Great value for money homestay. The setting is perfect. Beautiful views, comfortable shared space to read and relax. Nice massage onsite. Beware- the Sri Lankan style of body massage also incorporates a breast rub! If you're not keen be clear from the outset! Breakfast was the best we've had yet on our Sri Lanka trip. Toasted sourdough bread, locally sourced...

We really enjoyed our stay. Karen was such a helpful and lovely hostess. The breakfast was outstanding, original and yummy and the verandah was a perfect place to chill out and bird watch. The rooms are clean and comfortable. If possible get the jungle room, although small the bay window is just gorgeous. It's easy to get around, walking for...

Loved staying here. So peaceful, away from the town. You can see the waterfall across the valley. We planned to walk there, but ending up just relaxing and enjoying the view from our room! Great Food and a really friendly team. THANK YOU FOR MY HOPPER LESSON KAREN! Can't wait to return in the new year Richard & Jess

My husband and I spent two nights of our honeymoon here and absolutely loved it. The breakfast was one of the most delicious I've ever had! The place is homely and intimate and the walk into and out of town is really quite special. The homestay takes advantage of the amazing natural beauty of Ella and the views from the...

Hi. Aussie traveller. Stayed as couple in late oct16. Karen and Martin do a great job in welcoming you. Lots of local info, options for walks and eating etc. There's a wicked little curry spot next door and town is a pleasant 10min walk away. The house is lovely and the friendly dogs and cats a bonus. Breaky is solid...

We spent 4 nights here in September and it was one of the best places we stayed in Sri Lanka. Karen, Martin and Kiah went out of their way to be helpful and were great hosts. The breakfasts were a real highlight - varied and plentiful. We hiked, visited Horton Plains National Park and visited tea plantations - you really...

We had an incredibly relaxing two night stay, and would absolutely have stayed longer if we had the time. Karen, Martin and Kiah really open their home to their guests, and their verandah overlooking the valley really has the most incredible vibe- after a day hiking/sightseeing you can relax with a glass of wine in the hammock, enjoy the brewing...

Two great nights in Ella staying at the Waterfall Homestay, where we were looked after brilliantly by Karen, Martin and Kiah. We stayed in the jungle room which has amazing views over to the waterfall across the valley. The terrace is a great place to chill out with a beer or two after a days walking up Little Adams Peak...

Amazing breakfasts, great home - clean, well designed and lush gardens. Really friendly hosts and the communal breakfast (only a couple of rooms) is a really nice start to the day. Couldn't recommend it more. Make sure that you have dinner at the restaurant next door - phenomenal curries cooked by people in the nearby community.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Waterfall Homestay perched on top of a hill, directly in front of a waterfall, surrounded by jungle makes this one of the most stunning places in Ella to stay. Choose from three beautiful rooms, two with 180 degree views and one with french doors opening on to a large veranda. Relax on the sundeck and watch the monkeys playing in their jungle garden while Kamal, one of the best cooks in Sri lanka, prepares your meals for you. Waterfalls is a piece of paradise and only 1.5km from the town of Ella makes it definitely worth venturing of the beaten track for. ... more   less
