Pros: The resort is very spacious and has a comfortable environment. It has the best beach on the ridge. The staff are very friendly. The buffet is delicious, and it's delicious and cheap compared to other similar hotels in Nungwi. It is comfortable and the interior rooms are up-to-date. The room is spacious and the bed is big. Housekeeping twice a day and plenty of towels. Disadvantages: Sometimes electricity is cut off for a short time (less than 3 minutes twice a day). There is no TV in the room.
This was really an amazing property. The property sits on lush gardens with cozy bungalows. I had had a really bad day before arriving due to a missed flight, and then heavy night traffic on a Saturday on my way from Stone Town to Nungwi. As I arrived late the property had arranged a midnight snack for me in the form of a delicious sandwich and fresh fruit. It was such a great detail! The room was immaculately clean and the AC worked great. The wifi throughout the grounds worked very well. The meals were fantastic, the bar service was amazing! All the staff was wonderful, pleasant, and showed amazing hospitality. I'd like to especially note Calvin from the bar exceptionally entertaining and an all around nice guy. The beach was beautiful, truly paradise! I really can't find fault in the place. The only room for improvement would be to maybe try to keep the beer and wine colder, but I loved the place! I had an all-inclusive package which was a great deal. If you stay at a cheaper place, you will still end up paying more for meals. Staying at this place actually saves you money! It is well worth the price!…
Way beyond expectation for a funfilled holiday.. Be it the rooms, the way they are kept, outdoor and indoor games, beautiful beach right on the resort, large pool, pool bar and restaurant overlooking the sea .. awesome.. The entertainment & sports they organize mind blowing... Hospitality caring and fun. No words to explain. Large spread of buffet, taste can be better.. this the only thing we found needs improvement.
We came to eat lunch at the buffet and we pay 20$ each like they ask and during the meal they gave us an uncomfortable feeling and disturbed us because we are not from the hotel, at the middle of the meal they even came to tell us that they had a mistake and we need to add more10$… it’s was very annoying end we couldn’t enjoy the meal because we felt unwanted. even when we finished and wanted to leave and return to the beach the security stop us and tell us to go to the reception and we didn’t understand why because we payed for the meal and we just wanted to go. Finally another security guard came to escort us long way from the hotel like we prisoners. Very bad behaviour, we was so humiliating and all we want was just eating lunch.
Just Wow ..don't look any further ... If you are reading this , you are wondering which resort , which area etc . We did the East Coast in Nov ..Um Not . Very tidal , seaweeds, urchins ( we spent our week out of the resort doing excursions as we could not swim ) We decided to re visit Zanzibar in March for 2 weeks .... but with more research . WOW ...Sandies Boabab on Nungwe ( North ) was everything we had dreamed of . The swimming was out of this world ( on some days on a par to Maldives - we stayed at their sister hotel in August - Diamonds Aruthruga ) We loved the Beach barbecue every Saturday, Huge salad selections , yummy pasta , theme dinners . Amazing omelets by Fatima and Cliff . Cocktails, early morning coffees ... Sandies ticked all our boxes . We walked along the beach and saw Double Tree ( not ) My Blue ( budget ) Royal Zanzibar ( huge ) Rui ( no beach ) Zuri ( overpriced) Gold ( you need your passport to swim ) The staff made our stay .We booked for 2 weeks but had to leave after 10 days due to a medical emergency . The hotel went above and beyond . But special mention to Atigon , kind , caring and what an asset ( we own a Boutique Hotel and know staff are everything) we will be back one day soon . ...Best wishes from Babu, Beebee and Dada ( Room 238 and 503 ) …
Sending some special thanks to Sales Manager, Emmanuel, for assisting my group with ferry tickets and transportation during our stay. He exceeded ALL EXPECTATIONS in customer service and ensured our journey could continue without delay. He is an exemplary representative of the fine quality of service that Sandies Baobab Resorts provided for our entire stay in Zanzibar.
There are many things that make this hotel excellent but the most important thing is the kindness of the staff. We had a great time with them, thank you for their work and the lots of smiles we got. This "village" offers comfortable and well-equipped accommodation on a wonderful beach in a well-kept large garden. They are cleaned daily - everything is very clean and cozy. The whole hotel is securely guarded and very well located. There are many programs and restaurants nearby. The only thing that did not meet our expectations was the bar. Maybe because of the all inclusive service, the selection and quality of the drinks may be understated. We will definitely be back here again.
The hotel is located on a beautiful Baobab beach, new houses very clean, but no TV and mini bar. They provide water daily, cleaning is very good. Lovely people working there, very friendly, polite and cheerful. The food is very good. I recommend.
The hotel was very beautiful, everything clean, the sea wonderful, the staff very nice. A little longer trip from the airport, but the fact that the low tide is minimal is worth it. Unfortunately, the hotel has virtually no sports facilities (only beach volleyball, ping pong table) For me, the big disadvantage of this hotel is the fact that it is offered by Czech travel agencies and for this reason is very busy with Czech clients. And we're definitely not looking for that. However, the hotel is not to blame. The food could definitely be at a slightly higher level (due to the location definitely more variants of fish), a lot is repeated .... But otherwise everything is OK and we definitely recommend the hotel.
By far the best aspect of this hotel is its location on the most beautiful beach in Zanzibar. The views from the restaurant is amazing. The staff are friendly and courteous and incredibly enthusiastic. Security is excellent and ensures privacy. Incredible effort to make Christmas memorable. We really enjoyed having a great snorkelling experience right in front of our resort, just watch out for the sea urchins!!! The negatives are the desserts at the restaurant which are bland and unimaginative. Like all reviewers we miss the standard bar fridge and kettle in the room. In the end we had a wonderful honeymoon and would recommend Sandies Baobab to our friends.
