Room was fine, standard hostel style bunks, decent shared shower. Great location, and some good organised tours heading out from the hostel. Safari to Udawalawe in the morning was great. Hikes in the area, and some decent places to eat. Rooms were friendly and ended up meeting a great group of people for the few days I stayed!
I really enjoyed my stay at Ella in general and specially at that hostel, the guys there are wonderful and very friendly they also arrange trips everyday for the attraction in Ella with an affordable price. And we had luck that at the same day of our arrival they were having a Bbq party which was really cool and the food was ok. We went to little adam’s peak with one of their guides he was really cool and patient taking pictures for us without complaining and informing us about everything. The hostel itself is highly recommended within your stay at Ella. They have also more hostels around srilanka you can ask them for your next stop. Thanks Shehan and your lovely wife for this amazing 2 days we had in your hostel.
I stayed in hangover as a solo traveller and my stay was fantastic. Although what I didn't like about them was that they only give bottled water. They can put water cannisters for environmentally sensitive travellers like me. Hostel is extremely clean and quiet, it's surrounded by greenery and you can meditate or do yoga in peace. The staff is fantastic. They are super helpful and always ready with a smile. I made some wonderful solo traveling friend here and the vibe is just fantastic Definitely recommend this hostel.
I was a bit surprised by how quiet this hostel is, because I assumed Ella would be packed with backpackers. I am not sure how this is during other months. The staff is super friendly and Mercy the dog is so cute.. The Wifi was a bit slow in the private room. Ella can get a bit cold at night and the blankets in the room were not thick enough for me so I was a bit cold every night. The dorms looked very spacious and comfortable and there is yoga every day. Very close to my favorite hangout: Chill Café! The hostel is located in a side street from the main road. Just a short walk. On that side road are 2 annoying guys outside of the Grand Hotel, one with tattoos in his neck and one with muscels, trying to offer girls massages and one walked with me to the hostel and kept flirting and talking to me. Even when I said no. Nothing to be scared about but very annoying and rude. When you book an Ayurveda massage as a woman, you should ALWAYS get a female masseuse. I have never felt unsafe in Sri Lanka as a female solo traveller, but these guys are just rude.…
Recently stayed here and the hostel ticks every box, great facilities, perfect location and great staff. I had a personal issue I needed help with and they were so quick to do what they could to help, big thank you to Shehan! Don’t think twice about picking this hostel!
