After a dusty safari or a rigorous climb, this is the ideal place to relax and unwind. Lovely cottage-like rooms with breakfast served on your own verandah, a friendly, helpful staff, charming owners, a refreshing pool and a calm, welcoming ocean all combine to make this the place you don't want to leave. The waterfront restaurant serves better food than...

I spent almost two weeks in Flame Tree Cottages and truly enjoyed my stay there. The place is like an oasis of calm and peace. For me everything was perfect. The rooms (mine was called Rose) are very nicely decorated and kept clean. The garden with it’s trees and flowers, the pool and the hammocks is wonderful. Breakfast was rich...

Nice hotel in Nungwi a few steps from the beach. Great pool area and wonderful garden. Nice restaurants are located a short walk along the beach. The restaurant/cafe/breakfast service at the hotel is incredibly slow and disappointing.

We recently stayed at the flame trees cottages for 6 nights and had a great experience. The cottages are spotlessly clean, very comfortable and all have nice big terrace seating areas. The staff were very welcoming and couldn't do enough to solve any of our queries - even remembering us by name throughout the week which is a small thing...

We stayed as a group of three couples, we all really enjoyed ourselves and wound down whilst there. The staff and owners were lovely. Many restaurants and bars to the left and to the right of the hotel, all within an easy walk along the beach. Superpb during the day in the sun and great at night .

Nice place, nice atmosphere, beautiful garden, nice view, nice location, wonderful sunsets, nice staff, good food! Maybe a bit too simple rooms, but that's less important than all of the above. Good bed=> slept well!

We stayed at this hotel in the spring of 2015 for over 10 days. We were was quite disappointed. It's overpriced, the rooms are small, only around two rooms have a partial sea view, the Internet at the time worked on a strange ticket system which allowed you to use a small amount of data. Once that data was used...

I stayed at the Flame Tree for 3 nights after climbing Mt Kilimanjaro, and it was a great way to unwind and relax. The staff were very friendly, and the breakfast spread was SO good. The lush, greenness of it all was really charming, and it truly made you feel like you were getting away, which is great when there...

For the price of this hotel I really expected more. If the customer service and quality of food is going to continue to be awful the price of staying should be dramatically reduced. The only nice part was the bed with the mosquito net. We were told by management that they were away during our stay. I didn't think it...

Absolutely beautiful views from the beach and turquoise sea which is very near to the cottages. Rooftop yoga which looked intriguing and the yoga teacher herself was very welcoming. The food every day was excellent quality. There is a very interesting Turtle sanctuary a little way down the beach. The diving trip was one of the highlights of our stay....
