Pros: The place is nice generally. The hotel staff including our tour guides were friendly and accommodating. The access to the beach and the clear blue water in the area is definitely a plus. Cons: the sitting area in our apartment was a bit stuffy and we had to keep the fan on constantly when we were there. No wifi in the rooms as well. The breakfast options weren't anything to sing about and the service team kept getting one of our friends order wrong most of the time. What irked me the most is that my trouser went missing and the response from the hotel staff was not satisfactory. I had to keep reminding them to give me an update and would generally give me the run around and ended up leaving the place without it. So no i will definitely not be back.

A friend and I stayed at the Mnarani Beach Cottages in mid-February. After reading all the previous reviews we were very much looking forward it - sadly, we felt that it didn’t quite live up to these reviews and, at best, it was average. Whilst the hotel is clean, the decor is somewhat dated and needs updating. The staff, whilst pleasant enough, certainly weren’t as welcoming as we had been led to believe - the restaurant staff clearly had ‘favourites’ and the bar staff definitely weren’t friendly (one in particular was downright surly). As for the food, that too could best be described as ‘average’ - there was little variation and if you like to eat later, as we did, then very often they ran out of food. One very strange peculiarity, the window between the ensuite and the bedroom consisted of three large glass panes - two of which were clear glass! We were staying as friends and certainly wanted privacy when using the shower and toilet..... the staff seemed bemused by our request to cover the glass and simply did so by nailing up a bedsheet. The shining light for us in the whole holiday was the spa treatments - I would have to say that ‘Berina’ stood head and shoulders above all the other staff at the hotel - she was amazing. Not only were her treatments fabulous but they were also priced very reasonably and she was a great source of information about the local area - she was an absolute diamond. Overall the experience, apart from Berina, could best be described as “OK”

We were with our small girls this February in Zanzibar, decided to stay close to Nungwi beach, just because of the beautiful and wonderful beaches. We have chosen Mnarani for our stay, two- bedroom apartment. Accommodation was just fine, reception ok, but wonderful staff in the restaurant as well in the hotels bar. Good selection of wine, it was really something perfect, specially sparkling wine was perfect for me 😊 Thank you. Ivana and family
