Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favorite
The hotel atmosphere is pleasant. The setting is large and beautiful. The room and bathroom spacious, with a good shower and no water spilling on the floors as it happens in most hotels. The lighting in the room is good and there is a flat screen TV and air conditioned. However, the Wi-Fi was not operative and a message on my Tablet indicated that there was no Wi-Fi connection for lack of payment. It was restored after a whole day without it.
The reception service was good, the room clean, nicely decorated and the bed comfortable.
The breakfast was also good and items replenished as needed. There is a Spa requiring extra payment. We did not use it.
There is also a large restaurant in the premises, nicely decorated and serving tasty dishes and with good service. Be warned that it is pricey!
Except for the absence of the Wi-Fi and the air conditioned which was not yet operative in the beginning of May, although the temperature was reaching 25 degrees Celsius, it was a wonderful place, but I would be hesitant to recommend it if you do not have a car, since it is not located in town. To go to town, a taxi is necessary, which good a disadvantage to many, in view that it is a town with 5000 people only and not many cabs. Moreover, they only offer two bottles of water in the room on your first day there. They do not replenish when cleaning the room, otherwise one has to use the ones in the mini fridge offered at inflated prices.

Response from Georges Sanchez, Propriétaire at La Bastide St Georges
Responded Aug 8, 2024
Dear Guest, It was a pleasure to welcome you in our hotel. Our internet contractor changed the way of payment so it took a day to fix it ... we are really sorry about that. Thank you for compliments about rooms, breakfast and all the proprety. Our spa is accessible without fees, only massages and treatments are on suplement. Our location could be "difficult to access" but it is also our advantage as a quiet place. There are taxis in town that we can call for you as we did during the stay for all the group. But it is true that it is easier when you have your own car. I hope you add a pleasent stay in our hotel. Regards, Madeleine - Front desk manager

The magnificent place. Green spaces with Mediterranean species, a very pretty terrace where breakfasts in the summer will be a treat. A swimming pool with plenty to bask in the sun.
The spacious, nicely decorated rooms feature L'Occitane cosmetics for toiletries.
Breakfast, a treat, good products, salty, sweet served in a very beautiful, tastefully decorated place.
The very well-equipped Spa where quality treatments are provided
Thanks to Madeleine for her welcome, to Carla who pampered us at the Spa with very high quality treatments, to Virginie, mistress of the place with her husband who masterfully orchestrates this setting. Thanks to the whole team, we had a great Easter weekend and we will be back!

Year after year the magic still works.
The estate is magnificent, very well maintained, the rooms are furnished with great taste and refinement.
The Casa Gia restaurant and its chef Loïc are remarkable, with a menu allowing us to taste very good local products, superbly well crafted. In the evening the lounge area is simply incredible, refined and friendly, ideal for enjoying a wide variety of cocktails.
The staff is perfect, professional and discreet.
A special mention to the owners who are very welcoming, warm and caring, with a team that reflects their image.
Looking forward to returning to this haven of Peace.

We unfortunately only got to spend one night at La Bastide Saint Georges but wish it could have been longer.
The hotel is just amazing. Wonderful location and spectacular grounds. Walking distance to Forcalquier which is a really pretty town.
We stayed in Amandine which was essentially like a mini villa on the end of a terrace as part of a Voyage Prive deal. It looks brand new so I think these rooms are a recent edition. A small terrace with table and chairs, small area of grass and two deck chairs. The room as air con, large double bed, TV, Wi-Fi, tea/coffee facilities, fridge and a huge wet room shower area. Really nice.
Great pool area and large area of grounds with various sun beds etc.
The restaurant area is amazing and we had our welcome cocktail on the terrace with lovely views over the surrounding countryside.
Breakfast (also in the restaurant area) is superb. Loads of choice at the buffet from sweet to savoury and runs until 1030.
Staff were lovely and really helpful.
There was some confusion about the pool (heated) it seems it opens at 0900 technically but can potentially be opened earlier by prior request (which it was during our stay).
My partner had a 30 minute massage which was very good apparently.
If I was being exceptionally pedantic my only gripe was at checkout when we noticed the price of the massage was €60 and not €55 as previously advised prior to our stay. It appears the employee sent us the tariff for last season via email so an innocent mistake. The monetary difference was immaterial but out of principle it would have been a nice gesture for the hotel to acknowledge the error on their part and honour the lower price.
We will definitely return, one night is simply not long enough to do it justice.

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at La Bastide. Everything is calm and beautiful there. The rooms are ultra comfortable and nicely decorated. The staff is attentive and the restaurant is the ideal place for an unforgettable star-studded dinner.

This hotel is set in beautiful well kept garden surroundings. The owners are on site ensuring the highest attention is paid to their guests and all the staff follow this ethos. Dining in the restaurant with its' open view of the surrounding county side adds a magical charm to the evenings.

I had booked for my wife’s surprise birthday. We were totally conquered by the place and our hosts..
The place is very luxurious, but discreet luxury that attaches to details.
The hotel has an incredible charm , one immediately feels that the owners have invested their heart in the establishment with a host of small details in terms of decoration.
We were surprised by the staff .. all very young (twenties) but professionalism and friendliness that left us puppet .
I had organized a little surprise during the meal s my wife, they were perfect.
The meal was excellent, the view and atmosphere amazing.
Congratulations to the team, you allowed us to forge lasting memories.

Do not hesitate to book one of the rooms with pool. It is divine. The staff is also exceptionally welcoming, not to mention the beauty of the gardens and plantations, the quality of the cuisine, the warmth of the lounge and the quiet of the Inn.
