"Some people want good service..." that's what Nungwi Guesthouse manager shouted angrily as an excuse for his guests leaving earlier than the amount of nights booked. The manager gave off a really unfriendly and unhelpful vibe as well as becoming terribly angry when we left after the first night. The rooms were steaming cement boxes with a fan that barley...

The accomodation is not what you are promised. You are promised a mosquito net, but in most of the rooms there aren't any. If you are lucky to have a mosquito net in your room, you are unable to use it because it intereferes with the fan. So you have to decide between getting bitten by mosquitos or sweating like...

We were not expecting much due to the negative reviews, but Nungwi Guest House has a new manager who seems to have much improved the place. Mahmoud was very friendly, even when serving us breakfast during Ramadan. The rooms are basic but large and comfortable. There is no hot water, but it was so warm that we didn't miss it....

I stayed here for 6 nights and as a lone female traveller, it was perfect. Very basic rooms, hit and miss with the beds (I moved rooms after 1 night to a much more comfortable bed) but the breakfasts were the best I had in any Tanzanian hotel. The guy who runs it was just SO friendly and genuinely nice....

LP gives this place a short, but decent sounding review, and I have to assume they have never seen it! The rooms actually have some pretty nice paintings to brighten them up, but they are still dire. The bed was a zanzibar sun lounger type thing and the most uncomfortable thing I've ever slept on. The room was very hot...

Was referred by two volunteers I met in Stone Town, planned two days, stayed 9. The place is clean and great value for cash, cheapest in area. 2 mi walk to beach and has a funky aquarium like theme to the place. Is located near local cuisine and the grocery store in town. Rooms have private bathroom, nets and fans....
