My partner and I visited Green & Blue in September 2016 for 7 nights and very much enjoyed our stay. The hotel is located in Matemwe, North Eastern Zanzibar, around one hours drive from Stone Town and the airport. Situated between a public beach and very small and very poor fishing village, the hotel is accessed via a very bumpy... More

We managed to reach the resort through a very bumpy road from Matemwe (Go left if you reach the village off the tarmac road. No signs of G&B). I contacted the manager before our arrival, and we were promised a room with a plunge pool because of our honeymoon. At arrival there was no room with plunge pool available. Although... More

G&B is a really beautiful place. I think there are only 13 bungalows, which gives an intimate and personal. Our bungalow had an ocean view. It was very large inside with a huge double bed, a spacious bathroom and shower area to the side and even a plunge pool outside (actually just 3-4 feet deep so more a chill out... More

My husband and I stayed here as part of our honeymoon. On arrival we were upgraded to a sea view room. It was spacious and very well designed. The grounds of Green and Blue Ocean Lodge were beautifully landscaped and looks pretty in every direction. We found the staff very friendly. The restaurant was superb and possibly the best food... Had a great stay at BnG, and would highly recommend. The managers as well as local staff were brilliant. Not sure why I was made to pay to a foreign bank for the pre-booking though, and not a Tanzanian bank. Nevertheless, the food and rooms were great.

Stayed for a weekend. Was pricey but value for money. They built their resort around the nature. The trees grow out through the swimming pool deck and give you a surrounded by nature feeling. Its a very clean place. Try out all the 3 pools (which are open 24 hrs). Matemwe is really a trading center not a town but... More

Hello, I stayed with my girlfriend at the end of a wonderful trip through Tanzania on Zanzibar in order to relax and hang out a bit. So, to book a resort that was unknown to us is always a bit risky. But all our fears were unfounded. We arrived late and were immediately welcomed by the junior manager Mr. Lampe.... More

Spent 6 relaxing days here with my husband and son following a fantastic safari in the mainland. Enjoyed watching the locals from the restaurant, mending boats, fishermen passing through bringing their catched of the day to the fish market, and boys and girls playing in their colourful clothes, even cows being chased by children and the fresh air from the... Me and my boyfriend spend 10 days in this hotel, and we enjoyed every single day of it. The staff was very friendly, the rooms were clean and very beautiful. The food in the restaurants was also very good and the view was simply breathtaking. We took a diving course with Dive point and everything was very good organised en... More

Hotel is great, especially the spacey bungalows with splunge pool. Food was excellent and absoletly reasonably priced and is a reason to stay there. Beach is a bit of a disappointment, since it is not good for swimming (used by fisher and a lot of seaweed), but you can use one of the 3 pools and enjoy from there the... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Ocean Lodge GREEN AND BLUE in the northeast of the spice island ofZanzibar is placed so that your gaze wanders over the turquoise waterof the vast bay and rests on the small island of Mnemba. Characterisedby its lush, tropical garden, the Ocean Lodge nestles right on theIndian Ocean, separated from it by a powder-fine, sandy white beach. The lodge forms part of a typical local fishing village. This may appear very simple and basic to our “civilised” eye. Tourists can expect scenes they won’t see anywhere else. ... more   less
