for one night in August 2016. The building is an old convent that has been turned into a hotel. The old stonework has been preserved with modern amenties. The bed was very comfortable however there was no air-conditioning so during the day it was necessary to keep the large windows open which was noisy. Fortunately the temperature dropped at...

My wife and I booked one night to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. The hotel is ideally situated in the centre of town right next to the Basilica of Mary Madeleine and the Tourist Office. It's a former abbey once used by Dominican Friars. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped - but there is no air conditioning. It was sweltering...

I made a reservation two months ago for two rooms for one night at this hotel, where we'd had a wonderful stay a few years ago. Since then I have extolled the virtues of the hotel to many friends and family, I fervently hope they ignored me. I knew we wouldn't arrive until mid evening so at 5.00pm I phoned...

This was my second stay at Le Couvent Royal. Unfortunately, I did not try the restaurant this time, which was definitively the weakest link of this hotel last fall, with plenty of room for improvement. To be frank we had a dinner downtown since I did not want to take the risk (Sofra, a small, nice, warm tunisian resturant whithin a...

This is a beautiful place - right beside the basilica of St Mary Magdalene - I was very happy with the bedroom and inspiring view out onto the cloister and well. The bathroom was fine and the previously mentioned fluffy towels along with lovely toiletries added a touch of luxury to the monastic surroundings. Despite the elevated price for breakfast...

We spent 3 nights at the Convent in the corner suite room. It was elegant with the overly large King four poster bed, and very spacious. The bedroom suite was located steps above the entry foyer with separate bath, shower, sinks, & toilet rooms. The views were great. We ate all our meals here, as they were just so much...

Though we had a little trouble finding the hotel at night (having driven from the airport in Nice), we were thrilled to open the shutters in the morning and see the most inspiring view of the the courtyard below. We felt like we had been drawn back through history in the most lovely way. The rooms are simple - not...

We just spent a night at this wonderful place. We had a "pélerin" room, the first level. It was perfect, as it had the twin beds we needed with excellent firmness, a window overlooking the cloister, its trees and the basilica to the right. We knew there would be no air conditioning and, in late August with window open, it...
