The hotel is on a beautiful location. It is very well kept, with beautiful gardens, happy staff cleaning, serving and gardening. The buffet has ample choice and the food quality is very good. Housekeeping did an excellent job, too. It does fit the standards of a 5-star hotel. However, like most all-inclusive big resorts, your experience is only as good as the least polite of your fellow guests. People fill the pool and beach area with towels and personal belongings at 8AM, only to "reserve" the lounge chairs and sometimes they only show up at 3PM. People litter all over this precious beach, letting their straws, cups and bottles fall down and be taken by the wind with no care for the environment. The main pool is never ever quiet, full of animation activities, very loud music and screaming kids - this is to be expected but sometimes the music is so loud that it bothers people all the way down to the secondary pool. Reserving a table at the special restaurants is almost impossible, as you can only reserve "3 nights in advance subject to opening days of the restaurants" (what if you are only staying 3 nights? No restaurant for you). The staff does their best to clean up after rude people but I believe more rules should be in place to improve everyone's experience.

Very nice hotel. Junior suite was amazing. Hotel grounds are very well maintained and is beautiful. Good food & drinks. Nice beach & swimming pool. We stayed here for 3 nights. Unfortunately not all staff is friendly during servicing even to much to smile. During our stay all a la Carte restaurant were all ready fully booked. That is not correct everybody should have the opportunity to eat in a different restaurant. They open the reservation system upfront so the people that stay one or 2 weeks have already booked all restaurants so no change if you only stay a couple nights. This can be solved by only opening the system in the morning for the evening. We told the reception but they said everything was fully booked. I expect more from a Riu to better organize this. The a la carte restaurants looked very romantic and nice 😔

An absolutely majestic hotel. We were speechless right when we entered. My review is short as words cannot express the grandness and beauty of this place. Right from the gardens to the turquoise blue ocean to the beautiful sunsets. It just left me in awe. We were in the villa with our own veranda and pool. Oh good lord the room was absolutely beautiful and the showers and bathrooms and walk in closet was amazing. We had our meals at the Promenade. The buffet was huge and the food was exceptional. Was happy to be sung for My birthday with a cake and champagne. The hotel even gave me a letter wishing me for my birthday. You literally get the best service in Riu. The drinks and cocktails/mocktails were a delight and so were the snacks. Loved swimming in their pool till the evenings and the gardens just added more serenity to paradise. Until we meet next time!! Really wish to be back!!

A 7 night stay as part of a trip around zanzibar .The Riu palace .. Beautiful looking property - very colonial in appearance, with beautifully maintained grounds and beautiful beach. Stunning location - stretched out along a long stretch of white coral sand, the resort appears really spacious, well looked after, and classy. We had a sea view suite room with a huge terrace and massive bath in addition to the usual facilities. Room was spotlessly clean and very well maintained throughout our stay. All staff were really friendly and welcoming. Food in the buffet restaurant offers massive choice - there’s literally something for everybody. And it all looks so appealing, so not the place to go if you’re on a diet! Breakfast is also a huge event - you won’t go hungry. Although a big property, it is very well laid out so nowhere feels crowded - always plenty of quiet areas to sit for food or a drink, plenty of space to lounge on the beach or by the pool .Nitin at the bar was awesome👌 top noch and the team as well 😀maneno ,james tussa ,: Kepp the good jod Mr Hamadi the gm of this hotel very welcomingn professionalism is all about..
