I stayed at Pakacha for about a week and absolutely loved it! The rooms are quite basic but you have everything you need and for Zanzibar it's very good value. The Bungalows are located right at the edge of the beach which is really beautiful to wake up to and great to chill out after a surf. The food is... More

We were there for 3 nights. Mainly for the surfing(aquaholics). If you are into surfing and relaxing at the beach, its the perfect place to stay at. The team is friendly and honest. The food is amazing but you have to order it at least an hour in advanced.

I stayed at Pakacha in July 2016 and I truly loved my stay there. It was recommended to me by the surfschool I surfed with while I was on Zanzibar, Aquaholics (which I can really recommend as well). Pakacha has nice basic private beach bungalows with big beds, a private bed room, warm water and your own little porch with... More

We stayed in one of the basic bungalows (no hot water or air con) only problem is that sometimes we didn't have water at all! We had a large double bed with connecting private bathroom although the bathroom was rather tired and dirty. The room is perfect for travellers that don't expect too much for their money and are happy... More

We had the pleasure of dining here several times, every time all food was delicious, the best we had during our 2 week stay on Zanzibar. They use local food and all dishes are made from scratch, incredibly this food is created in a very small 2 hob kitchen. For this reason you may have a long wait, but hey... More

We stayed in Pakacha 4 nights. Our stay was ok, however we saw other accomodation for similar prices with a bit more attention to details. The bungalows are arranged in a nice green surrounding with direct access to the beach The beach is influenced by strong tides so there are times with low tides with no water nearby. We also... We stayed at Pakatcha (me an my wife) for 3 weeks. We are 32 and 30. The place is great, a small paradise somehow forgotten by time. The owner, Ali and his staff (family included) were amazing. Simply, we had the impression that we are part of his family. The place, the rooms, the villages nearby are simply amazing. If... More

I stayed 5 days in Pakacha and it was wonderfull. Very relaxing due to the comfortable hammocks on the plot. The room was simple and nice with a good bed. It was excellent value for money. The room and the property were both very clean! Unfortunate I do not agree with others about the food, but that is probably also... More

We had asked Pakacha to help us organize a transfer from our previous location. They did, but the driver they’d hired took detours, stopped for personal errands along the way, and eventually drove us to the wrong place (!). We had to order and pay for a new taxi to take us to Pakache Bungalows. When we arrived in the... More

We only stayed 8 days at Sansibar, at Pakacha for 3nights, and this was by far the best accomodation we stayed at! The location is quite & relaxed, apart from big resorts but also central. You can walk to Jambiani or to Rock Restaurant but also rent bicycles to drive there along the beach. The stuff is very friendly &... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Pakacha Bungalows is a small locally owned hotel situated in Bwejuu on the south east coast of Zanzibar. Stay at Pakacha Bungalows and enjoy the great atmosphere here. In a tranquil setting of Bwejuu fishing village located about ten minutes' drive from the busy Paje lies the locally owned Pakacha Bungalows. Ali Chamnda, the owner, general manager, head chef and gardener of the little hotel is an extremely sweet and passionate person, who enjoys nothing more than meeting new people and showing them his wonderful Zanzibar. The five bungalows with its nine rooms are spaced out over the property surrounded by scattered palm trees and local fauna straight on the beach. Pakacha's nine rooms, spread over five bungalows, are built in Swahili-style with traditional 'makuti' thatched roofs. Single-, double-, or triple rooms are available, as well as two self-contained bungalows each with its own kitchen. All our rooms are close to the sea and you will enjoy the nice cool breeze from the ocean every day. Each room is equipped with an en-suite bathroom, fan, and a mosquito net. Its local-styled restaurant is renowned for its quality in food and is often visited by expat managers of five star resorts from all around the island. A great relaxing vibe with very friendly people make this place a safe haven from the rest of the world. ... more   less
