We were there for 10 nights. The ownership and staff were friendly and welcoming, and any request you had they would make happen. Rooms, pool, food all top shelf. Right on the beach, the views are stunning. If you're going to Zanzibar, this is where you should stay.
We stayed at Sahari for 4 nights during our honeymoon and had a great experience. We had started our trip with gorilla trekking, safari, and exploring busy Stone Town, so by the time we got to Bwejuu, all we wanted to do was relax. Sahari was perfect for just that. The staff was gracious, and we enjoyed long days of lounging by the pool and out facing the beach reading and napping. The staff was friendly but unobtrusive. We booked one of their superior rooms and as the other reviews mention, there isnt much of an ocean view, but it really doesnt matter. The room was no-frills but very comfortable and we appreciated the AC and mosquito net. The bathroom/shower was pretty dark and it would've been nice to have more toiletries, but otherwise we were very content. The food at the restaurant was quite good and diverse. As others note, the pizza and pasta were great. Highly recommend staying at Sahari and spending most of your time lounging. We ventured down the beach to Paje for an afternoon which was fun, and also had the hotel driver take us up to the Rock for lunch one day. If you're looking for lots of activity or serious luxury, look elsewhere, but this was a perfect low-key relaxing ending to an otherwise adventurous trip.…
The best holiday ever! We stayed here for 2 weeks to enjoy our holiday. We loved every single piece of it! The restaurant crew is amazing! They are always interested in you and want to make you feel at home. The chefs are good as well, amazing food and the dinner specials are something extra! Michelangelo organizes trips, and we loved it! Everything was well organized and he wants you to be happy! So go and talk with him to create your perfect tour! The rooms are super clean and the cleaning ladies are always friendly an doing their best. They spray every night anti mosquito to make sure you don’t have mosquitos in your room. The reception is helpfull and want to help you with everything you need! The pool area is super relaxing and it’s right on the beach. They have more than enough beds / relaxing areas! It’s in walking distance from Paje. The location is good. Thank you for the amazing stay Sahari…
This is one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. It’s in a beautiful location. Bwejuu beach area is so scenic and relaxing. There are plenty of places to eat around the area. Many activities that can be organised from the hotel. The hotel itself is amazing. The staff and management (manager - George) go above and beyond for you. They are so polite and kind and accommodating. The hotel only has a few rooms but in my opinion staying here has been better than my stays in 5 star or big chain hotels. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you’re going to east coast of zanzibar. Also the food here is excellent too. Thank you team Sahari Zanzibar. Hope you see you again soon.
The Sahari was perfect. We did a lot of research before choosing the Sahari and are so glad we did. We'd go back in a heartbeat. It's an extremely beautiful hotel (especially the pool and grounds/gardens) on a peaceful beach, which is swimmable at high tide two times a day (and no issues with sea urchins). It's my definition of an oasis. We traveled to Zanzibar to relax (didn't go on any tours) and the Sahari was perfect for that. The environment at Sahari is very tranquil. There are so many comfortable spaces to cozy up with book or drink in front of the beach or pool, including big couch areas shaded by thatch roofs. We were with our 6 month old infant so the proximity of the room to the pool and beach was amazing. When at the secluded pool, you can see the ocean, and from the beach chairs, you are close to the water while still having a small divide (made by greenery on the sand and nothing obstructing your view, such as a fence or high plants, which we saw at other properties) between the hotel property and any passerbys. In terms of passerbys, there were a few beach boys that infrequently passed but they were not disturbing at all. From the receptionists to housekeeping to security to restaurant staff, everyone was very welcoming and friendly. They treat you like family. We enjoyed the continental breakfast and ate most of our lunch/dinner meals at the Sahari but there are some nearby options on the beach if you'd rather get out.…
We want to give ten stars if that was possible. George and the staff really made this place like a second home for us. Not to mention the view, the pool, all the beautiful green surrounding us and the sweet pets (cats, monkey and turtle). We enjoyed every minute of our stay. The staff is kind and thoughtful. We had a lot of laughters with the guys in the restaurant and will miss them dearly. Even the cleaning lady made the room look tight every single day. George is by far the best manager we’ve ever met. He is very involved, kind and does so much for the hotel. These people deserve the world. We hope we can see you all again! Asante sana! ❤️
We choose this hotel for our honeymoon It was unforgettable.. First impression when we checked in we were amazed by surprised we found in our room Nice basket of fruits and chilled one waiting for us to arrive... We will come back for sure.. Thanks to the Manager George was on top to make sure we have all we needed. Thank you Sahari Staff.
