We spent 7 beautiful days in Sahari hotel. All that sounds of rustling palms and the roar of the waves in the distance makes this hotel ideal for writing a book or movie scenary. The stuff are friendly and servisable, food in restorant are tasty and delicious, smothies and coctails the same. Hotel is half hour walking from popular Paje beach. The tide is enormous here and it can be interesting and anoying at same time.
We loved so much this place , even if we didn’t stay there. We found this place just right after we arrived in Zanzibar and we feel sorry didnt find it earlier … the food is amazing !! And Giuseppe is such a nice person and great manager ! Thank you for everything !
Our stay was perfect. The staff are friendly and helpful. The manager is a lovely Italian man who is always willing to assist any way he can. The rooms are clean and have all of the necessary amenities. We will definitely go back and highly recommend to anyone.
We spent a few days at the Sahari with a family of 4 in two double rooms. The hotel is a cosy, beautiful place right at the beach, tucked among other similar beachfront properties in the middle of a local village. The rooms were nice and clean, airconditioning worked perfectly, wifi was very good and reliable for Zanzibar standards. The place is child friendly and animal friendly, with pet cats roaming the grounds. The hotel restaurant is particularly nice, with great local and Italian dishes (the owner's Italian and a super nice guy), including oven-baked pizza. The staff speaks good English, is friendly and communicative. We had some minor issues but they were quickly solved, overall a very good stay!
Nice public areas with amazing WIFI throughout, the restaurant had panoramic views over the bay Lack of service for a four-star hotel, we had to get our own water as none was provided in the room upon arrival (apart from a menacing sign saying we'll be charged for bringing in external food/drinks) nice open public areas, but the rooms felt a little small. 'Sea view' was a bit of a joke, yes you could see the sea through the forest and past the main restaurant, but not from the room. Breakfast was terrible, yes we arrived at 9am for a 10am cut-off. Were served 3 fruit slices then saw in the corner a breakfast buffet ( I haven't seen a buffet since Covid happened) so were hesitant to say the least. Was less impressed by the empty trays that greeted us, empty eggs, empty beans, empty sausages, empty spinach. No bowels for the cereal. Made ourselves some instant coffee and grabbed all the remaining stale croissants there were, and sat down. Day 2: got 2x electric shocks off the toaster :( The pizza was good but said mozzarella on the menu, it’s not mozzarella... We were given 2x beach towel tokens at reception and informed to collect and return beach towels every day for cleaning. It seemed like the hotel doesn't have enough to go around and was rationing towels out to guests. The towels themselves were bleach stained and a little worse for wear. There's an abundance of cats around the hotel that also seem to live there so if you like cats great if you don’t or are allergic be warned! During our stay they were also carrying out some reservations or building an additional room above the bar area next to the pool so there was constant hammering, banging and construction noise throughout the day. Manager? Spent more time lounging around the bar/lounge/restaurant area in jeans chatting with his mates drinking wine. Choice of background music for restaurant/bar area: classical? jazz? Beach house music? No! Rap about pimps and hoes? Yes! Edit: they did manage to rectify the music choice during our stay by switching to Spotify (free version with ad breaks lol) Could be great but settled for mediocre…
