We had a nice room with a great sea view balcony. The setting was nice with easy access to the ocean and two swimming pools in the back. Housekeeping was perfect. Really nice place! Two downsides however: the restaurant was ok, but not more than that. Some of the staff never smiled - not a big problem, but an would have been an easy way to improve or experience.
Villa kiva is a tucked away oasis in Matemwe village, the village itself is very untouched by tourism, meaning there are few restaurants/bars nearby. The hotel has everything you need; snorkelling equipment, reef shoes, great food, drinks, games. We had breakfast and dinner included, breakfast was fresh fruit, bread basket, and a main course, and dinner was a 3 course set menu which usually had one vegetarian, one fish and one meat option. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the fresh fish/seafood. During high tide you can swim/dip in the sea, but there are sea urchins so you have to be careful. All of the staff are so welcoming and friendly, I would definitely recommend this hotel if you want a quiet relaxing holiday.
Fantastic - the staff make this Villa - it was so nice always seeing smiling friendly faces and really going out of their way to achieve service excellance - well done !!! I would recommend to anybody and from this location there is lots of other stuff to do like snorkeling walking oon the beach etc
What a lovely property. Quietly tucked away with wonderful amenities, great food and a beautiful beach. I could have spent much more time at this lovely property. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. I had a lovely massage in the spa that was private but surrounded by nature.
perfect place to relax and have a piece of mind ..Great location in front of the beach.Staff help you out to find anything on the island what you need: trips, taxi, beautiful garden, well kept and maintained Thanks a lot to the entire team for a lovely stay.
The staff are really friendly and customer oriented. Special thanks to Francisco & Edwin. The knew were were honey mooning so they upgraded us to a nicer room because we did not like the smaller room we booked online. Areas for improvement: To be fair it seems they are already working on renovating their rooms since few rooms were locked up and work was going on inside them but the only Comments we could think of is the toilet ware and shower accessories is a bit rusty. New ones would be nice. The pool would require a bit more attention and cleaning. Other than that beautiful place, amazing staff, great food and very good location!
We had a lovely stay at Villa Kiva. Matemwe is a quieter village with a few local restaurants and shops around. You can walk out on low tide and snorkeling/diving at Mnemba is very close by. The rooms have everything you need for a comfortable mid to long term stay - kettle, fridge, wardrobe, desk was all provided. Staff were friendly and responsive, including the owners who stay on site. Only downside was the Wifi which was a little slow if you need to do some remote work.
I loved absolutely everything about this place, starting from the location, ending with the staff :) everything on spot, breakfast delicious and also dinner. I would definitely come again and recommend to all my friends
Simply stunning. Every hotel staff was kind. Loved how every night someone comes to spray bug spray. Good selection of food. I did the half board and menu was different every night. Food reasonably priced. Beach not busy. Two pools to choose from plus there own private beach. I wish I could stay longer. Breakfast menu/spread was amazing. Loved the pancakes.
was there in october 21 for 2 weeks.the hotel is very charming and has a relaxed flaire.the rooms where very clean(thx to the cleaning ladies).well the bathrooms needs a bit renovation but they where clean.the breakfast in the morning was very good and served very fast.the view from the dinning room on the indian ocean was overwhelming.we booked halfboard and the dinner was ala cart.i must say the dinner was ingredible good.all the employees in the hotel where absolutly friendly( miss u guys).so the 2 weeks where very good to calm down and relax.but there is no big action(like bars or clubs arround).all i can say is thank you to all of the staff.great people.