Airport transport: I got picked up from the airport. The driver was on time, and helped carry all my luggages. Despite arriving late after time for check-in, they were flexible. They made sure that I had every essentials for that night then could check-in in the next morning. The driver also picked me up on time the day I left, and helped with the luggage to the main terminal. Location & activities: The hotel is 1hr away from the airport, and located in a tourist/local area so u get the best of both worlds. It is safe, quiet, right by the beach and have a nice restaurant. If you want to explore more of the area, there is possibility to walk by the beach where you can find other restaurants, bars/nightclubs or just simply take this wonderfull walk. I went to see how they make seaweed soaps which the hotel arranged, and bought a couple of soaps. The hotel also offers activity trips(which u pay extra for) to different tourist attractions in Zanzibar, I liked the fact that this can be organised throught the hotel and you get all the informations ther before the trip. Room + bathroom: The room and the bathroom are spacious and clean, with access to hot water in the shower and AC in the room. The housekeepers are so kind, they clean the rooms everyday, and come every evening to spray mosquito spray to put out mosquitos. I haven't experienced any mosquitos while staying ther, had even my window open at night. Food & drinks : They have a delicious breakfast buffet, with different variety every day. The hotel offers clean drinking water free of charge at any time. As a person who gets quickly dehydrated during the heat, I found this to be a very wonderfull thing. They have a variety of delicious diner dishes from Italy, Asia and some tanzanian/swahili. The only thing I could wish for is that it could be more of the local dishes(Tanzanian/swahili dishes), also on the dessert part. They make delicious drinks, their cocktails are really good. Service: All hotel staff were extremly kind and service minded. Always checking in with the guests if everything is alright, and always available to help meet every needs. You feel a warm welcome😊. Special shout out to George and all the restaurant staff😊. …
From the moment I checked in, I felt at home. From the gateman to reception to bar staff. I had an amazing time. Room was so clean and relaxing. Didn’t need to ask for a single thing. Every single member of staff I met was so kind and welcoming. The actual hotel was beautiful, not too big not too small. Hotel leads to a beach (not private) but sensational beach. Highly recommend and will definitely come back if I’m ever in Zanzibar. If you can’t decide choose here !!!
AH-MAZING! I visited for a weekend getaway while working in Dar es Salaam for a few weeks. This is most definitely the place to come to get away from it all for a while. The resort is directly on a tranquil, white sand public beach that is easily walkable to Paje, the nearest town. The tide is out in the morning, allowing for long walks to check out sea urchins, crabs and shells that remain ih the tide pools. The restaurant was great--the included breakfast was plentiful, and for lunch/dinner I particularly liked the frutte de mer pizza and the fish carpaccio. There are ample beach hammock/lounger things around the pool and on the beach. Every single staff person was WONDERFUL--you could tell they truly wanted you to have an amazing experience, not that they were only doing it because it is their job. You can fill up your water bottle for free in the restaurant. I took a snorkeling tour of the Blue Lagoon with Michaelangelo, the resort-based tour guide, and got a massage with Huba and both were fantastic. The only thing I can even think to suggest is that the Sahari give more information upon check-in about all the amenities and services they can arrange for you, like the spa that is around the back of the restaurant and otherwise easy to overlook, or the desk of Michaelangelo, the tour guide. I will most definitely be back!…
