Reception service excellent Mr juma was excellent

Breakfast was extremely poor. Choice of items was very poor and the eggs almost daily were rock hard.

Few outstanding service personal we came across were Saeed from the bar and Naseem the waiter. They always went out of their way to make as comfortable.

Rooms were not too bad though alot of maintenance is required. Many floor tiles are cracked the shower roses are all blocked with water tickling town instead of a full water flow. The water sprayer was leaking alot.

Room cleaning was also very poor on 2 occasions we had to actually go tell them at reception to please ask some one to come clean our room. We used to be out of the room at 7 am and come back at 6 pm just to find the room is still not cleaned.

Overall I wouldn't mind going back to the same hotel the simple reason is that the loction is prime and the beach is lovely.

One advise to anyone that plans to go there be prepared to go to a very basic set up breakfast menu and extreamly slow service when it comes to getting your food once you have ordered. At times we sat over an hour just to get our eggs for breakfast. So if you going with kids better carry snacks for them or else you will have trouble.

The plus is that its right on the beach and walkabel to major resturants .The resturant and bar faces the ocean and it was a delight to sit and have our uninspiring meals here.Go down a few steps and enjoy a nice swim.During our stay, only one day we experienced the so called high tide for 1-2 hours, otherwise its a dream of place for simple relaxation on beach.
It looked like it was jam packed with almost all rooms which are numerous booked.
I booked it through booking.com ,though exchanged many emails with hotel but could not manage to book directly. The room we got was tiny with 2 single beds .Beds were large enough to accomodate me and my son in one bed and my teenager in other bed. There was hardly any space to move or open suitcase. The bathroom with shower was of decent size. The AC is placed at an strange location , on wall next to bathroom , sort of on one end of L where beds are on other end of the L.There is small verandah outside shared with other people.
The people working here are good.Polite and ready to help. The safe in my room malfunctioned with every important stuff inside. The helpful front office staff helped to sort out this issue.
We stayed here for 3 night. We had 4 meals here .I am a vegetraian, so for me the options were very limited.I was really disappointed from food angle.Even the breakfast was below average in taste .There are standard buns, baked beans ,meat dishes ,cereals ,coffee, tea ,bread etc. They serve a single slice of pineapple, watermelon and half passion fruits or banana on table. These fruits are in abundance in Zanzibar and there is hardly any need to ration. I think the eggs(omellette or scarmbled) were chargable(not sure, didn't order)
All the hotels on this side of Nungwi are connected so one can easily walk to any other resturants in vicinity even in night. The hotel did offer entertainment during the three nights we stayed (Christmas eve to boxing day)
I will definately book this place again but keep my food options open.

Rooms are basic, but clean. A bit stingy with towels, as a family of 4 we only got 2 bath towels and no hand towels. Staff is friendly and helpful. There seems a bit of a sewage problem as the washrooms in the room were smelly.

The pool has chipped tiles which is an issue with smaller kids
Pool towels you only get at the reception. Would be more convenient to have a set up next to the pool.

The breakfast was a pleasant surprise, with a variety of different foods and fresh juices
So was the restaurant. Food was great and the waiters were super helpful

Overall our stay was good. There’s many activities and food options around

Currently in night two of my three night stay. While location is prime, the lack of basic necessities require that I give Amaan a low rating. The free breakfast is good for free breakfast. Tip: you have to ask for eggs and fruit, odd but it’s not out for the buffet. Anyway, the water in my sink occasionally has a little pressure and comes out. 9/10 when I turn on the shower- nothing. Last night I had to walk all the way to the front desk to get it fixed- twice. Tonight it’s shortly after midnight and I’m cranky and exhausted. I can’t go to bed because my shower doesn’t work. After an animal tour all day I NEED to shower. It’s frustrating enough to make you want to check out now and just stay elsewhere. They keep sending someone to fix it (you have to wait and sometimes go down and ask again) but I’m not sure that they understand how critical it is to have running water for guests. I had to go outside and wash my hands in a random staff sink just because I couldn’t wash my hands in my own room. Maybe it’s just my room and if that’s the case avoid DT-3. I asked for another room but have to wait until morning when someone else is here. If it wasn’t for the water I’d give it a higher rating but that’s a pretty serious issue. Signed someone who flew too far and paid too much to be miserable.

Dear Guest, Please accept our sincere apology. We have already made tremendous and thorough scrutiny on the water pressure problem. We agree there was faulty in one of the pipe lines from outside for only that room. This will not happen again to you or any of our guest. May you visit again and you will realize a good change. Thank you,

Me and my girlfriend are British teachers in Qatar who travelled for a holiday recently. We had an unbelievable relaxing week where we were looked after at the Amaan Beach Bungalows. The location , is amazing, close to all restaurants, and right on one of the Whitest beaches I have ever seen , along with the clearest water. We tried most of the nearby restaurants and found that Blue Ocean was the best, we ate there 3x in 9 nights. We lived off different sea food for the week. Also next door to the hotel is the Langi Langi hotel, which served fantastic food. We didnt eat much at the hotel as we liked to walk along the beach and eat out.

Staff were amazing. Very friendly and caring. The reception staff, especially Trump, was excellent. Very chirpy and cheery, and sorted out the small issue we had with our room, which had a gap on the door allowing mosquitoes in. The bar and restaurant staff were fantastic, I would like to mention Janet, Frank and Ame Amadou , as they were always friendly , attentive and caring. They made our stay excellent.

