Few days ago, I came back from this beautiful place, and I would like to share my thoughts. First of all, I have read a lot of reviews before choosing it, and some of them were quite negative and I can’t agree with them. So, I will try to give my view of some concerns. ROOMS: I’ve received a room on the 2nd floor with an Ocean view. Rooms are cozy with comfortable beds and a quite big bathroom. They are cleaned every day by the kind staff. Air conditioning works well, which is important as there is pretty hot. FOOD: This is the thing I was worried about the most. But it turned out that it was not necessary. This hotel offers delicious food. For a breakfast there are sweet rolls, pancakes, French toasts, eggs in any form, cereals, yoghurt, ham, cheese, and a lot of fruits. One thing which is missing is a bigger variety of bread as there are only toasts. The bigger variety of food was during lunch and supper. This hotel offers delicious pasta, pizza, sushi, a lot of different fishes, meat, and burgers, there are also local meals and veggies. I also recommend trying their desserts and fruits (especially pineapple!). Restaurant is served by kind, friendly and helpful staff. I always had a table booked by one of the waiters. So, to sum up, food is really tasty here. BEACH: Beautiful wide beach with fine sand. For me it was the best beach comparing to other hotels nearby. Ocean is really warm – water was like 30 degrees. Sunbeds are under palm trees which gives the great vibe. During relax you can listen to the music thanks to the Bravo animators. From this point I would like to say thank you to Ali – the best worker. He always cares about guests, bring them mattresses, makes sure if everything is okay. He is really kind and always smiling man. He also brings and prepares coconuts! Ali – Asante! Really good job. POOL: The pool is quite small, but it’s good to cool of when the Ocean is too warm. I’ve read that the water is salty, but I don’t think so. The water in the pool is sweet. The pool is 130 cm at its deepest point. GARDENS: Spectacular view in every part of the hotel. Beautiful palm trees, banana trees and other plants making this place magical. There are also a lot of different species of animals – colorful birds, lizards, monkeys. I feel relaxed during the walk. Magical place. LOBBY & BEACH BARS: As well in lobby as well at the beach, drinks are served in paper cups. It didn’t bother me as I have been in a lot of different places when such situations happened, and what is more at the Lobby bar you can ask to get drink in glass, so there is no problem. All drinks are tasty. They are served by the best staff! Especially by Mariam and Martha. These two were so kind to everyone, always smiling and entering into small talks. When I came at the bar, I’ve always had my drinks already prepared. Mariam, Martha – Asante! You’re the best! ENTERTAINMENT: The entertainment is provided by the animators from Bravo. Animations are in English, Italian and French. They take place two times a day at the beach – at 10 AM and 15 AM. There are a lot of sport activities, dance lessons and mini games. I recommend trying to play the beach tennis tournament – it was pretty fun. At the evening there are performances at the lobby bar or in the theatre. Animators are friendly, ready to help and funny. Special thanks to Lisa and Erika for making my holidays unforgettable, and of course thanks to Jack which is unbeaten at the beach tennis! Thanks guys! Marchello:). STAFF: As I said above, everyone at the VOI Kiwengwa Resort is awesome. Everyone is making fun of everything. Staff is experienced and kind. And as was mentioned, special thanks to Mariam, Martha and Ali. TRIPS: This is not related to the hotel, but I would like to share it here. I was on a trip to Stone Town, Spice Farm and the Prison Island. This trip was organized by the local tour guide. I would like to recommend trips with him – you can find him on the Facebook “Arek na Zanzibarze”. He has knowledge about all the places visited. The trips are organized in Polish. I was also on a trip into the ocean. I saw beautiful and colorful fishes, starfishes and great reef! Such trips are organized by the locals at the beach – I was on this trip with Captain Ali. To sum up, the hotel is spectacular. Beautiful beach, palm trees, gardens and the best staff! Thank you, VOI Kiwengwa, for having me! It certainly wasn't the last time!!!

The staff was great all very friendly, the food was good you could always found something you liked. The room wasn’t good there was lots of ants and you could spray yourself to get rid of them but they were always back and the room didn’t smell good. The gym wasn’t open, i was very disappointed because it was in the website. The garden, beach and swimming pool was very nice.

We've stayed in VOI Kiwengwa Resort for 5 nights. PROS: - Service was great: reception, dinning area, pool area, cleaning, gardening... all of them were always kind, polite and willing to help you if you needed assistance - Nice pool CONS: - Impossible to get into the sea without being stopped by the "Masai" people or some others. This was very annyoing. - As before, impossible to walk near the sea without being stopped / followed by the "Masai" people. Every attempt of saying "enough" or saying that you don't have money with you, will be ignored. Not even that, if they finally don't get anything from you, you will be insulted. - If you are not Italian, you will feel little bit displaced. Mostly 90% of the activities are focused on the italian community. In addition, if you want to join a group activity to do some sightseeing, will not be possible as it is only offered to Italian people / speakers. All in all, I regret to say that we will not visit Kiwengwa area nor VOI Kiwengwa Hotel again due to the cons mentioned before. If you are someone looking for peace and relax this will be definitely not your place. Be also aware that this is starting to be a common feeling around the island, as our local stone town guide shared with us. Looks like you need to book a hotel with private security if you are looking for some peace.

