Special mention to Ms. Waters who gave us a charming welcome. Lovely bedrooms, quiet place, a very varied breakfast... It was an enchanting stay for us (parents and our 14-year old daughter). Thanks a lot !

I know many people say ‘we will return’ and then don’t, but this weekend/extended weekend we did and took some friends with us! As before everything was just so welcoming, comfortable and - lovely! The leaves were just beginning to turn autumnal but the Rhus in the garden was stunning as it was warm enough to sit outside with ‘a cuppa’ (or something else 😉) and enjoy the ambience, having had a great day exploring the area. Comfortable beds enable a lovely deep sleep after a ‘busy day’, with a bit of a ‘lie in’ before a sumptuous breakfast of warm just baked croissants as part of the continental breakfast (far more than my slice of toast I have at home 🙂). And yes, we will return - again! 😁

We stayed at les Eaux last week and shared time with the wonderful owners, Cheryl and Phil. Nothing was too much trouble for them ( thank you Cheryl for your excellent directions!). Not only the company but the B & b was all we could ask for - clean, a very comfortable bed with lovely views from our bedroom window out to the garden. Breakfasts were plentiful with a variety of choice including cereals, a range of local breads, croissants, preserves, fruit meat and cheese. We so loved sitting and eating in the garden which created the right atmosphere for a totally relaxing break. Thank you Cheryl and Phil. We now think of you as friends and hope to return to see you again next year.

Cheryl and Phil are fantastic hosts. The house is lovely with a nice garden. Room was spotlessly clean. Very comfortable bed and all little extras, tea coffee etc included. Breakfast great choice very fresh. And make time for the optional evening meal as it's fantastic fresh cooked and the hosts are wonderful company. We will visit again and will be recommending.

This was our first overnight stay at Les Eaux on our way down through France. Cheryl and Phil was so welcoming - they met us with cheerful smiles at the door and glasses of cold beer were very quickly found as they guided us out into their beautiful garden to cool down after a very warm drive. Our room was lovely, with a comfortable bed and clean, pressed linen. Cheryl prepared a delicious dinner, which we ate with them in the garden - the wine and conversation flowed until late and we were then joined by two other couples who arrived late but were happy to add to our sociable evening. The next morning we all sat together in the garden for a very lovely breakfast, before we said goodbye to Cheryl and Phil who waved us off with invitations to come back any time, even for just a coffee if only passing through. We would certainly recommend Les Eaux and would definitely return again and again.

I wanted to say it was a ‘home away from home’, but it’s far, far, better than home, because here you’re totally removed from life’s hustle, bustle, and daily problems. Cheryl & Phil provide a warm inviting atmosphere where peace and serenity reign allowing their guests to completely relax and enjoy each other’s company. I loved waking in my room each morning in my wonderfully comfortable bed with the fragrant smell of croissants & fresh coffee wafting in through my open window. I received excellent advice from both Cheryl & Phil when I decided I wanted to make an offer on a house I’d fallen in love with, and with Cheryl’s insistence “I go low” was able to buy it at a very, very, reasonable price. Thank you, guys. I stayed for four days, but wish I could’ve stayed for longer. I highly recommend Les Eaux De La Fontaine to everyone visiting, or traveling through, La Souterraine. Maggie A.
