Amazing resort, fabulous beach, wonderful staff is a brief summary. The hotel is beautiful with modern clean rooms, gorgeous gardens and pools. The restaurants and bars are very nice, all meals are truly delicious with a large choice of food, the chefs here really are exceptional. The white sand beach with ample sunbed availability is stunning and so is the aqua warm sea. The staff here are very friendly and efficient and deserve a special thank you, to name a few, Martha, Jackson, Lucas, Ahmed, Jesca. Managers John, Sarath, Chis and Carlos, big big thank you.

Hotel's Favorite
Having been in the hotel / hospitality industry for the past 40 years, and having just returned from an amazing holiday at the RIU Jambo, all I can say is WOW!!!..This newly opened hotel is a real “gem” and is ably led and managed by Carlos and his support team in Chris and Alberto. No hotel can operate without committed management and staff, and this is one “committed team”!!..All the staff are extremely friendly and it is obvious that they want to provide the best service and product experience possible with endless smiles and a genuine interest to assist. Opening a new hotel of this magnitude is a huge undertaking in itself, but the management and staff have risen to the challenge and should be proud of there achievement to date. The facilities are ample and obviously new. The rooms are modern and clean, and certainly provide adequate space with all the necessary amenities for a product of this standard. Comments have been made regarding food variety and in my opinion are unfounded, as the food quality standard is that expected of any discerning diner. There are a selection of various restaurants, which are situated in the main complex and in a unique building built off the shore line in the sea. The quality of the service/ food offering in all the dining outlets are world class (it is suggested you book these dining options on the hotel app when checking in, so as to avoid not getting a booking - space is limited) I would be amiss if I did not mention a few staff who went “above and beyond” in terms of attentiveness, friendliness and service levels. We can’t thank Rose, Richard, Francina, Sarafina and Celion enough for just making our stay that much more enjoyable. We would like to thank Carlos and his team for there kind hospitality and all the very best. We have no doubt that RIU Jambo will continue to go from strength to strength…Good luck and looking forward to a future visit - Asante’..🙏

My feelings about the hotel are completely mixed. Let me start with the positives: The beach and ocean are stunning. The garden is very beautiful, and the rooms are nice. It's great that the main restaurant has a closed section with air conditioning; otherwise, it would be challenging to eat in such heat. The Italian restaurant is fantastic, and I also enjoyed the Kulinarium restaurant. The idea of placing restaurants on the ocean is excellent, and the food is outstanding. The cleanliness is impeccable in both rooms and restaurants. Now, the negatives: It is utterly disheartening in 2024 to be surrounded by a crowd that smokes everywhere without any consideration. Despite some improvements I read about in the feedback, such as the prohibition of smoking inside the restaurants, the overall lack of respect is astonishing. It is incomprehensible that people spending thousands of dollars to enjoy the marvelous oceanfront have to inhale cigarette smoke because smokers are too lazy to go to designated smoking areas. These rules must be strictly enforced in the future, as many complaints are being received. The sight of cigarette butts littered in the pristine white sand is disgusting. The staff at the reception seemed clueless and unwilling to help. Their problem-solving skills were nonexistent, which is a weak performance for a reception. During check-in, no effort was made to provide already cleaned rooms until precisely 3 o'clock. Having stayed in several hotels in my life, rooms were always given when ready, especially when they knew guests were arriving after at least a 20-hour flight. I've been to several RIU hotels, and until now, I could only speak in superlatives about the meals. Unfortunately, this time was different. Every lunch and dinner were monotonous and boring. Breakfast was fine with a variety of options, but for lunch and dinner, it was the same canned baby corn and mushroom-based vegetables almost every day. How can a RIU afford this? The taste was not good either. If it weren't for the ramen station available for every lunch, I wouldn't have had anything to eat. The side dishes were very poor, and all potato dishes were tough and undercooked. This is truly disappointing for a RIU hotel. I expected at least the usual standard. If they can prepare delicious and fantastic meals in the à la carte restaurants, why not in the main restaurant? Overall, I would never go back because the negatives outweigh even the breathtaking ocean.

The hotel and the beach are impressive. Staff are pleasant and to the point. The hotel would like to invest in new road to the hotel that is about 2km considering how many guests they transport to their own hotel.

Generally very good hotel . I was surprised by the service very good and very efficient especially in the evening in lobby bar . Unfortunately I don’t remember the girl name but she was the best she worked as well on the molo . She always served us with big smile and was so nice when she tried to teach us some Zanzibar words (Babu, Bibi ) hope you can find out which girl it is. Hotel is very pleasant and clean you cannot fault it. Food is good how ever having so many different customers who doesn’t speak English you could have name of the dishes in few different languages.Service on the reception was really good. Every two day they replaced soft drink in the room but if you need more they will able bring it over. Beach is beautiful and very busy . Pools are clean however water is boiling hot scheme you don’t have anything to keep it cool. All staff very nice and pleasant always happy to help and always smiling. The only down side is people smoking everywhere. As a people who don’t smoke sometimes was impossible to enjoy the evening without constant changing seats . It’s a bit annoying because the only place you can’t smoke is the molo bar but if you want to enjoy evening and watch entertainment you would have to sit far away from under certain part where is really hot and it’s not comfortable. I think in 21 centurie this should not be like that. I have been in many Riu hotels and they start introducing a place for people where they can smoke . I think you should preserve environment and forbidden smoking on the beach it’s not pleasant to step on cigarettes buried in the sand. I think you should designate one place where they can smoke. Overall we had amazing holidays because it’s beautiful place

We booked a superior room with a full sea view. What we got was far from it. We were one floor above the ground floor. Our view was the roof of the floor below us, umbrellas, and palm trees. If you stood on a chair you could see a sliver of the sea. Not what I would call a full sea view. It was by far the worst view ever! Don’t bother complaining because that got us absolutely no where other than a lot of wasted time. If your idea of a great beach vacation is a resort with 300 rooms then this is the place for you. The three specialty restaurants are mediocre at best. You’re better off dining in the main restaurant. There are so many other great places to stay in Zanzibar. We were here for a week and couldn’t wait to leave. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Luckily for us we had three weeks here. We left Riu Jambo and our second week was at Riu Palace right next door. We had fantastic views of the ocean. It’s a fraction of the size with much better dining choices.