This hotel is beautiful - the buildings, gardens , pool, restaurant and rooms are really well presented and in my opinion even better than it looks in photos! We were really impressed with the quality of the food - the buffet had so much variety and something for everyone and the quality of the food was great. We never felt like we were eating the same thing every night. Staff are lovely and extremely helpful with everything - on our last day check out was at 10am but we were not being picked up until 6pm, so the hotel offered us another room from 4pm to shower and freshen up before leaving which meant we could have another day on the beach! A really lovely thing I have not experienced in other hotels. There were some entertainment options in the evenings but I think more to do would have been nice - e.g pool tables, table tennis etc. there is only one bar to sit in during the evening so it felt a bit repetitive after a week. This is not the hotels fault but something else to be aware of is the beach sellers too. We were quite overwhelmed with the number of locals (both in traditional dress and plains clothes) who stand on the beach in front of sunbeds trying to sell things constantly - you cannot walk in or out of the sea without them approaching for a conversation and then eventually selling something. We found it harassing and really quite annoying when trying to relax. I think they would be along all the hotels on this coastline stripso if you didn’t want i would suggest staying somewhere with a private beach.

The bed is uncomfortable , we couldn’t sleep well, they prioritize Italian people, first two days when we were there - was awful food, then when Italian arrived everything changed and the food was delicious, also they had better tables with beautiful decorations (blue) the rest people hadn’t. Also polish and other nationalities have worse rooms than italian people, the localization worse, even the soap in micro powder, the toilet paper that was in the worst condition, we changed room after 2 days because they had to speak with Filipe (owner or manager- Italiano), And the room was much more Better - another soap, paper, little bottles with shower gel etc. To sum up hotel is very good but the thing that Italian people are there treated better than others… not nice

I can always tell you that we were the most satisfied with this super and wonderful hotel with warm and welcoming people!!! we were accommodated starting from June 25 and until July 3, 2023!!! I had a warm welcome!!! we had 2 separate rooms in which everything was clean and impeccable!! at this hotel, everything is at a high level, I didn't even see the difference between 4 and 5 stars!!! super clean beach!!! the beach boys clean the beach daily and make it super clean!! the food is very tasty, varied and every day there is another food on the menu, seafood, fish, fruits, desserts, pizza, pasta, I don't think there was any tourist staying here who said that he had nothing to eat!! absolutely all the staff are kind, starting with the gentlemen at the reception and up to the boy who lays out the sunbeds on the beach!!! I stayed in Dubai, in the Maldives in different categories and 5 stars and 4, but I want to say that this hotel impressed me and I allowed myself to give 10 minutes and write this review for those who may want to come here but have some are you afraid, maybe it's not good? maybe it's not clean? maybe it's not safe? maybe it's raining all day? maybe the beach is dirty? maybe the ocean is receding and there is no more water on the shore ❤️😂 I want to assure you that everything here is at the best level!! it's absolutely everything!!! you will not regret it if you choose this particular hotel!!! don't be afraid of Kiwengwa, it's a great location !!!

I will start from a big issue. Hotel is offering your own safe in the safe room that is nearby reception, in hotel lobby. Unfortunatelly ALL KEYS FITS ALL SAFES! BEWARE OF YOUR BELONGINGS BECAUSE ANYONE CAN ACCESS IT! There is no safes in the room. Now lets make a list: Pros: -Staff is fantastic, always smiling when spoken to, always helpful, always kind. Great people. Special greetings to Emi! -Beautiful garden -Palm trees on the beach! This one was actually what one of the reasons I've choosen this hotel. Love it. -Tasty food, good quality products, well made -Overall cleanness -Spacious rooms Cons: -Issue with safes as described above -One, non heated pool, no pool bar (not a big issue, but still) -Low variety of food. Not many things to choose from. -I've tried to grab a snack from a snackbar once and I've been said that I need to make a reservation prior to that. What's the reason for snack bar tho? No idea. If you're hungry and currently it's not time for brekfest, dinner or supper - then sorry bro/sis but you will need to wait. -There is no umbrellas anywhere on hotel property. If you're counting on hiding yourself from sun under one near pool or beach, unfortunatelly there is none. -Not many drinks to choose from for all-inclusive (6, 7?) -Air-condition only in rooms -Rooms have poor light. It's still pretty dark when you turn on all lights. -Internet is disconnecting every 5 minutes and you need to log in again -No telephone in room to call reception if any issues occure -No minibar

Great place where you can truly relax and get away from it all. The resort is well maintained and calm (even tough it’s a big one you don’t get the feeling of overcrowded place). The food is great and the beach is amazingly beautiful. You will enjoy the long walks by the ocean if you manage to ignore the too pushy at times locals. People are very friendly in general. Special thanks to Filippo and the Chef.
