My fiancé and I spent 3 days at the Subshine and we really enjoyed our stay there. It's a very quiet and charming hotel. We loved our bedroom too with our own balcony and view on the pool. Definitely recommend it!

The beach at this resort is very beautiful, especially from the infinity pool, and the food here is absolutely amazing. It may be a little bit on the expensive side, but it is worth every penny, especially the fresh fruit at breakfast. The rooms are very nice as well, although the hard flooring does feel a little bit odd in... More

Beautiful place, very calm. If you arelooking place for ultrarelaxation this is it. Not so many atraction despite of diving, snorkling or kitesurfing. Be careful if you do any business with local people - even if they are friendly they just want to get as many money as possible from you. Pricenegotiation of everything is neccesery. Bungalows are very comfortable,... More

Average service and food. Bed as hard as a rock. Room clean but no hot water on our last night. Has internet which was welcomed. A basic eco style hotel. Ceiling fans in room. Two pools and right on the beach. Communication can be a bit difficult as English is not very strong. Remember this is the Sunshine Hotel NOT... More

Dear Pam and Barry Thank you for your comment – we appreciate every feedback from our esteemed guests in order to maintain good service. Due to the late night check out from the room above you – which is rather unusual we understood your disturbed night and the following morning we came to apologize along with an offer to find... Stayed for a week following a 5 day safari based on our travel companies recommendation; turned out to be exactly what we needed. The location is excellent, providing the opportunity to enjoy all aspects of the local 'beach life'; whether that be watching the octopus fishers, walking to the reef (mind the urchins!), wandering to the local fish market, snorkelling... We spent three nights here. The hotel has nice view, small pools, and good size rooms. Everything is clean and in the right place. The staff is friendly. Ava at the front desk was super efficient and helpful. We needed to change our flights and she looked after it perfectly. She also followed through with other information we requested. The... More

This was a hotel that we stayed at to finish out the week on Zanzibar. It is clean and fairly friendly. Gabriella that runs the place did a good job to make sure we had what we needed. There are water shoes to borrow if you'd like to do a low tide wade. Be cautious of the sea urchins! The... More

Elena had arranged for the Blue Breeze suite. This place was just amazing for our honey moon. My wife and I stayed here for three nights. After an action packed safari this was really what we needed. The staff at the place was incredible kind to us. They were really eager to make our visit fantastic while still being relaxed.... More

A true gem among the several hotels in Matemwe, it is a small boutique style hotel with 2 pools and a beautiful restaurant/terrace with excellent food for lunch as well as for dinner. The staff makes an effort to make you feel at home and comfortable. We have stayed in the Sunshine suite (downstairs) which was beautiful and provided all... More
