Travelers' Choice
Situated on Zanzibar’s picturesque North East coast overlooking the turquoise Indian Ocean, it is as the name suggests, a little piece of paradise. From your arrival at Zanzibar Airport, the resort is a meandering 45-minute journey through un-spoilt scenery, passing typical African villages where the way of life has changed little for hundreds of years. At Ocean Paradise Resort & Spa, you will be greeted by a blaze of colors as you sweep down the imposing driveway passing through the entrance gate. You will be captivated as you arrive in the reception to discover a view over the resort and the azure blue sea. Mature coconut palms swinging in the breeze, white sandy beach, beautiful landscaped gardens, traditional style round chalets with pitched makuti roof, a stunning waterfall feature and one of the largest swimming pools in Zanzibar are just some of the sights that await you. A big smile and the greeting of “Jambo” will be the first words you hear, as you begin to feel the warmth that the people of Zanzibar are famed for.

This was one of the best hotels I’ve been. Everyone was so nice and welcoming and I didn’t have any problems even though I was travelling alone. Specially one of the workers who was there was amazing! He was scottish and he let me borrow his slippers because my foot were hurting 😂 I am definitely going to come back!

We had a wonderful holiday in this beautiful hotel. What made it very special to us next to the fantastic food and the beautiful location was the kindness of the staff, it felt like everyone wanted to make us feel comfortable and create the most amazing holiday for us. We never experienced this level of honest service orientation before. Special thanks to Scott from Scottland who is doing a fantastic job managing the Food and Beverages department and beyond. The highlight of our vacation was the marriage proposal at the beach - the full team supported intensively on this and created a wonderful memory for us. Thank you so much! Highly recommended this hotel for couples who wants to spend a relaxed time together.

Outstanding Attention to detail. Our stay could not have been more fabulous from management through to all the wonderful employees there is a level of commitment and excellence that far surpasses that of many hotels at which we have stayed. The hotel is beautiful appointed and the design maximises the sea view from virtually every aspect. The food is superb ..F and B manager Scott, keeping us all extremely well fed..and entertained. I cannot speak highly enough of Antonie who with his quiet efficiency and ability to organise absolutely anything, is a manager most hotels would dream of having. Barnd at the helm has his finger on the pulse and doesn't miss a beat. Before arriving home..we were already highly recommending Ocean Paradise to other Zambians who were making enquiries about visiting Zanzibar .

Ocean Paradise lived up up to it's name, this was our 8th time returning to our second home and to which I will return again. The e location, although on the opposite side of the island to Stonetown, is beautiful with lovely gardens and beach, with friendly staff and a layback holiday vibe. On a more personal note The staff went over and above assisting myself when a personal tragedy happened whilst staying here. They assisted me in every little detail for all the formalities to and legalities.

Super great time! The place is amazing, literally paradise!! The water is great, the sand is so white and everything in the resort is looking really cool. I had one of the best massages ever in the spa area. Very clean rooms and cosy and big beds. Interesting architecture of the room, circular bathroom and cool and private terrace. Special thanks to the F&B team!!! Outside the food, that was really good, the stuff is really professional, cool and fun. Special thanks to Scott from Scotland: great team man! Cheers!

After a week's safari in Tanzania, we spent 6 nights at this beautiful, luxurious resort for some R & R. Amazing, beautiful place and really lived up to its name. All the staff were fantastically friendly, helpful and cheerful but special shout outs to Scott (from Scotland) and Pesto who both went out of their way to make us feel special and cared for. Both a real credit to the company. Would love to return some day and would thoroughly recommend if you want a truly relaxing, special retreat. Thank you so much.

Quiet & peaceful resort with friendly staff who made our stay! Hotel does offer daily activities e.g. aqua aerobics, reef tours but the best by far was the village tour - highly recommend this to give an overview of the culture & community of the island. Special thanks to 'Scott from Scotland' who went above and beyond to make our trip enjoyable :)

The resort is very nice. The staff is very friendly with one exception - a very tired and bored lady from the restaurant who at lunch, even though we had all inclusive, wanted to send me to the buffet on the beach, as she was too lazy to serve us. After he agreed to serve us, he imposed on us the quota of how much we should eat, as we are not allowed both starter and soup, only one of them, under the conditions in which we paid for all inclusive. But the rest of the staff really deserve all the praise because they are very friendly. A big flaw and the lack of this all inclusive system is the lack of espresso coffee from the all inclusive offer, which seems to me a big minus. Another annoying aspect is that you always have to say the room and sign the note at the end of the consumption (it's like an inventory of the consumption in this resort). This aspect could be solved by applying a bracelet of a certain color for all inclusive and another bracelet for half board, and the latter really receive a payment note to sign in order to pay at the end of the stay. But I don't see the logic of this when you paid all inclusive. Well, if you want something extra all inclusive, ask for the room number and be issued a payment note. This issue should be resolved urgently. At breakfast, the offer is very poor. The offer of drinks included in the all inclusive system should be improved. There are too few sunbeds by the pool. The price is a bit high for the services offered. I liked the live music in the evening, although sometimes the sound system was very weak. If these aspects were resolved, I would love to return to this beautiful resort.