The rooms are basic - air conditioning, double bed , hot showers. It was all we wanted. We stayed 3 nights at the Sea view room which was virtually on stilts above the ocean, breathtaking views. The normal rooms are basic, but the cleaner ensures they are spotless every day.

Overall, for the price, the value was excellent. If we go back to Zanzibar , I would recommend staying here again. Fantastic location , great staff and very clean.

The hotel is run down. Air conditioners are of dubious effect and how often don’t work at all. Hot water is limited. Some of the rooms are infested with bull ants. And the ceiling crumbles on to the floor and bed.

A few of the staff are lovely (Tina at breakfast was very friendly). Unfortunately most of the staff are rude and belittling. One of the waitresses told me I was more than welcome to have a cup of coffee but one of the male staff members decided I was not going to have coffee and physically blocked me from accessing the coffee.

I have dietary restrictions. Alternatives weren’t offered which meant there were only two (sometimes three) suitable options available at the included breakfast. I was repeatedly ‘told off’ by the male staff at breakfast because I only took ‘more’ of foods I could safely eat from the buffet. (Notwithstanding I didn’t touch the majority of the food on offer.) Some of the breakfast options (for example fruit) were not accessible through the buffet and was ‘rationed’ to guests.

Dear Guest, We apologize for the bad experience you had with one of our staff. We always kindly ask the guest residing in our resort to specifically tell us immediately they check in on whether they are on dietary restrictions. When information is given earlier on, we do the service with pleasure. The guest only needs to tell us and we are very much willing to give what they need. Fruits and eggs are part of the breakfast buffet, place your order with them and you will be served, in most cases they will bring immediately you sit on your table even without the guest asking. Thank you and welcome back.

We were there for 4 nights. The staff are very friendly and even allow extended checkout if your flight is in the evening. The rooms are clean and spacious enough for 2 people. Decent air conditioner and mosquito net available. The bathroom is also clean with individual water heaters for the room (you might not need them though ;)). There is only one restaurant (beach side) and very limited options but you can ask for customisation which the waiters will happily do for you. Usman who served us most of the time there was the best. We just had to tell him our preferences once and he took care of it the the entire time we were there. He even spoke to the chef to cook us Indian dishes when we told him we were craving for them. A decent pool and wifi as well. If you are looking for room service or high tech room with intercom, then this is not the place for you. Overall a budget friendly hotel with a beautiful view of the beach.

This was the worst place we stayed by far (after a great time in Stone Town and Tanzania mainland). Overall there was quite a trashy vibe, with crap pumping music in the bar, breakfast buffet was extremely crowded and the food looked awful.

Our room was fine, but basic – and you felt a lack of privacy with big windows opening out from the bedroom onto the main pool area.

We are a British couple and perhaps this wasn't to our tastes. There were a lot of Russians staying here and they seemed to be having a good time!

There are much nicer, more tasteful, relaxed places on this beach, seemingly for the same price. We spent a lot more time at the Langi Langi bar next door because of this.

I was looking forward to a few days relaxation on Zanzibar’s north coast! There were not enough lounges or shade around the pool and no lounges on the beach! My bottom sheet was not changed for three days, I know this because there was a stain on the sheet! My room was dark and sparely furnished!. I was asked why I had not checked out when I had in fact booked for a further night! Breakfast was very average- runny scrambled eggs if you were there early enough, the only available fruit being three pieces, under ripe, brought to my table when I asked. With a couple of exceptions the staff were friendly although slow to react.
This property is more suited to young people, it has a beautiful location on the beach just a shame it lacks attention to detail.

On arrival I was met by a harried looking man who seemed unprepared for my arrival even though the hotel had arranged my airport taxi. I was told to pay the airport taxi ride to the hotel at the end of the stay then, two days later I came back to my room to a note shoved under my door telling me to go to reception immediately to pay, this is not a good way to do business. Try not to book taxis through the hotel, they add quite an excess!
Remember to put the clean/no clean sign on your door or your room definitely doesn't get cleaned by default.
I was still eating dinner when I was asked if I wanted anything else and when I said I wasn't sure yet, I was told my bill would be closed down. Saved me the calories of a dessert and a few cocktails!!
Even with only a few people in the restaurant I was ignored on more than one occasion until I went to ask for a drink/food. One server even stared at me when I smiled and motioned that I would like to order then walked the other way! Smiles and friendliness are definitely not forthcoming at this venue!
The pool is meant to be open from 0800 however they were still cleaning it at 0830. I tried to keep to one side but as I was swimming the cleaner just shoved the cleaning pole in my way like I wasn't there, no 'excuse me could you move', and I was tangled in the hose.
I went to ask prices at the salon, had a look through the list, went to leave and the lady said 'well what do you want' I said I'd only asked to see the price list, then it was 'you will come back later' and gave me a dirty look. With the attitude and looks I was given I did not go back.
The lady and the man working in the mini market were welcoming with a smile and friendly chat, they were definitely the friendliest people here!

The customer service in this resort leaves a lot to be desired, the staff seem bored, unhappy and like it's an annoyance you're there, there are very few smiles! They may not be happy but while on holiday you do expect the staff to be somewhat friendly and helpful. The only place losing out is the resort, I would have spent a lot more money here with a little more friendliness, instead I went outside of the site and found more welcoming places to have massages and to eat and drink.

This was a total contrast to the second place I stayed where I was welcomed with a smile by all of the staff, a cold drink and a rundown of meal timings and anything else I needed to know!

The beach in front of the hotel is lovely very safe for children. You could see if you use snorkeling gear. Nungwi Beach is a buzzing place so it's a bit noisy at night but very very safe
