My first time to Chumphon province, and this resort's remoteness attracted me - it is quite far from Chumphon town, so I thought it may be a relaxing and unspoiled destination. Indeed, one can reach the resort from Chumphon airport in about 85 minutes, but Surat Thani airport and Ranong Airport are also not that much further. So, easy access in any case. However, you will need a car - there are 2 good restaurants within walking distance, one next door and one 500m away, but since I stayed at Tusita @Beach, which is 750m from the main Tusita Wellness Resort, it is good to have a car. The main resort has the reception for both locations, and a restaurant (breakfast and dinner only), and Spa. The rooms are great - 5 rooms only at the beach location, and 2 of them have a terrace with a hammock and sunbed, and 1 has a private pool (but no hammock or much space for a sunbed). Shower and bath in all rooms. Big minibar fridge with some complimentary soda and water. The beach location is, well, right on a super wide and long beach. However, I am wondering if the municipality is currently not cleaning the beach, as there are so few guests at the moment (my party of 2 were the only guests this past weekend). I hope that it is the case that during normal non-covid times the beach is cleaned regularly. I felt that perhaps the resort could just tidy up the beach immediately in front of the resort - that would be great, and i'm sure it would appreciated by all guests. Rubbish on beaches is a real issue in the whole of Thailand and resorts and restaurants need to all contribute time and effort towards this cause. Next to the resort is a good place to eat, a simple series of shacks producing good food - however, the staff open bottles and throw the bottle caps directly onto the sand. This is a cultural issue which only generational change and education can help - I do note that the Thai government has just in the last few weeks stepped up a campaign to deal with rubbish in thailand and prevent 40% of it from entering the ocean - there is a long way to go. Anyhow, all in all a very nice setting - totally remote and quiet, and with a car you can explore the area and go to restaurants a bit further away. I do hope that efforts to clean the beach are going to be reinvigorated and I hope that, in some way, the resort could pressure the next door restaurant to clean up and dispose of its rubbish better.…
